Help, I'm only 17 and have stretch marks? :(?
I've gained some weight lately...I am normally a very thin person but now I have stretch marks on my thighs. They are noticeable, red/purple and I don't know why I have them. I workout a lot, everyday and eat a very healthy diet (rarely any junk ever) and now I have started losing again.. I put lotion on them now everyday but will I have to get surgery or something? Once I get back to my normal weight will they go away? Or if I start tanning (I usually do but haven't in awhile)? I am panicking, I can't wear shorts or swimsuits anymore :( I know its not the end of the world, but do you think its possible to lose them in a month? Or when? I shouldn't have them for life- I'm only 17! :(

You probably developed rather suddenly and your skin tore as your body changed. They're always going to be there but they will fade in color to a silvery white. You can try Bio-oil or Strivectin. I don't know how much Bio-Oil costs, but Strivectin is $115 a tube. Cocoa butter is said to help prevent them, but not fix them. Time will be the most helpful thing for you. You're not alone, it happens to a lot of people, including men.

I have very pale skin, which makes them more visible, however, tanning doesn't help either, so just keep your skin moisturized and out of the sun.
