West Borough Baptist Whose Members

Why are the members of Westboro Baptist Church the only true Christians?

I have no idea, but im just glad people finally see that there all crazy.

How do members of other Baptist churches view the Westboro Baptist Church?

As a lifelong Baptist, I view them as anti-Christ.Christ said, “Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭ESVThat is the passage that comes to mind when I see Westboro in the news.

Why don’t the members of the westboro Baptist Church see the error of their ways?

Q: Why don’t the members of the Westboro Baptist Church see the error of their ways? Some think it’s because litigation is a major money earner. Why would they change what they’re doing if it creates revenue? The reviled Westboro Baptist Church makes a ton of money by suing communities that don't let them protest. The group has become proficient at filling its coffers through litigation against those who violate their constitutional rights.”But looking at what numbers I can find, they might only make enough money to pay for the travel costs of picketing, so I’m inclined to think they believe what they say. There’s always going to be a fringe element in society. Its just unfortunate that this fringe element understand how to best use the laws to push their hated and hateful opinions on others.ImagesIt’s appalling. But their vulgar displays and tasteless cries for attention, net them a reasonably hateful yet WBC positive outcome. They get attention that they wouldn’t normally get since they’re a fringe group that should have been consigned to the shadows long ago and the opportunity to litigate. I mean… look at them.I don’t think they’ll ever see the error of their ways. I also think that you’d be wasting your time trying to change that lot. They’re probably the greatest thing to happen for irreligion given that they actively drive people away from faith. If some are smart enough to abandon them, that would be great though…But I think, the best thing we can do is not take them seriously. In that spirit, I present to you, the best times that Westboro Baptist Chuch being rightfully mocked:I urge you to read about the time WBC was expertly trolled by the Foo Fighters: Dave Grohl explains why Foo Fighters 'RickRolled' the Westboro Baptist Church. (I fricken love Dave Grohl). A Youtube link to another peice of awesomeness by the Foo fighters: LinkOr for sheer amusement, feel free to admire: 35 Times The Westboro Baptist Church Lost BadlyOne of the things that restores my faith in humanity is for every one of these hateful morons in Westboro Baptist Church, there are thousands of people who actively work against them.Smart people think sh*t through before acting. Dumb asses advertise their ignorance…with loud signs in the case of Westboro Baptist Church.

Why are members of the Westboro Baptist Church full of so much hate?

Judging by the one and only sermon of Fred Phelps' that I forced myself to listen to (in which he fumed to his congregation about how, quote, "fag shit and fag semen" was being "smeared on our Bahble"), honestly… the man doth protest far too much. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest, had he lived longer, if Fred Phelps would have pulled a Ted Haggard (another vocally anti-gay evangelist) and been caught with his pants down snorting cocaine off a male prostitute's ass. Those who are most vociferously anti-gay are often harboring insecurity over their own identity and, having been told all their life that gay tendencies are "of the devil" and that the attraction they feel is abominable, it creates a fundamental conflict inside of them which will find a way to boil out.Just look at Omar Mateen, a regular at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida who came back and shot up the place. Granted, Mateen was also diagnosed bipolar, but had he not been raised by a pro-Taliban extremist who taught him his own orientation was something excrable in the eyes of God, he likely would not have married against his orientation to satisfy family pressure (an unhappy marriage by all accounts) only to sneak off to gay bars at night behind her back. He would have had no reason to be so conflicted about his sexuality, and the frustration and shame compounding from that likely never would have boiled over in the way it ultimately did. It's very telling that the most heavily religious countries (and US states) also tend to be the heaviest consumers of gay porn.

Is Pat Robertson a member of Westboro Baptist Church?

Same type of nut, but a different fruitcake.

Can anyone become a member of the Westboro Baptist Church?

If your transgender why would you associate your self and your children with orgainizations that reject you and your children. If you want to oppose your Atheist father why not find a Church such as the Episcopal Church of America that is LGBTQ affirming has a gay Bishop, allows Priests to perform Gay Wedding ceremonies to join. In this way you reject his atheism yet maintain your own and your kids self respect all while joining a loving and supportive congregation.

What is the membership number of Westboro Baptist Church? Is it going down? Have any members of WBC left it and shared their prior life?

Not sure of the exact number - but it is really small and mostly comprised of member of a family group. There is at least one member that had left and it publicly talking about it. I have linked a TED Talk that she did a while back.I grew up in the Westboro Baptist Church. Here's why I left

To what extent do members of the Westboro Baptist Church adhere to the bible?

Without being one of the Westboro people it is hard to say how they actually read the Bible. But from our external observations it appears likely that many of them barely read the Bible. They appear to pick and choose the bits like want -others- to conform with. Not unlike most exclusivist cults, they frame their practices and identity around who is in and who is out.Westboro are anything but orthodox Christians - in belief or practice. Sadly they are not the only ones out there - thankfully they are very much a minority.Personally when I read the story of Jesus in the New Testament I see a person who goes out of his way to include people. He invites them into living out a new reality - where all of humanity is loved - where justice and mercy are fused by grace - where we practice concern, care and compassion for others - because God demonstrated this first for us.

Which are worse? Scientologists or Westboro Baptists?

Westboro, they are hateful and un-Christian. They do nothing but incite hate against any group of people they do not like.

Westboro Baptist Church Members only actual christians?

No.

God loves all people unconditionally. This means there are no conditions needed to be met to merit His love. God loves the worst sinner just as much as He loves the best saint. Being Love, God can do nothing else.

This does not mean that He approves of all of our actions. As any good parent can attest, there is a fundamental difference between love and approval. Some people call this "love the sinner, hate the sin."

Anyone who states, "God hates these people or those people" does not understand basic Christianity.

Here are a couple of quotes about God as Love from C. S. Lewis that I really like:

"He [God] has paid us the intolerable compliment of loving us, in the deepest, most tragic, most inexorable sense. .... Love, in its own nature, demands the perfecting of the beloved; ... mere "kindness" which tolerates anything except suffering in its object is, in that respect, at the opposite pole from Love."

"You ask for a loving God; you have one ... not a senile benevolence that drowsily wishes you to be happy in your own way, not the cold philanthropy of a conscientious magistrate, not the care of a host who feels responsible for the comfort of his guests, but the CONSUMING FIRE HIMSELF, the Love that made the worlds, persistent as the artist's love for a child, jealous, inexorable, exacting as love between the sexes..."

"The only place outside Heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love is Hell."

With love in Christ.
