Super Greesy Oily Hair Help Asap

Super oily hair?

Hey, I m a 15 year old girl and I have SUPER oily hair. My hair can only stand being clean for about 5-6 hours before going oily, adding to this, it also goes very strongly as soon as it is hit with wind so it looks greasy when it is not. I really want to dry my hair out and how have amazingly greasy hair anymore. I know a lot of people have said to let your hair get greasy for about 3 days but I can t do that, I have school Monday to Friday and I hate going in with greasy hair. I d love a shampoo or home remedy I can use to dry my hair out. Can anyone help me please?

How do you get rid of SUPER DUPER GReasy hair?

To help prevent your hair from looking oily so soon try this... after your hair is freshly washed and dried, sprinkle in some fuller's earth (can get from ebay - CHEAP) and ruffle it through your hair. I show longhair cats and we use this to absorb oils in their coats to help get the maximum fluff possible. We sprinkle it on (it usually comes in a shaker), ruffle it in their fur and comb. You can't see or feel it, but it's absorbative properties are fantastic and I have seen it do wonders on a greasy cat (un-neutered boy cats have high oil outputs, just like teenagers; it's hormonal).

Greasy hair, static-y hair, HELP!?

A few years ago, I could never go even one day with out my hair looking totally greasy and disgusting. At that time, I was using Garnier shampoo and conditioner. So, I switched shampoos/conditioners. I tried using Pantene, but it didn't help. Then, I tried Herbal Essence's, and that took away that greasiness, but made it very static-y. Next, I tried Aussie. For awhile, it worked great! Not greasy at all, and not that static-y. But then, within the last 2 weeks, it started to make my hair really static-y. And I have no idea why! It's so frustrating! Please help me!

Thanks!

Hair Care: How can I make my scalp less greasy?

Hi, I have long hair so I can give you some tips How to Make Your Hair Less Greasy.  Speaking of hair shampooing, yes over washing can actually cause the hair to become more oily. When you regularly use lower-end shampoos that contain harsh chemical ingredients such as sodium lauryl sulfate, diethanolamine (DEA) or triethonalamine (TEA), they can strip your scalp of its natural oils and trigger your sebaceous glands to start producing more oils to counteract the situation. My best advice to naturally control oily hair is, wash every 2-3 days, or whenever your hair feels particularly greasy and sticky. Also, avoid brushing your hair too frequently since hair brushing stimulates the production of scalp oils. You can read more remedies here: Top 5 Oily Hair Remedies That Actually Work  Quick Fix-  Pour some talcum powder or baby powder out onto a dish and dip your powder puff into it.-  Don’t pour the powder directly onto your hair because it is difficult to gauge the amount you need and if you are not careful, you will probably end up making a big mess afterwards.-  With a comb, part your hair in the center and puff the talc onto your scalp and roots. Make another part half an inch off-center and repeat this down one side of your head, then from the center and down the other till your whole head is done.-  Leave it for about 5 to 10 minutes while the talc soaks up the excess oils in your hair. After that, brush your hair the normal way. Want something more? Try “no-water” Keratin Complex Lock Launder Strengthening Dry Shampoo. It magically zaps away excess buildup and stringiness caused by week-old oily strands, leaving you with oh-so-gorgeous bouncy locks.  If your hair is oily at the roots but super dry at the ends, then nourish it with a banana-avocado hair mask at least once a week. Mix ½ avocado and 1 medium sized ripe banana with a fork to get a smooth paste. Add 1 egg yolk, honey and olive oil (1 tablespoon each). Mix all ingredients until well combined and apply onto hair ends. Leave to act for about 30 minutes or so, then wash out with a gentle shampoo.

Will having greasy or oily hair make my hair grow faster?

Hair has natural oils to keep it moisturized, but too much oil on the hair may cause blockage of the follicles as dirt accumulates. And it does not necessarily mean that oily hair makes it grow faster. To grow hair fast you can use Fast Hair Growth Products, choose those products that are all natural and free from harsh chemicals.

Why does longer hair get oily faster?

There is nothing like long hair will be oily. The level of oil is for the most part a matter of scalp action. What you might be encountering is the heaviness of the hair developing longer pulling the parts at the scalp near the skin and consequently permitting it to drench up a greater amount of the sebaceous oils than it did when it was shorter and better ready to stand far from the scalp. It's likewise possible that what you are taking for oiliness is sweat buildup (which is likely) created by the more drawn out hair being "hotter" and bringing about your scalp to sweat more. In the event that you think this could be the cause, you can let the hair dry, utilize the regular abound brush to redistribute the oils and give the hair a light clouding with a perfumed body shower to dispose of any smell from the sweat.

My hair gets Greasy fast?

Straight hair does get greasy quickly that is natural, it is those oils that actually make the hair straight, people with curly hair don't get greasy hair right away. My natural hair is very straight and it gets oily fast...you must shower it every day, and avoid using oily serums and greasy moisturises on your hair.

How do I keep my hair from getting oily so fast?

K some people were wrong there, u have to train your hair not to produce a lot of oil by washing it less often, it will start not getting so greasy fast and soon enough you can go 2-3 days without washing it, otherwise dry shampoo, don't wash hair everyday because that's taking off the natural oils produced and than your scalp is thinking I need to replace those oils fast and that's why hair gets so greasy fast, it's actually a vicious cycle that wrecks hair

Dying hair while oily?

That's a really good question to ask..

It's very simple... You don't wash your hair before putting a colour in. Having product build up, oil, it will come out uneven or any of those reasons has nothing to do with it. The dye's formula will not be affected because you haven't washed your hair... The reason why we ask clients not to wash their hair before coming into the salon for a colour is their 'acid mantle' which is a naturally produced mixture of sebum (oil) and sweat) acts as a protection layer once the dye is applied. Traditionally it was expected to have clean hair and allergy tests were required for anyone who was to under go a colour. It was later found that unwashed hair protected the client more than a squeaky clean head of hair. Clients were more prone to rashes, burning and tingling burning sensations and legal ramifications ensued. It became acceptable and much safer to retain the protection of acid mantle than not to have it at all.

However Manufacturers still encourage all salons to perform allergy test, but due to the client having to come into the salon 24 hrs earlier to under go a patch test behind the ear and wait until the next day makes it difficult for clients who experience time consuming delays and have to go back to work again and wait until the following week.

red is the hardest colour to maintain, it fades faster than other colours so just be aware of it. If you can - avoid dyeing over previously coloured hair. It's not good as it damages your hair. When its damaged nothing can solve it, once it's destroyed you can only ever leave it or cut it out.

Sarah's information is not completely wrong, it's not her fault, she sourced her information and I've just checked it out. It seems some people think they know what they're talking about when they don't and they end up misinforming everyone.

A very interesting question none-the-less :-)

So go ahead, I believe your are ready to dye you hair now :-)

Hopefully that clears that up?
Have fun
