What are some simple dinner recipes that cost less than $10 to make?

I used to eat this when I was in collegeSteamed rice / 1 cup = $0.40 a cup ( 25 lb bag @ $20 )chicken leg quarter / 1 each = $1.25 ( 1 lb = 0.89 )frozen corn or peas or carrots / 1/2 lb = $0.50 ( 2 lb bag = $2.00 )I would plan ahead and go to food for less or that type or grocery store… Buy the food in bulk… And then portion the chicken in freezer bags. I would pull out the chicken from the freezer and place it in the fridge when I woke up. This way it would be thawed out when I got home at night. I would come home from work or school… put the rice in a rice cooker, get the chicken and used shake and bake or seasoned bread crumbs.. Put it in the toaster oven, and put the frozen veggies into a pot on low and went to take a shower. Usually when I got done and found something to watch the food would be ready. This meal got me through college on just around $2.00 for dinner. I was 19 living by myself and going to school and working as a server.

What are some good dishes to make for dinner?

My favorite dinner is Pasta Al Pomodoro (it’s very cheap and takes ~15 minutes)I first tried this kind of pasta in Vapiano restaurant and liked it so much. I learned how to recreate it from this video. There are no exact proportions and measurements, but the idea is very simple :)Boil water and put your favorite pasta in there (I like spaghetti!), salt it and cook 1-2 minutes until al dente (usually it's indicated on the package how much time you need until al dente, but the best way -- just try your pasta). Now it's time for our sauce! Put olive oil with minced garlic on medium heat. When garlic starts getting brown color, put tomato sauce in there (I just use cheapest canned tomatoes) and season it (salt, pepper and basil!). You can also put cherry tomatoes, but it's optional. Cook it for 2-3 minutes. When there are 1-2 minutes left for pasta until al dente, put your pasta in the pan with some pasta water (20-30 mL of pasta water is very important, because you need to finish cooking your pasta with tomato sauce, and pasta water is needed to stick tomato sauce to your pasta!). Cook it for 1-2 minutes until al dente.Serve it as in the picture :). I like to put little amount of pepper and grate parmesan cheese on top.My Original postEnjoy!

What are some good dinner ideas?

We grill all the time during the summer it's hot out and we usually want something light,

So right now, we might grill some shrimp and put it on a salad, have shrimp bruschetta, eat it on pasta with Margarita sauce, Alfredo sauce or make into fajitas.
Salmon and Sushi grade tuna are other favorites, we often use a Ginger and Sesame marinade.
Chicken marinated in Italian is versatile, we might eat it with some veggies, on a salad, in a taco, on a sandwich.
Tilapia or Mahi Mahi makes for a great fish taco or just served with simple sides. It's also good with some pecan, macadamia or pecan crust and served with veggie sides.
Tuna salad stuffed tomatoes,
turkey (whatever deli meats you prefer) sandwich or wraps,
a great shrimp & crab cocktail with avocado (have it steamed at the seafood market so you save time)
