What Are Some Good Career Options

What would be some good career options for an INFJ?

- Language professor
- Health counselor
- Philologist
- Environmental Engineering
- Anything related to education INFJ are excellent educationalists since they give from their heart especially when it's related to Moral Philosophy
- Nutritionist
- My friend is an INFJ and i keep on telling her to switch her major to Sociology since it seems to me like the perfect major for her but since she's gone too far into her current major (finance which she dislikes) she hesitates about switching even though she does like sociology. I personally find INFJ best suited to be sociologists

Is being a dentist a good career option?

(My boyfriend is in dental school and I helped him get in so I'm going from that)

-Hours are not really flexible, most dentists work from 8-5 Monday-Friday.
-You can ease anxiousness by demonstrating on a plastic model and/or explaining what you'll be doing. You'll figure out what it best for your client.
-It can be stressful at times. Maybe not so much with your clients but opening your own dental clinic is like running a small business (you have to gain clients, advertise, pay your employees, manage time, money etc).

To get into a dental school:
-You apply *a year* in advance!
-Great overall GPA
-Great Science GPA
-A personal statement of why you want to be a dentist
-At least 3 references (2 from professors/employer, and one from a dentist you have been observing)
-You must volunteer your time to observe a dentist, also go to those free dental clinics
-Have a great interview with the school (they contact you for this part)

This website helped my boyfriend a lot when he was applying (Stats on all the different schools): http://www.predents.com/

-Lastly, sometimes you won't get into dental school on the first shot after you get your undergrad degree. Don't be discouraged, just get all your stuff together early and apply the next year. Schools LOVE experience: volunteer, volunteer, volunteer!

Good luck to you!

Is a writer a good career option?

Less than 5% of writers make a full time living at it, unless you are considering a field like journalism. If you want to write books or do freelance work, I would be prepared with a plan for a day job to pay your bills while you write.

There's no standard pay for writers. Typically, a first book will probably net the author less than $5,000. For every Rowlings or King out there, hundreds of other authors are making little to no money on their books.

But if you have a passion for it, it's worth it!

What are some good career options in engineering after 12th?

IT course would be a great choice, because it is one of the booming sector. If you want to do IT course, then B. Sc. Computer Science course could be a smart choice. You can get the same knowledge and practical exposure as engineering course in only 3 years. But for doing course in BSc Computer Science, you have to be very strong in Mathematics because in almost each semester there will be Mathematics paper. After completion of course, you can join any IT companies as well as can sit for govt sector jobs.

What are some lesser known but good career options after graduating from IIT?

Every person who is aspiring to graduate from IIT will have a purpose behind and you must be no exception.  So, pursue whatever interests you have in mind with enthusiasm and zeal without bothering about success or failure.  The satisfaction one derives from doing what is your passion is much greater. For IITs, there are many options because you have developed your analytical skills and minutely vet any proposals.  If economically sound, you can start your own set up and give a try to your innovative ideas.  You can also take up some social causes and see how you can help under privileged people viz., physically challenged, students from orphanages, senior citizens.  There are some Corporates who fund for these causes and would like an able person to head and execute the tasks.  This could be a satisfying career option.   I personally feel an IIT can do anything and they are capable of finding out their own career options.  Best wishes.

What are some good career options after BA/MA in psychology in India?

Hi Neha,I am sure you have some valid reason to take up Psychology as your main subject because you love this subject.Just doing BA in Psychology is not going to help you find any good career. You need to do MA in Psychology.I feel you take up job of teaching and counselling in schools / colleges and even in hospitals to help people. If you prove to be a good counsellor - you can find job with rehabilitation centers.Honestly, Psychology is an interesting subject and you get opportunity to meet and interact with people and help them survive stress and trauma in their lives.

Is microbiology a good career option?

I'm in high school right now and basically considering every career option in the world and I find microbiology quite fascinating. Does it have an employment scope in India? If not India, then what are some other countries that have good research facilities for microbiology?

And how long does it take to complete the studies and be a proper microbiologist?

What are good career options that allows me to travel most of the time?

I am currently a freshman in college(yes, I know, I'm thinking to early!), and am in love with travel and learning about other cultures. I know German almost fluently(my major), and will probably be learning a second language. I want to double major in something else which will make me more valuable in the work force. I HATE my international relations class, and was wondering if sociology will help in the long run...What careers will allow me to travel and work hard and challenge me at the same time, and what other study should I need besides a language, which will help me get that job??
