Would i have a good chance to get into uc davis?

According to the average freshman admission profile for Davis, your high school GPA isn't around the average, which is a 3.99, so you'll need to get those grades up this year to have a chance. Your community service is a plus, but UC schools tend to focus more on grades and test scores, so you'll need to do well in those before they consider other factors.
You can better your chances by getting test scores around the admitted freshman average (refer to the website below, it has all the average stats for Davis).

What are my chances of getting into a good UC?

Very good. It’s very competitive directly from high school and you will need to be one of the top students in your class to get into UC Berkeley. If you don’t get in to the UC of your choice and you have a great GPA and SAT/ACT scores, I would write them a letter stating your case as to why they should reconsider. If that does not work and you absolutely want to attend a good UC, then go to a California community college for two years for your general education and apply again. GPAs over 3.5 at a community college will get you into the good UCs, with a slightly higher GPA is needed for transferring into Berkeley.Alternatively, you may want to consider going to a Cal State for undergrad and then applying to a top UC or Ivy League for graduate school.

Chances of me getting into UC Irvine, UC Davis, UC San Diego?

You have a SAT math score of 500, and you're Asian? Are you mongoloid? Your Asian father probably should wonder who his wife was sleeping with. Sorry, just kidding. You're just proof that not all Asians are good at math, I guess. You're just going to have to apply to all the UC's and CSU's that are all possible for you to attend, to see which ones accept you. Your SAT is really low for UC's. Your biggest problem is that you'll be competing with all the asians who did score 800's on their math section, particularly at UC Irvine (known as the Eastern Asian UC Anteaters). If you're parents can afford it, you should also apply to Harvey Mudd, the other Claremont Colleges, and some other private schools, like maybe Occidental and University of Redlands. The public universities are much closer in price to many private universities now than they were 10 years ago. If you have an idea of what your major will be, then evaluate the schools based on that major.

What are my chances of transferring into UC Davis in fall 2014?

You should be applying to a lot more schools. Your chances are pretty good for Davis, but there seems to be a lot more options than you think.

Do I have a good chance of being accepted into UCSC? (UC Santa Cruz)?

UCSC has the highest admission rate of all the UC campuses (81.6% for Fall 2007). Your GPA is a bit low, but about 64.4% of the applicants with the GPA range of 3.00-3.29 were accepted in Fall 2007; so your chances are not bad.

You can see the profiles of admitted students to UCSC for Fall 2007 (detailed breakdown of GPA, SAT, ACT, SAT II, and other statistics) at: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/resources/materials/ITU.pdf on page 45.

How much will a C accept my chances to UC Berkeley?

UC Berkeley is one of the top public universities in the world. Students who attend Berkeley have fairly high GPAs, with the average GPA being 3.87. Therefore, your potential C in mandarin will bring down your GPA quite strongly. However, colleges look for improvement. Having all As except in mandarin will show how you have improved from your sophomore year grades. Colleges also take into account the rigor of your coursework. Since you are planning on applying for EECS, mandarin does not have much to do with your actual intended major so Berkeley will take that into consideration. As long as you are able to keep up your grades senior year, you will still have a fairly high chance assuming you have an overall high GPA, strong test scores, and excellent essays.

Will a D hurt my chance of getting into a UC or CSU?

Yes, a D is very detrimental for a UC. UCs don’t like to see any D or F. You should have done everything and anything to get a C or just not take a class you can’t handle, sorry to say it is a delicate balance. If you can, replace the exact same class. Unfortunately I don’t think you can do a lab class online unless you have access to a wet lab for that portion. If you have to do the repeat in Sr year, you might consider a gap year and apply after Sr year so they can see all your record. Be sure to discuss this with your GC. (Do not take any CC class in a gap year so to preserve your freshman status).I personally know a student who had overall high grades in a good private Catholic school, but a D in honors chem and was denied at the UCs she applied to (this was some time ago and admissions are only more competitive now). Because of holistic admissions there is still a chance you can still get in, so do apply to a few anyway if you are a CA resident, and not just the most competitive. They will look at your overall profile.CSU may be a bit more forgiving. I know a student with mixed A and B but one D and one F who was accepted this year to CSU - San Bernardino. CSU = Fullerton asked for mid-year grades before answering.Don’t be depressed about it, it is already done with. Now spend your emotional energy planning for various scenarios.

What chances do I have of getting into a mid-tier UC with a 1460 SAT and 3.6 weighted GPA? I have numerous leadership extracurriculars and am above average at writing.

You have a good chance. The saying goes, you miss all the shots you don’t take. Take the shot.
