Tooth Abscess Causing My Cheek To Swell

Can tooth ache lead to cheek swelling?

When your tooth gets bad it becomes abscessed and a swollen jaw is a symptom.
I had a cracked wisdom tooth that, finally shown the final stages of being so bad that it had to be pulled.
My jaw swollen up and the dentist told me that they couldn't pull it until I got some antibiotics to get rid of the infection that caused the swelling. I even got a case of "lockjaw" cause, I couldn't open my jaw more than 3/4 of an inch. I didn't get an inner ear infection, pain in the side of my head, headaches or fever, Just had a swollen jaw and an infection like you. If the infection gets bad enough you could get an inner ear infection and some of the things you listed.
You said that you recently got a "crown"?
When I went to get my tooth pulled, my dentist also gave me the option to get a crown BUT I knew that the tooth was so bad that it had to go. After the dentist pulled it, She said that I made the right call and showed me the crack in the enamel, down the side of the tooth, to the root and; said that if I got the crown it probably would have gotten reinfected and would have had to be pulled anyway.
That's what happened to me... Your case may be different or it could be similar. I Don't Know... That's what happened to me, in my specific case.
Regardless, I would tell the dentist the whole story about your symptoms cause it sounds like your infection has spread to your inner ear and you'll probably get some strong antibiotics to reduce the fever and get rid of the infection... along with plenty of bed-rest. Take this to heart - cause it won't do you any good to have a fever, chills etc along with a swollen jaw and a bad tooth ache.

I think I have an tooth abscess, but I'm not sure. I have swelling, but I also took ALOT of Orajel last night.

I think my tooth is abscessed. But I took a lot of Orajel last night and I have a puffy, swollen feeling, but it's less in my gum line and more in my cheeks. Could this be the abscess swelling or some reaction to the Orajel. I've been swollen for about 6 hours now. Again, I have more puffiness in the cheek than the gum line and the cheek has that Novocaine "asleep" feeling. I know it could be the abscess, but could it also be caused by the "overdose" of the Orajel?

My eyelid is swollen..... is it due to tooth abscess?

John R is wrong, an abscessed tooth can cause your eye to swell, I know this from personal experience. My sister had bad teeth, abscesses, decalcification and woke up one morning with the left side of her face swollen, eye was swollen shut. She went to her family doctor and when he learned of her dental problems gave her antibiotics and told her she needed to go to the dentist immediately, that infection in the teeth can actually go to the brain and cause serious problems. She went to the dental college, and they pulled two teeth and drained the abscesses. The swelling went away.

I put clove oil on my abcess tooth but now my lip and cheek are a bit swollen. Is this from clove oil numbing?

The area is swollen from the infection. If your face is swollen, the infection has spread from inside the tooth to the bone and soft tissue around it. You need an antibiotic (if you aren't already on one.) Ibuprofen reduces swelling and will help with the pain. The antibiotic usually takes 2-3 days to kick in, so if you just started taking one recently, don't worry. If the swelling keeps spreading though, or you have trouble swallowing or opening your mouth, then you should go immediately to your dentist or to the ER.

How long does it take for the swelling to go down with a tooth infection that has cellulitis?

If the infection is localized, an I/D procedure needs to be done, antibiotic must be taken and a root canal procedure done or have the tooth extracted. Priority must be given to treating the cellulitis. Depending on the ability of the antibiotic to control the infection, optimally 7–19 days the infection should go down or you are in deep trouble.
