Want To Be A Actor How Do I Start

Wanting to start acting at age 16?

I know that this question has been asked so, so many times, but I don't think people had asked it the way I would. Alright, so, basically I fell in love with acting. I started to watch movies differently. I watched the actors faces, their expressions, and trying to notice parts where the acting is seen, but it amazed me that I just couldn't spot it, they just looked completely natural. Well, I got a camera, and started to improvise and say scripts as naturally as I could. After playing the video back, I noticed my acting could be seen. Well, I started acting all around my house, by taking a character out of a movie, and pretending to be him/her. What I noticed, is that after pretending for a certain amount of time, my movements became natural, I kind of changed. I wasn't me anymore, I was that character, I almost completely forgot that I was me. That's when I said "whoa", because it was really awesome. Then, I started thinking that I could do better at naturally delivering lines. I started reading texts as naturally as I could. It was all working out great, and I started thinking I could really do this.

Then I thought "What if I'm too old to develop this skill?". I was thinking that there would be a certain limit to what I can learn, and a limit of how naturally I can act. And other things, like it not working out as a career, because I have no idea how much it takes to be payed a decent amount of money. Things, like I'm just an average person, I can't imagine myself becoming an actor (much preferably a film actor). That I JUST started to absolutely love acting.

I really don't know what to do. I would love acting, but I'm being told that it's a gift, and that can't be changed. You either can do it, or you cant, and I think I can't (at least for now, if that's not true). Acting is a beautiful art form to learn. I just don't know if it's possible to learn. I'm willing to give up so much for acting.

p.s. I'm a male (if it helps), and terribly sorry about my spelling and grammar and other things.. I'll get better. Oh, and I did act once in preschool. I was the lead role of pinokio, although, I can't remember how good I was.

Thank you.

I want to be an actor; How should I start?

If you are serious about wanting to act, read every play you can get hold of, read books, go to a theatre club or stage group and learn everything you can. Singing is often required so join a choir or singing group - dance is really useful too.
Work hard at all your school subjects and get as many good grades as you can so you can get onto a high school course including Drama or Performing Arts, and also ideally subjects like Psychology, English, Sociology, etc. Take an interest in everything. Then apply for a drama school.
You are looking at years of hard work, very little glamour, terrible rates of pay – if any – doing odd jobs in bars, shops, offices, etc, just to pay the bills while you’re auditioning for acting work. It’s not something you should even be considering unless you’re totally passionate about acting and can’t imagine doing anything else. You’ll probably never be famous, or make much money, but if it’s what you really want, go for it. If it’s just a nice idea because it sounds fun and exciting and so on, forget it.

I want to become an actress but how do I start?

Cheesy and lame maybe, but I think I've made up my mind in wanting that.

Thing is I have no clue on how to start or what to do and how to lose my extreme shyness (sp?) yeah I'm shy but want to become an actress so how do I work that out?

I'm also 16 now, I'm starting my job next month to raise money if needed. I moved back to brasil so the chances are extremely low, but that's what the money is for, to move back to us and stuff.

Its gonna be tough work but all worth it for me.

I read in a few actors and actresses I like and others very famous on how they began their career, most of them went to acting school? So I'm guessing I will have too?

If so how much? What's it like?

I love acting around when no ones around, but not in front of others! So how to work this out and how do I start after moving back to us? Oh and is there a sertan age you have to start? I mean how do younger actors and actresses started?

I want to become one because I want to get money to help my mom and dad with the bills and stuff.

How do I start acting???

1.Ok i wanna start acting. But I am a 13-almost 14 year old girl. I feel way too old though. Like most people who are acting have been in top acting schools since they were LITTLE, like 3 or 4. My family cant really afford that. Anyway I really want to start acting but I dont nowhere t o start. Also, does it take a LONG time to build up your acting career? Cause ive seen girls who have been acting since they were 5, (well in acting classes and agencies), but they still havent landed anything major.

2. Ok. I dont know. Like am I right to be an actress? I mean there are times where I dont wanna be dramatic or put on a show. Are "real" actresses always ready to act". Am I just wrong to be an actress if im not always in the mood?

3. Can you get "famnous" by doing indie films before you audition for big films. Like say I did 5 indie films, then I wanna try to be in a big film. Will that give me leverage against the others? Do indie films help any, or will they push me down?

4. is it easier to get a part in an indie film, or is there STILL even more competition?

5. From what you've found out about me, do you think im right to act?

Please give me some advice. I feel sooooo lost, idk where to start.

I'm 19 and just decided I want to become an actor. Where should I begin?

Where are you?  What do you look like?  If you're good-looking and/or young-looking (i.e., you could pass for a minor) go to LA, take some acting classes, and start looking for an agent.  I knew lots of people in their 20s who made good money playing underage in movies, TV and commercials.  No one is going to expect you to have much of a resume at this point, so a lot depends on your looks, and if you get your foot in the door, your personality and talent. If you want to be a serious actor and/or you are not spectacular- or young-looking, either look for a good acting school or a college or conservatory with a good theatre department.  Do your research.  See who has graduated from those programs.  A good college program should have some sort of showcase for agents and casting directors that they put on with their seniors.  Or access to regional auditions. Or both.  You'll need to take acting and/or on-camera classes no matter what.  But doing your research is important.  Anyone can put out a shingle and call themselves an acting teacher.  And many colleges have theatre programs that won't do a thing for you.If you decide to go the straight-to-looking for work route, it's best that you be in NY, LA or Chicago.  There are acting opportunities in other places, but they exist in much greater numbers in those cities.  If you want to concentrate on film and TV, the place with the most opportunities for that is LA, although they do film things in other places, obviously. No matter where you go, just try to put yourself out there, as much as you can.  Perform as much as you can.  Go to as many auditions as you can get into.  Just don't ever pay an agent to represent you.  That's a big no-no, and if anyone ever asks you for money for that or insists you use a certain photographer, run.  That would be a scam artist, IN EVERY CASE.  All the unions prohibit such behavior. It's difficult to succeed, but plenty of people you've never heard of make decent livings as actors.  It takes luck and talent.  I wish you both.
