How healthy are Vans for your feet relative to other shoes?

Vans are not technical shoes. They are old-school canvas sneakers with some heavy rubber cushioning under your foot and a little bit more under your medial arch. They have a very robust rubber outsole and rand, to protect the shoes against excessive wear from the friction stresses that occur in skateboarding, but nothing technical. They are perfectly OK for most of the young people who wear them as street shoes. If they are properly fitted they will not restrict the natural growth of a child's foot. But they are relatively heavy and flat and so for people who require a lighter shoe and/or more support, either due to foot issues, body weight, or the types of activities they engage in (running, serious walking, prolonged standing, basketball, field sports, etc.), Vans won't do at all. They're also terrible in serious rain because they are made of cotton canvas, which is a hydrophilic material, and will soak through relatively quickly when they get wet.There are shoes specifically designed for medical professionals, and many of them have also been adopted by professional chefs and restaurant servers (and some also by flight attendants), like Dansko, Sanita, and Timberland Pro. I own some of these and they're great. I'm personally also a devotee of the FitFlop brand of comfort shoes, boots, clogs, and sandals. But having said that, I personally believe that for most people who go through life mostly walking, occasionally running for a bus, occasionally needing to stand in line on a hard surface for 15 minutes or so, the optimal form of comfort footwear is a good, light, supportive pair of running shoes. Mine are Nike but yours should be whatever brand is most comfortable and supportive for you.

Hi, why you not protect the sharpie art after it done? You can using krilon (for faux leather shoes) or using water repellent shoes protector (for canvas shoes), and it will avoid your shoes from dirt. Just wipe using wet tissue everything will be fine.I did custom and paint sneakers, so i know how to wash a sneakers. Your problem can be easy depend on how bad is your shoes?First of all, get the shoes/sneakers cleaner, horse brush and sole brush, microfabric towel and a sharpie.Dip your sole part into a little amount of water to remove the dirt before wash the sole parts. Add sneakers soap cleaner into the sole brush and brush your sole, after it clean, wipe using microfabric towel. (*never use a lot of water while washing your shoes)Horse brush use for upper shoes, add a soap into horse brush and wash your upper shoes lightly and try not to brush the sharpie art. If it impossible, try using a wet cloth. Mix sneakers soap with a little amount of water, dip the cloth and using circle motion, gently clean the upper part. Gently wipe the upper using microfiber towel to remove the soap and water. Dry your shoes in a room.After your shoes is dry, using sharpie you can refine any broken parts.Now you can protect your sharpie art using krilon gloss/matte (for faux leather material) or using sneakers water repellent (for canvas and fabric material)
