Trying To Print An Email Through Firefox But All I Get Is A Blank Page With The Date On The Bottom.

Yahoo Mail, Firefox 1.5.0.8, Email Printing Problems?

I am trying to print out emails received in Yahoo Mail using Firefox 1.5.0.8 under Windows XP. I load the printable view and hit the print button. The results are three pages long no matter how long the original email is and if the email is more than one page long the email is chopped short. How can I fix this?

The results are always:

*** Page 1:
Page title and URL at the top
Yahoo Mail Logo
From/To/Subject/Detail Lines
(A huge blank)
"1 of 3" and the date and time

*** Page 2:
Page title and URL
The first page of the email. If the email is more than one page long, the email runs off the bottom of the page.
"2 of 3" and the date and time.

*** Page 3:
Page title and URL,
(A huge blank--even if the email is more than one page long, this page is blank!),
"3 of 3" and the date and time

Printing font size way too small?

You may find, as I did, that you have at some time altered the Scaling setting in your browser's print settings. Perhaps when printing pages with images to get them to fit on one sheet wide.
For example in Mozilla Firefox, when you Print Preview a page from the browser menu, there is a box at the top of the window, which shows the scaling. Mine was set at 40%
Alter this setting back to 100% and print a test page.
Then, when back in your email programme (I use Yahoo! Mail), when you select Print on the Yahoo! Mail menu, the mail should print as expected in a font size (10 or 12) large enough to read.

Why is my printer not printing the whole page? How do I fix it?

Goto the properties, hit Ctrl+P(or directly under printer properties after selecting setting after hitting "Start") of the page you want to print. Then verify it is setup(check advance) for the proper printer, paper size, etc. and save if any changes or apply. Depending on the output sizing, you can changes the "margins" thus increase the actual area of the printout, which I'm sure is your problem. Don't change too much the margins, just alittle will go a long ways, like .05 to .04 change but do what works best. That can be for both right and left as well as top and bottom. Beware, even though you increase the printing area, some websites just aren't printable, in that they provide too big of a printout and overwhelm your page size. Some do provide a"print friendly" output so you can more easily print w/o fancy fonts, etc.. Remember alot of website info is buried within the display and having fancy display is just too much for typical printer to place all on 8.5x11in. paper. The above is the first areas I would check.

Why is my yahoo mail showing a blank screen?

I had the same problem. This site below works as a temporary measure. It is a no-frills (and ad-free) yahoo site. At least you will be able to access your Inbox for anything urgent and when Yahoo finally fix whatever is causing the blank screen you can access the rest.

Why does my printer only print in the uper left hand corner of the page ? The printer test page printed fine!?

1. Try to print out of a simple program like Wordpad. If it does the same thing: then remove and re-install the printer drivers.

2. If it doesn't print small in the upper left hand corner, remove and re-install the software that you were trying to print out of. (Could be the program or the "default document settings" have been corrupted).

What can cause Microsoft Word not to print or print blank pages?

Section breaks.The most common situation is when you want a new chapter to only start on an odd-numbered page. Consider a typical book opened so you can see facing pages. The pages on the right-hand side (“recto”) are normally odd numbered pages, and the left side (“verso”) pages are normally even-numbered. In many books, new chapters begin on the right side on odd numbered pages.To manage this in Word, you insert an “Odd page” section break before starting a new chapter. If the previous chapter ends on an even-numbered page, the next chapter will start normally on the next page. (If you do not see the page and section number on your status bar, right-click on it and turn on their check boxes.)

When I copy a small table from Excel and paste it into Gmail while composing an email, why do I lose the table format?

If you are using the Chrome browser, you will lose your table format. You have two options to try: 1. use another browser, like Internet Exploreror Firefox. 2. copy the spreadsheet first to Microsoft Word. Make sure it looks right in Word. Then make sure your Gmail is using rich text format. You do thatby checking the formatting bar at the bottom of the message window where you are typing your email. On the right side of the bar, the words "Plain text"will be shown if it is plain text. If it is rich text,the area on the right side of the bar will be blank.Finally, copy the spreadsheet from Word to Gmail. The formatting should be maintained in Gmail.
