What is your worst school subject?

crap! am i suppose to be in high school to be on this forum?

What are the subjects you do at high school?

I'm here from Ireland. We have two main exams the Junior Cert (what I'm studying for currently) and the Leaving Cert (just before college/university).These are the subjects that I'm doing:Irish - the national language, compulsory from Junior Infants up to Sixth Year.English - also compulsory.Maths - you guessed it, also compulsory.Science - the three main branches, Biology, Chemistry, Physics. It doesn't split into a separate subject for each until Leaving Cert.History - mainly Irish and European history, but with some world history thrown in as well.Geography - not Paris is the capital city of Fance etc. But more about climates and how volcanoes form.C.S.P.E. - Civil Social Political Education, a bit of information on human rights, democracy, law, stewardship and other stuff.Religious Education - compulsory in my school (unfortunately). Education about world religions with a strong bias towards Catholicism.Woodwork - making things out of wood and theory on types of wood, wood conversion.Business Studies - how businesses are run, some accounting and economics as well.Spanish - the Spanish language, learning to speak it.All of these subjects have a higher (honours) level and ordinary (pass). I do all honours, not a very rare thing.

How do you make yourself like a school subject?

Well in my experience, you can never "force" anyone to do anything. Ever. Period. However, you can try and "influence" themIf you will. In my case, I'm "horrible" at math. It's because I really have a here time with it. I never have understood it. All the other three main academic subjects I'm fine in, but math? Forget it! I just basically freeze up and get all nauseous and anxiety filled thinking about it! Pretty bad because I need to go to bed as well...I would try that you pay attention in clad age take notes and ask a lot of good questions. Stay after and get help from your teachers. They are here to help you and want whsts best for you!!

What were your best subjects in school and what were your worst? What subject would you say has had the most value in your life?

Best subjects:Math. I really enjoy this subject. I feel that I can relate the concepts in it to things in life very well. Sometimes I wonder about how people go from basic things like adding and subtracting numbers to fractions and decimals to imaginary numbers and so on and so forth.Worst subjects:English. It’s okay-ish. My teachers don’t really teach much about improving grammar or techniques to improve writing skills, they usually focus more on stories like Othello or To Kill a Mockingbird.P.E. Weights class is better.Health. Boring and just way too easy.History. Mostly boring.Government. Also boring.Music. I hate all of my music classes with a burning passion and so I have not taken any music classes since 6th grade (and I probably shouldn’t have taken a music class in 6th grade).Theatre. I don’t enjoy being at the center of attention and memorizing a bunch of lines.French. I can learn this or almost any other languages on my own time if I really wanted to.Computer science. This class is just really bad at my school; the school has a lot of trouble with giving students the freedom of being creative and inventive, and keeping their security strong, as a result, being creative feels routine and tedious. Oh, they also make learning the basics (the syntax) to a language take forever. I can learn the basics of Java programming in just a day or two.Computer Programming. This class is also really really bad; This class is basically entirely Codecademy. I literally just sat around all day in that class doing nothing because I had already completed the Codecademy courses before I joined this class. Codecademy is nice when you’re new to learning this kind of subject but actually doing projects is what teaches you how to program and the concepts to it.

What is or was your favorite subject in school?

EnglishBecause I had the most supportive teachers throughout all my classes from std. V onwards.Because I'd read through every English textbook from class 5 to class 10, before the start of class 5.And because I could answer questions on them when asked in class as to why I wasn't paying attention and reading novels from the library instead.Because I spent hours reading the passages from Wren and Martin, when other children were reading Tinkle digest and Chacha Choudhary.Because nobody ever got more marks than me in English exams, and I would write the answers for all the questions in the paper, including the optional essays and other questions as well. With time to spare.Because, one day, I'd memorised a speech when I was five, and made my Grandfather proud of my English skills. And I never wanted to lose that feeling.Because I still have the ability to lose myself in a story, and create an entire fantasy world around me while I'm reading it.
