Trying To Installing Diablo 2 On Os X 10

Installing old computer game?

I just bought a used copy of monty python and the quest for the holy grail for computer. how ever the game seems too old to run on vista. the game is a windows game so I shouldn't need to use dosbox. every time i try to run the setup i get an error message telling me it's not compatible with my current version of windows, and to check whether I'm 32 or 64 bit. any help?

Is Linux bad in relation to gaming?

Hello,

As Rasputin mentioned above it would be better to use it through a Live Boot or VM. It is not made for gaming. However, you can use Wine to load and install the games through Linux and access Direct X. Linux and Mac do not have this and all games use it to gain high performance. However, Apple Steel and Wine allow both to access it. It might be a bit glitchy from time to time as most of it is open sourced, but if you have a background in IT have faith that you can get it stable and there's a lot of very talented people in the Linux community with online support with forums and chats. This is how I run it at home and can run Left for Dead 2, Diablo 3, etc on Linux Ubuntu Mate and Centos 7. If you needed it for business end Centos 7 would be a good one to learn from if you have the option from your teacher.

I need help connecting multiple PCs to LAN Diablo 2!?

169.254. addresses are what is called apipa they are an automatic addressing when dhcp fails. If you have a router, then dhcp isn't active so you effectively have a switch. Which is ok.

To set IP addresses in windows xp: open control panels, choose network connections, then look for the one that says local area connection. Right click it and choose properties. Look for Internet Protocol on the general tab. Select it and hit the properties button.

Now if you are just playing on a Lan: click the dot that lets you enter an ip address. Choose something like:
IP:10.0.0.1
Mask: 255.0.0.0

For the rest of them just add 1 to the end,
IP: 10.0.0.2
Mask: 255.0.0.0

Now on your windows 7 box. Its harder.
You need to open Network and Sharing Center from control panels.
Choose change adaptor settings on the left. Then Local area network, and follow the steps above.

This should get all of your IP's setup on the same sub net so they can talk to each other.

Actually I thought about it again, Just go to the system that still has the 10. address and cant connect and change it to automatic get IP, this will bring it into the same range as yours.
