Suggestions For A Poem

What are some suggestions for a title for a poetry book?

Title can't be decided without knowing the actual context. Yet few things i will considee that a title should be catchy- say something that some one get curious to dive into.It should be relatable - people should relate it in one glance. As you are going for girl poetry, I say nature and behaviour of girl would be a great way to describe ur poetry. It should not be long- my sincere request is to keep your title small. Try to fit it, if conditions demand long title and if there is no other way around then u can go for it.Don't use difficult words - it might sound catchier but common masses may don't get ur feel directly if they are too busy figuring out the actual meaning. They would simply disapprove rather than finding actual meaning. There is a fine line between difficult words and catchy words. At last, all the best for ur poetry. Wish to see them real soon.

What are your suggestions for this poem?

Ok, I can tell you don't have a whole lot of experience in poetry. However, I will give you what I think. You really could have been more creative to begin with. Just on the way that your poem was written. Instead of writing, well, like an eighth grader studying, you could have written from the point of view of a soldier fighting beside him. Also, you put so much effort in making it rhyme, that it doesn't relly even make sense. For example, "of those who saved lives in vain," what the hell is that supposed to mean? I hope you got something out of that. I hope you don't take offense to this, it's just that I know a lot about writing, and why not help out the eighth grader?

Poetry Ideas for a Contest?

This is one I just wrote. I think it has a good idea, however sad it is. But then beauty is often sad, I think. Anyway, you can use it however you like, in parts or the whole thing. (it's such a wonderful poem, I know)

We were once in love, they often say,
as though love was meant to pass away
a thing we play that isn't real
or meant to be, just as everything
and our lives will end one day.
But for a small time love feels eternal
Like the stars in the sky streaming out
into space and sparkling like dust in a dream.
And we see what's real in the other's being.
We felt so close so sure it would never end,
But then it ended, like everyone said it had to.

Ideas for a poem?

Hi, I have to write a poem for school and I have no idea how to develop it. The poem has to incorporate the theme "serving one another with love".

I have an idea in mind but I don't know where to go from that. I want to write about a homeless grandma on the street, and how I walk past her everyday but have never actually reached out to help her. I think each stanza would represent a different day, and would always end with: "In the end, I couldn't do anything" (something along those lines). And the last stanza would talk about how I was too much of a coward to reach out and help the grandma . Maybe I could end the poem with: Fairly likely that one day, it could be me sitting there. One day, it could be you sitting there.

For many people, ignoring the homeless is much easier to do than to acknowledge them. We tend to turn a blind eye to the homeless, shield our hearts to their existence, not wanting to accept a reality that doesn't align with our own.
I want to emphasize that through this poem, but I have no idea how to do that. It would be great if you could give me some ideas. Or suggest some metaphors/imageries I can add into the poem.
Thank you so much!

Ideas for a poem?

What can I give you for Christmas, my dear?
Shall I harness a sleigh led by Santa's reindeer?
Could I entreat the angels to sing for thee?
Or praise the heavens for sending you to me?

Tell me, my dear, what would you like?
Would you enjoy a ride on a red shiny bike?
Instead would it be your fondest wish,
That I should give you a candy dish?

Better yet, I think, I probably should,
Implore to God and all the forces of good,
To bestow on the world and all who live
The gift of wisdom and the soul to give.

Ok, I know, it's not that good, but what can you expect for 3 minutes work? I wrote it myself, btw, but you can use it if you need it. You never said how long it had to be. If you want to write a poem yourself, you could start the poem out by listing things that are more materialistic, but end up suggesting something more spiritual or from the heart. I tried to do that here, but it didn't work out exactly as I wanted it to. Oh well.

Hope it helps.

Need ideas for a poem title?

All of these things, I have yet to learn.
I've been alot of places, I've done alot of things.
I regret alot of it, I've taken a wrong turn.
But that's okay, I've come so far.
Inside my head the memories inside burn.
They stay with me, always.
Live on, my friend.
For today may bring upon great sorrow,
But you never know,
What will happen tomorrow!
