What Can I Tell My Doctor So That He Will Give Me Meds That Will Help Me Loose Weight

Will thyroid medication help me lose weight?

It should help you once you get to your optimum dose which does take some time. You will be retested every 6 wks until then.

You should ask the doctor to add Cytomel.

You should also take Selenium, Folic Acid, D3, Zinc, and B Complex.

Take your meds right. Take 1st thing, on empty stomach, & do not eat (or coffee) for 1/2 hr. Also, if you take calcium, iron or acid reducer, do not take for 3 hrs.

You need testing for thyroid ANTIBODIES as well as TSH. TSH ‘norm’ should be .3 – 3 (w/ most feeling best at < 2) but, for diagnosis, may not mean much if ANTIBODIES are present which is indicative of Hashimoto’s Autoimmune Thyroiditis (cycles between HYPER & HYPO at start)…it is the main cause of eventual HypOthyroidism.

WARNING: Doctors seem not to want to find/treat thyroid disease. You may have to go to more than one doctor before you get the right tests, interpretation, and treatment. Best wishes.

Doctor won't prescribe me anything for weight loss?

I'm +300lbs, male, 6'0, 20 years old, I've made the decision to change my life and for the last week I've been dieting while eating NO fast food (which is a one-up from spending $50 in a week before dieting). I've lost about 10 pounds which I know is just water weight. I really want to be prescribed the prescription Alli or Phentermine to help me jumpstart my weight loss. She told me that she doesn't believe in that stuff and won't prescribe that to her patients. I was soo angry and I told her that it may be time to look for another doctor and I left. I more than qualify for these prescription drugs, i'm not looking for a miracle pill, just something that can ease the pain in the beginning.

How can i make my husband lose weight without him knowing?

hi everyone,
my husband is over weight. The doctor has told him to lose weight plenty of times. He has gone on diets countless times but after a month he goes back to his regular routines. I made him get us a membership in the gym saying that i wanted to work out, im only 105 pounds i dont need to work out or lose weight at all, but he fell for it and said sure and i'll go with u to work out to lose weight. We went to work out for 3 weeks together and then he got lazy again. I tried making him go to the gym with several times but it never worked and i ended up going alone thinking he might feel bad and he would come the next time. well he didnt. i tried making him go on walks but he didnt. And now he wants to buy a treadmill and put it in the middle of the living room so that he can walk on it while watching tv which im also sure evryone is gona trip on and its gona end up unused again.

So please, is there anyway i can make my husband lose weight without him knowing that hes losing weight? some kinda weight losing meds that i can give him by mixing it in his morning tea or something?
I love him dearly but if he doesnt lose weight, im scared for his health.
please help.

Why do doctors prescribe medicine instead of exercise and diet?

Doctors want to see their patients HEALTHY. and what's healthy for some, isn't necessarily good for others. For example someone could be overweight and develop diabetes, or hypertension as a result of the obesity. For these individuals, just "diet and exercise" will not 100% fix the problem, depending on their conditions. And sometimes, the obesity is a result of something physiologically occuring within the body, like a problem with the thyroid gland, or something hormonal. Not to say that everyone who is obese cannot benefit from diet and exercise, but for some it's part of the solution not the absolute answer. They key to seeing results, and getting the RIGHT help is being open and honest with your Dr. and yourself about what's really going on. Only then when you expose the source, can the Dr. & you work together to treat and fix it.

I hope this helps! Best of Luck!

Please help me.?

I was a single parent for 10 years and have always been very independent. 6 yrs ago my father passed away and I started to have panic attacks. The doctor perscribed Paxil and since I I have gained over 60 lbs. Now I take 50 mg of Zoloft. I remarried three years ago and started working from home. I am not sure what is wrong with me, but i hate leaving the house. I desperately want and need another job. I send out many resumes and when I get the calls for interviews I will schedule them, but can not get myself to go. Or sometimes I will go and when offered the job, I can not get myself to start it. I hate myself and feel so fat and ugly. I am afraid if I go back to the doctor, he will increase my medication and I do not want that. I can't stand to gain anymore weight and I hate feeling medicated all the time. Please help me, I am only 35 years old and so confused all the time. I can never carry anything out and always change my mind. I want my life back. Please help me.
