What Are Some Strong Candles

What are the best candles for strong fragrance?

I love the febreze candles.

How can I reduce the scent of candles that are just TOO strong?

I haven't even burned them and the smell is overwhelming. And I hadn't planned on burning them; I just bought them because they go perfectly with a candle holder I'm using as a decorative accessory.

Strongest smelling yankee candles ?

Hi, Lemon lavender is a nice scent but then I love lavender http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&... Hope this helps.

What makes strong scented soy candles stand out from other candles?

Soy candles can have varying results depending on many factors, such as: wax blend, type and manufacturer of fragrance oils… even down to specific scents, wax additives, fragrance loading by weight, wax temperature when adding scent, and even cure time.It is easy to make a miscalculation which results in the candle scent being “locked in” the wax. This is where you put in sufficient scent so as the candles should have both cold and hot scent throw in a room …yet they dont hardly smell at all.As a candlemaker, with all these variables, its best to start with premium materials and to keep it simple. Once you have the basic down you can tweak changes one at a time and measure the results. There are lots of trials and errors here waiting to be worked through.

Where can I buy the best soy candle making kits?

The only thing about ordering candle kits from eBay or Amazon is that you don’t always know the quality of the stuff you’re getting. Also if you need support there is no one you can really reach out to and ask. Lastly, if you do some comparison shopping, for what you get it can actually be more expensive to get your supplies on Amazon or eBay.There are a number of candle making supply companies out there. If you want to make soy candles I’d suggest checking out CandleScience:Their candle making kits can be found here: Candle Making KitsAlso, if you have technical questions they have helpful customer service and tutorials that can help you get started.Good Luck!

Who makes the best scented candles?

I haved worked at Yankee Candle for years, and let me tell you that I have 100% faith in our candles!! They have strong scent (not an overwhelming, headache strong) and they last a LONG time. I have had my Cinnamon Appleberry jar for over a year, and I still have 1/2 left (I burn it for about an hour or two just to get the scent, then I blow it out so I can save it!) I advise you get a large jar, though. The large jars burn over double the time of a medium, and they are only $3.00 more. It's well worth it!

Also, we sell something called an "Illuma Lid." It sits right on top of a medium or large jar, and it: helps to catch soot, is decorative, and helps to reduce the flickering of the flame (caused by drafts), which in turn, makes the candle more efficient when burning and makes it burn for evenly. The Illuma lid is 9.99, but WELL worth it. I have one, and I switch it around with my different jars...

For fall, some good scents are: Pumpkin Pie, Spiced Pumpkin, Harvest, Autumn Wreath, Autumn Leaves, Macintosh, etc...
For Thanksgiving, Cranberry Chutney is a big seller...
For Christmas (or the holidays): Balsam and Cedar, Christmas Eve, Christmas Cookie, Feliz Navidad, Sparkling Vanilla, Sparkling Cinnamon, White Chocolate Mint, etc...

My advice: go into a Yankee Store and smell the candles. Yes, you can buy them online, but you can't smell them online. And yes, places like Hallmark have our candles, but it is a poor selection compared to what you can get at an actual Yankee store. Go to the Yankee website and check for a store near your location. They have many stores. There will be a Colombus Day sale on, I think, November 11th. So you may be able to find some good deals...
GOOD LUCK and HAPPY HUNTING! :)

ALSO!! Here is a tidbit. Many stores (I have heard Target is one) only soak the top part of the wax in scent. So when you open the jar, you can smell the scent. But once you burn through the top 1/4 to 1/2 of the jar, it loses scent because they don't soak their wax all of the way through. That is one of the reasons Yankee's have such great scent is because they soak them competely! :)

Do candle warmers really make candles last longer?

Warmers don't disperse the scent as much because the temperature is lower than if the candle was burned. Some candle companies don't recommend using candle warmers because there is a risk of the glass breaking or even exploding. This can happen when heat melts and expands the wax on the bottom and the wax on the top is still cold and solid prevents upward expansion. The increasing pressure on the glass from the expanding warm wax can cause it to break. It is usually safer to burn a candle most of the way down and then use the warmer toward the end. If you want more fragrance, consider getting a simmer pot and using tarts or melts ("wickless" candles). Since tarts are not meant to be burned, they can contain more fragrance oils than can be safely put in a candle.

What is the best way to ask a co-worker to stop burning candles in the office?

You should speak to HR or the office manager privately to address your concerns. Then, they can speak to her about it. I'm surprised that she is allowed to do this since it can be a fire hazard with all the papers. :\ I know how you must be feeling because certain smells give me a headache too.

Good luck to you.

STRONG scented candles that actually WORK? Affordable?

I have tried the pricey ones from Yankee Candle with essential oils even added to them, the generic Wal-Mart ones, the ones from Bath & Body Works, AND I have tried the Betty Crocker ones.

Of all these, even the cheapo walmart ones, the Betty Crocker ones had NO SCENT what-so-ever. It smelled like burning wax when lit - but smelled great when NOT lit...what gives?

The candles themselves were very strong, just NOT when lit.

If you know of some or have used some affordable candles that actually emit a strong scent please let me know. In particular my favorite scents are sugar cookies, gingerbread, vanilla, apple cinnamon, and lavender.

Thanks a bunch.... :)
