Labor Day and you had to give me a hard one,I don't know how much money you want to spend. picture this.when the royal order takes the field.have some band members playing trumpets playing hail to the Queen and King.have sky rockets on the goal post that can be lit when they are crowned.ladies in waiting could have sparklers and a Knight.lite them.the sparklers are held by one person.and a helper lite them with a blow torch,the knight hands out the sparklers when you say ( ladies and gentlemen members of the royal court ,i give you.your king and Queen) AND BOOM THE SKY WILL LITE UP.you can use as many sky rockets and colors as you like I would use at least 4 on each goal post.

By (H)omecoming, you mean, from military deployment? If so (and speaking as a Vietnam veteran), “cute” ideas are and from the start a very bad idea. Combat vets, especially, have had enough surprises to last them a lifetime. Just be as welcoming, approving, and above all, as patient—as you are able. (Whatever you do, don’t expect the little boy you once knew to be your little boy anymore. That’s a killer.)

A small homecoming would be a lovely idea. I wouldn't plan a large gathering. I know whenever I came home from hospital stays, just the ride home was exhausting, at times. Let a small gathering suffice. As her strength returns, ideas for different outings and activities can be planned for later. Definitely have a couple of her friends over for some serious girl time together. Keep it simple and short, a couple of hours at first.

Not so much a homecoming, but conclusion if sorts. I have two, that are part of Operation Baby-Lift, which was the mass evacuation of thousands of south Vietnamese children in '75. They are some of the most touching and inspiring photos ever taken. This woman searched for this man for 30 years. She was never able to meet him, since he died before she found him. But she kept this photo by her bedside her entire life. What a beautiful picture this is. Words can't really describe it.
