Torn Between Next Motorcycle Decision

Should i buy motorcycle or new car?

At 175k you have to figure there "may" not be a whole lot of life left in your car, not unless you keep soaking money into it. Eventually it is going to start nickeling and diming you to financial death. Pros and cons would be a motorcycle would be great on gas and the insurance on it may be cheaper than that of a car, but then you would have to withstand all the elements of the weather..if you decide this, be sure to get a rain suit and some leathers. You will want the leathers for safety and a good strong helmet too. Something else to consider too, if you ask a girl out on a date you had better hope the weather is good and that the girl don't mind motorcycles (this is if your corsica is dead by then that is). With a car they are more on gas and the insurance is most likely going to be more, however, you are at least protected from the elements and not have to worry about your dates (with the transportation that is). If you get a smaller size car it will be better on gas. For 5k you can get a decent used car, or motorcycle. Make your decision wisely and be sure to be satisfied with it when you have. Autotrader.com is a good place to look up used vehicles/motorcycles.

If you were going to buy an electric motorcycle today, which model would you choose?

I'd go with a Zero SR. I'm a street and highway rider, so all of the off road bits and knobby tires of the various other bikes aren't interesting, and I like speed and acceleration so the base Zero isn't as appealing.I'd be torn between the Power Tank and the fast charge option, personally. I haven't modelled that out to see which is better. Probably both and make the choice before the ride, but that's kind of silly.Extend range and slow down acceleration a bit or speed up recharging. Boyfriend wants a motorcycle, but I'm worried?

My recommendation:

Don't try to run his life by making decisions for him. He won't like it, you will get tired of it, and the end result isn't pleasant.

Tell him that you will support him in his decisions, if its what he really wants to do. Ask him if he will take a motorcycle safety course, and TAKE THE COURSE WITH HIM. Tell him that taking the course with him will make you feel better about him riding. Chances are pretty good you'll enjoy the class, and you'll become a safer driver even if you never ride a motorcycle yourself. You may feel better about him riding if you understand what riding a motorcycle is like yourself. You might even like it so much that you want to ride yourself, and you will have found a lifetime passion that you and your boyfriend can share together.

As far as riding on the back, I don't blame you. I have only ridden on the back of a motorcycle twice, and it scared the heck out of me. It feels much better being in front, controlling the bike.

While I would agree that riding is statistically more dangerous than driving a car, I think if you learn how to ride safely, and you are cautious, and careful in your riding, you're probably safer than being an idiot in an SUV not paying any attention.

Is buying a motorcycle stupid?

hi, i am 19 and am very much considering buying a motorcycle. I have riden dirtbikes for over 5 years and know very well the dangers of riding a motorcycle. I guess i am torn between the fact of me dying and the joy i have when riding a bike. If i am to get a bike it would be looking at a Vulcan 500 or a Honda Shadow 750 or something along those lines. Even though im a teen i would not buy a crotch rocket because i want to be as safe as possible. My parents after years are fianlly letting me get a small crusier to ride around if i want to. So i plan on taking the motorcycle saftey course in the spring and then starting to ride. So i guess im just wondering what everyones opinions are about buying a motorcyle. thanks for any advice. As far as experience i have only riden my friends Suzuki 750 crusier before and felt very comfortable on it.

Price for re-owned motorcycle Suzuki GSXr 600?

I am trying to buy a preowned motorcycle. I have narrowed down to the following:

2007 GSX-R 600, 3000 miles for $5700 Excellent showroom condition

2011 Honda CBR 600RR, 5000 miles for $6500
Very minor scratches

Are these good deals? If not \, how much should I pay? And is it worth buying a 2007 bike?

What are some good strategies for making a good decision when you are torn between 2 options?

The best thing to do is to think about what's important to you.  Is this decision going to be instantly gratifying turned regret or fulfilling?  I'm torn right now between which master's program I want to go for.  English composition or creative writing.  My heart wants creative writing,  but my fear tells me to go composition because there's a better chance I'll get a job after graduation. However,  creative writing is my passion,  and I am leaning more towards it because we have one life, and I want to pursue happiness in mine
