Tragus And Conch Piercing Advice

Tragus or conch piercing?

I have both tragus and conch piercings. I love my conch piercing so much. The tragus is okay, but I just think the conch piercing is so much more unique. It took a while for the conch piercings to heal, but it was worth the wait.
I washed them every day in the shower with antibacterial liquid soap, and sprayed them with bactine 2-3 times a day.
I did basically the same healing process with my tragus. My tragus piercing I don't really like that much. It makes it difficult to wear ear phones and listen to music, even though it's healed. It just gets in the way. It did heal nicely though, and didnt take very long to heal.

If you do get your conch pierced, be careful. They can look silly sometimes in different positions. go to
http://bmezine.com/pierce/01-ear/cart001...
that page and try to look through the photos for a conch piercing and see what position you like better. You can also search in google images.
If the piercer marks your ear and the positioning isn't completely perfect, just tell him and he'll fix it for you. You want to be sure to be happy with what you are getting!

Conch piercing advice?

I'm thinking of getting it done in a few days but I'm a bit worried. I haven't heard anything but horror stories!
I have double lobe piercings and a cartilage piercing (which just felt like a pinch, only done 3 weeks ago). I also had my tragus pierced about two years ago but it grew out within a matter of weeks. I don't remember what the pain felt like, but it musnt have been too bad if I can't remember it haha.
So what can I expect if I go through with it? As in pain and healing wise..
Any other comments or tips are welcomed!

Rook vs. conch piercing?

I got my left conch pierced about three years ago and I'm not gonna lie, it hurt. I have a high tolerance for pain though, and after a while it was more annoying than anything. I had trouble sleeping on it for a couple of months, but it felt much better when I replaced the hoop with a barbell. (Only the bead shows, like a stud. But the hoop is better for healing.) It wasn't hard to clean, but it was painful. I don't remember if I ever went as far as taking OTC painkillers for it, but it was definitely not pleasant for a while there.

My rook on the other hand, in my right ear, was a breeze. But I have a very thin rook, so that could have played a part in its near painlessness. All piercings hurt (except for my standard cartilage piercings - felt nothing) but the rook was way more tolerable than the conch. I could even sleep on it in two weeks. Though now that it's mostly healed, I'm thinking about piercing that conch too because the combination looks pretty.

The conch is totally worth it though. I love my conch piercing and if you can be patient with it, you'll be happy with the end result.

I am, however, too wussy to get my tragus done. I think if you have your tragus done, you can *definitely* handle the conch.

Is it time for me to retire my tragus piercing?

I'm thinking about just taking it out i got it about a month ago, and at first the bar was too short so I went and got it changed, then I got a hypertrophic scar on it, and now its all bloody and gross and it hurts. Advice? This sucks, I might eventually get it repierced on the other side. I was pierced with an 18g needle instead of the usual 16g to take up less space because my tragus is really small, and a different person changed the bar than that originally pierced it. I think maybe she put in a 16g bar? Or would she know that it was the wrong size. Help?

My anti tragus piercing is still not healing!!?

I had my anti tragus pierced about 3 months ago, the piercer said to me after about 3 weeks the swelling will go down and you can get a smaller bar fitted.
Three months down the line it is still as swollen as ever and still as painful as ever!!
Any advice? | have used so many different techniques to clean it, the past day or two I have been doing salt soaks, how long will it take for the swelling to go down if I do this?
Thanks!

Can you still q-tip your ears with a new tragus piercing?

yeah you could still q-tip your ear, but for the first few weeks it might be a little difficult since it's sore. same thing with using in-ear headphones. but it'll be fine after a month tops. i've had my tragus done since february and it's totally healed now- i don't even notice it when q-tipping or using earbuds. lol
