Very Confused On This Math Question Help

Please help, very confused on this math question!?

(r o q) (3) = r( q(3) )
(r o q) (3) = r( (3)^2 + 4 )
(r o q) (3) = r( 9 + 4 )
(r o q) (3) = r( 13 )
(r o q) (3) = √( 13 + 3 )
(r o q) (3) = √(16)
(r o q) (3) = 4

(q o r) (3) = q( r(3) )
(q o r) (3) = q( √( 3 + 3 ) )
(q o r) (3) = q( √(6) )
(q o r) (3) = ( √(6) )^2 + 4
(q o r) (3) = 6 + 4
(q o r) (3) = 10

Math Question, very confused! Need Help very soon?

The sticks have different units of length, but as we have their value for the same pond depth, we can convert between them. We just have to remember to count how many units they measured, by subtracting the start of their sticks from the answer they read off.

So the pond has depth x:

Alice measured x as 91 and her stick starts at 11, so that's a length of 80 Alice Units ("AU").
Denny measured x as 177, and his stick starts at 17, so that's a length of 160 Denny Units ("DU").

Both were measuring the same pond depth x.

So we can equate the two measurements:

80 AU = 160 DU
so 1 AU = 2 DU.

Denny measured Carla's height as 89, with a start of 17, that's a height of 72 DU.
Alice would measure 72 DU as 36 AU.

With a stick starting at 11, that would mean Alice would measure Carla's height as 36+11 = 47.

Hope that makes sense.

SOS A Math Question ! Please Help ME I am Confused ! ! Math is so hard!?

It would be far easier to explain a problem that you`re experiencing difficulties with. So, please post one.

The first one is, I hope:

rt50/rt2.

50 = 25 x 2 so we can write rt50 as rt(25 x 2). rt 25 is 5 since

5 x 5 = 25, so rt 50 simplifies to 5rt2.

So rt50/rt2

= 5rt2/rt2

= 5, cancelling by rt2.

2. 4/rt5 will not simplify further.

3. rt2/rt10

= rt2/rt(5 x 2)

= rt2/(rt5 rt2)

= 1/rt5, cancelling by rt2.

More examples:

rt(108)

= rt(36 x 3)

= rt36 x rt3

= 6rt3.

rt250

= rt(25 x 10)

=rt25 x rt 10

= 5rt10.

rt128

= rt(64 x 2)

= rt64 x rt2

= 8 rt2.

rt96

= rt(16 x 6)

= rt16 x rt6

= 4rt6.

rt800

= rt(400x 2)

= rt400 x rt2

= 20rt2.

Hope I`ve helped. Twiggy.

Math Question, very confused???

If 8 to the x power = 15 and 8 to the y power = 25, then 8 (to the 2x + y power) = ?

8 to the X = 15 (8^X=15) equals Log(base 8) * 15 = X
8 to the Y = 25 (8^Y=25) equals Log(base 8) * 25 = Y

(Log 15)/(Log 8) = X
(Log 25)/(Log 8) = Y

X = 1.3022968652
Y = 1.54795206326

8 to the (2X + Y) = ? equals 8^(2X+Y) = 5625

What is the most confusing question in math?

IF you can SOLVE THIS PROBLEM “correctly” in the time span of one minute, then no doubt you are a genius..This problem seems very simple..But trust me it is notFind the Number of squaresIt seems easy initially but once you will solve it..You will come to realise the Actual Difficulty Level..

Can someone please answer these math questions? Im very confused. Please explain and show your work on how you got your answer, 10 points to the person who can get me to understand these problems the best by showing their work.

(1 centimeter=195 miles)-Applies to all questions
(13.5 cm coast to coast)Applies to first question

1.)What would be the approximate driving time to travel the united states from coast to coast at an average speed of 55 miles per hour?

2.)An airplane averages 500 miles per hour. Choose 2 cities on the map (Seattle to Los Angeles) and find out how long would it take this plane to fly between them. (Seattle to L.A is 5 centimeters)

How far is it from Your city to chihuahua, Mexico
(Missoula to chihuahua is 6cm and 3/5)

Plzzzzzz answer math question, very confused??!!!!?

1 ) log (5^(5x - 20)) + 1 = x

Using the basic properties of logarithms (here, for example, log 5^3 = 3log 5)

(5x - 20) log(5) = x - 1

So log 5 = (x - 1) / (5x - 20)

log 5 = 0.6990, therefore

0.6990(5x - 20) = x - 1

3.495x - x = 13.98 - 1

So x = 12.98 / 2.495 = 5.2024
--------------------------------------...

2 ) (log 2^x) (log 4^x) = 8 If we factorize the 8 we get

(log 2^x) (log 4^x) = (2) (4)

So log 2^x = 2, and log 4^x = 4 We can re-write these logarithms as

x log2 = 2, therefore x = 2 / log 2 = 2 / 0.3010 = 6.6439

x log4 = 4 / log 4 = 4 / 0.6021 = 6.6439
--------------------------------------...

3 ) (2^2log x) (3^3log x) = 1 / 108 = 1 / (2².3³)

(2^2log x) (3^3log x) = (2^-2) (3^-3)

Comparing the exponents, we get

2^2log x = 2^-2

Hence 2log x = -2, so log x = -2/2 = -1

log x = -1, so x = 10^-1 = 1/10

Similarly, 3^3log x = 3^-3

So 3 log x = -3, log x = -3/3 = -1

log x = -1, so x = 10^ -1 = 1/10
--------------------------------------

These really are rather awkward equations to get to grips with, and if you are just learning logarithms I think it somewhat unfair to give these as exercises. I wouldn't be surprised if they confused you more than enlightened you.

But don't let them worry you. I really doubt that you will ever again encounter expressions like these outside of an exercise book. Just learn the basic rules for logarithms and move on. You can safely forget these.
