What Are Good Safe Areas Near Or In Orlando Florida To Live

Where is a good area to live in around Orlando, FL?

I'm looking to move away from the Orlando area.
It's rated #18 on most dangerous cities.. that's one above Compton.
A series of break-ins w/rapes and child abduction attempts/rape lately.. even in what are considered upscale areas.
They still haven't caught the Eastside rapist/possibly murderer towards UCF. They're really good at picking at traffic violations, pot, and arresting for open container though.
I'm planning on the Gulf.

Safe to live in Orlando, FL?

It's not the best neighborhood, but it is livable. Between OBT and Texas Ave it is congested with older apartment complexes. They look nice and are mostly well maintained but it can be rough. Just north of there is a condo complex called Tymberskan. Avoid it at all costs. But there are other small condo's in the area that are livable. Between Texas and John Young Pkwy there is an older neighborhood of small houses. After crossing John Young it converts to Conroy road and the Apartments are newer, pricier and a bit safer. This is near the Millenia Mall - Very Upscale

Is Orlando, Florida a nice place to live?

Well, where do I begin, Orlando is a beautiful place to live but the summers are really hot. You'll have to adjust to the heat and humidity. As in any city there are good areas and bad areas. I wish I knew where in Orlando you might be relocated to if you get the job. Apartments aren't that cheap. The rule to live by in Orlando is the less you pay the worse the neighborhood. You are better off finding the area you most prefer then trying to find a rental from an owner or a realty company. It's much cheaper than renting from a apartment management company and much more flexible. I am a 36 year Florida native and I know this state back and forth and up and down. Email me directly from my link and I'll speak with you on a one on one basis. Moving to a new city is hard unless you have someone to give you knowledge first hand.

Best places to live in or near Orlando Florida?

Depends on your price range and if you want a house/apartment/condo, etc...

Someone mentioned Metro West which is a nice area as long as you stay closer towards Conroy-Windermere RD and not Colonial (aka 50), although it is definitely a huge price difference within that short distance. Dr.Phiilips is nearly identical to Metro West just a little pricier, nicer, and "older".
Windermere is a gorgeous area not far from Disney (about 20minutes) but no where near tourists. A lot of Orlando celebrities stay in Windermere so it definitely is "high end" and pricey.
Celebration I've seen from afar but know that it is pricey to stay there. Someone said that they have the best hospital in Orlando area, I disagree 100%, they were the rudest bunch I have ever met the few times I had to go there.
Kissimmee is not the place for you if you want to get away from Disney, nothing but tourists there.
Hunter's Creek is where 90% of Hispanics live, and there are Spanish shops and restaurants everywhere, but a real nice area.
Currently I live in Clermont, just down the road from Disney and is a fairly new area so prices are probably the lowest in the area that you can get. Although the closest mall is FL Mall and about 45minutes away.

I have lived in Central FL for the past few yrs and graduated from high school here, so if you have any more questions please feel free to ask.

Is orlando, fl a safe place to live?

I lived in Orlando for 3 years. There are some areas to avoid, and then there are areas that are really nice. I lived near Disney, at a complex called Camden World Gateway. The apartments there are really nice, the staff is really nice, and I enjoyed living there for the time that I did. I'd def move back there if I ever went back to Orlando. Avoid moving downtown unless you like traffic. The traffic is pretty awful in the AM and at night too. Plus I'm not sure as to how safe it is. Anywhere near the Disney area will have traffic as well, but it's relatively safe. There's an area called Dr. Philips which is really nice, and it's located near Universal Studios. The only thing is that it's a little expensive there, but it's really nice. There are also some nice areas in Kissimmee, FL, which is right outside Orlando, but you have to be careful because that city can also be *quite* ghetto. There's another city near Downtown called Winter Haven, and it's pretty nice there too, I have some friends in that area. There's another area I'd avoid if I were you called ''Metrowest'', it's also near Universal but I've heard some bad things go on around that area, although it looks completely innocent.

I think that Orlando is very safe to live if you look at the right areas. However, I think if you want more for your money you should look at the cities right outside Orlando, because housing is probably cheaper than it would be right in the city.
