Vine Wont Let Me Make Videos Help

What is your review of Vine (app)?

★★★★So far I'm bullish on Vine's ability to hold the "instagram for video" moniker for an extended (year+) period of time. Others, particularly socialcam and viddy, were briefly given the crown (and $$) of "Instagram for video", but Vine largely succeeds where those fail. Why?A new social medium between photos and video: Unlike photos, which are the most social of all mediums, videos are difficult to quickly digest ('grok'). Users expect to spend <5 seconds / post in a social feed but it takes ~20 seconds to evaluate (content and merit) of the average UGC clip, and thus people are less likely to view and share videos in a social feed. Vine solves this in two ways: 1) the six second limit forces easily digestible & attention span-conscious content and 2) auto-playing videos is essentially a multimedia opt-in, pushing people past the decision-making hurdle of "should I watch this?".    Simplicity: Filming a video on a phone and fumbling around w/ editing sliders and cuts is a pain (YouTube's Capture app is very well done though). Filming a Vine (a video on Vine? what's the correct nomenclature?) is easier than posting a photo on Instagram - pretty hard to mess up. Distribution: Socialcam and Viddy both saw a boom in traffic from Facebook Open Graph integration (Socialcam vs Viddy) that not only was unsustainable, but likely directly led to their demise (they weren't ready for the massive influx, everyone had a bad experience and they had no time to optimize). Vine is owned by Twitter and so far Twitter's showing impressive restraint in managing Twitter/Vine integration. Enough power users will adopt Vine for Twitter to test & iterate and then once ready Twitter will increase Vine distribution through the main feed. Finally, remember that today's iteration is only v1. I heard Kevin Systrom say that Instagram filters allowed people to immediately and easily make photos cooler but Twitter could never add a button to make people's tweets more insightful or funny. In the next 6-12 months I expect Vine to add basic filters, music overlays, auto-stabilization and more to make it even easier for people to record magic bite-sized memories.

Help! My baby iguana wont let me hold him?

Your iguana sounds like a typical new environment iguana to me. It can take awhile for him/her to settle into his/her new environment. Some things to try, of course it wont happen over night, could take a few weeks for him/her to settle down ... place the wrist of your hand on the edge of the enclosure (hopefully its at least 55gallon if the iguana is young then 8-10months of age) w/ resting the palm of your hand at the edge of the tank you put your hand into the enclosure, not too far down in the tank, just let it sit there for 5mins 1-3 times a day, your iguana will most likely still "flip out" but in time he/she will get used to it ... another thing to try, just sit next to the enclosure and talk to your iguana in your normal speaking voice, read a book, talk about the weather, just anything you wanna talk to him/her about ... You may also have to take everything out of the enclosure for you to be able to pick up your iguana, after bath time is a great bonding time. It can take 6months to 1yr to more years for an iguana to trust you as his/her slave. Iguanas can be dominate or submissive, if you back down from trying to get your iguana out every time, your iguana may become more dominate then you wish. You will have a 50/50 chance if your iguana will accept you as his/her slave.

Hopefully your iguana has the correct temps that he/she needs ... and good UVB light. Some so called UVB on the market can cause eye damage to reptiles and some after just 100hrs of usage do not provide the UVB he/she needs. Hopefully you are feeding the proper staple greens.

If you bought your iguana from a pet store, please have checked over by a herp/reptile vet, many pet store iguanas do have mites and/or parasites. Here are some listings for vets:

Androids can't watch/play videos on instagram!?

So , I have a HTC inspire. Instagram has recently put a new update so that people can make videos (like vine) . Well I updated it and its not working !! Does anyone know how to fix this or have the same problem ?

Why can't I upload a video to Instagram with my Android device? Pictures upload just fine.

I’ve encountered that few times as well. Try the common debugging options like restarting the app (and phone), clearing the app cache. Next see if you have good connection (faster wifi would be ideal).Of course make sure your video is not more than 60 seconds in length. You should still be able to open the video on Instagram, but you need to trim it.What helped me was simply not posting the video right away. While you write your post caption the video is already being uploaded. If you hit post before the video is actually uploaded it can time out while “processing” so try waiting few minutes on the caption editing screen before posting the video. As this answer has been getting a lot of views, I decided add few more things here.Try uploading the same video from different internet connection. Instagram doesn't play nice with all internet connections and as these files tend to be large you might encounter issues.Try uploading the same video from different account. If that works, then it might be just a temporary issue with your main account. So try again later.Try uploading the video from different device.Try uploading a different video (preferably smaller one). If that works than look at the file size of the video file you wanted to upload in the first place. Maybe it’s unreasonably big (as in few GB or something)? Try compressing it first. And of course keep in mind that videos take time to be uploaded, so be patient. I’ve waited like 5 min for few videos (crazy right?).Hope that helps!Hit me up in Instagram, if you need assistance. Also if you’re interested in growing your Instagram account. I’ve put together a free e-mail course for you!Cheers,Johannes

Why did Twitter elect to shutdown Vine rather than sell it?

Twitter is in Titanic mode. Giant, useful, but sinking. Why did Twitter shut Vine?Instead of keeping up with the competition just for the sake of it and wasting resources in oblivion, Twitter decided to cut the not-so-fancy arm and focus on its core. With Facebook desperately and shamelessly trying to be Snapchat, Vine had little chances to survive. Twitter is now trying helplessly to align with the basics – to share what is happening now. Live streaming & customer service is on top of their rescue plan and it was intelligent to let short looping standalone video service, Vine, to go. Twitter chose to bet on Periscope and it seems right.Twitter can not afford to innovate on the Vine as much as Facebook is burning its oil to become Snapchat.Snapchat, the most virile competitor is growing along with the users. Now when most of the user base of snapchat is 20ish, Snapchat is seriously considering to offer some sort of insights. Vine could not innovate or copy, so it had to die.It is survival of the fittest in its most practical example. It was sad that Vine founder Rus Yusupov tweeted thisWhy Twitter did not sell Vine?Twitter is already struggling with a mammoth task to find a buyer for itself. Also it would be a blow to Twitter’s public image to sell the app for a not-so-handsome amount. Added to all of this would be merger and acquisition woes. The clear winner from Vine’s demise is the yellow ghost.

Crested Gecko won't let me hold him?

I think most gecko/lizards are like this when you first get them. like others have said don't force him or grab at him, he'll just get stressed out and it'll make him wary about coming to you again. you've just gotta let him get used to you. I had to do the same when I first got my gecko (leopard gecko) I used to place my hand flat at the bottom of his tank for a short while everyday and let him come to me, sniff around and just investigate who I was. I didn't move or try to touch him. It takes patience because it's worth it in the end. If you do this then sooner or later he'll eventually climb onto your hand and let you hold him
