Will acne medication cause a false positive in a drug test?
I am taking over the counter medication called Nature's Cure. It's all natural i guess but i want to make sure... The tablet has English Walnut, Yeast Cone Flower, Wild Rosemary, Vegetable Carbon and Frost Weed. I don't think any of those would trigger a false positive.....? the cream has Salicylic Acid & Benzoyl Peroxide....
Can Sharing a Pillow Case cause a False positive hair drug test?
Hi, My fiance had a pre-employment drug test. The urine came back clear for everything, but the hair test showed trace amounts of Oxycodone and we are trying to figure out why. He absolutly does not take drugs. I however have had several prescriptions for percocet in the past few months. I had 2 presctiptions about 8 months ago after my C-section, and Had another 2 prescriptions after having a botched wisdom tooth extraction about 4 months ago. Obviously these drugs would show in my hair. We share pillows in bed, and I also have a thyroid problem so a lot of my hair comes out. I'm wondering if this could be the result of his positive test, because we can not think of any other possibilities. Thanks so much
Possible False positive for meth?
My roommate has tested positive for meth and is currently in jail due to a failed UIs. The medications he was prescribed and was taking before incarceration include: -Prednisone- 5 Mg (1/M) -Allopurinol - 300 Mg (1/M) -Lisinopril - 20 Mg (1/M) -Loratadine - 10 Mg (1/M) -Aspirin 81 Mg (1/M) -Fluticasone Prop 50 MCG Spray (1 spray each nostril/M) -Cymbalta- 60 Mg (1/M) -Cymbalta- 30 Mg (1/E) -Crestor- 50 Mg (1/E) -Trazadone 150 Mg (1/E (to 2/E if needed)) -Omeprazole- 20 Mg (1/E) -Tamsulosin HCL- .4 MG (1/E) -Carvedilol 3.135 Mg (1/M, 1/E) -Brilinta 90 Mg (1/M, 1/E) -Nitrostat 0.4Mg(1/150GR) SUBLT 25'S - (Take only for chest pain) -oxyCODONE HCL 5Mg - (Take as needed for pain) - -Medical marijuana. The oxyCODONE was prescribed after he was released from the hospital (stint implant surgery). His PO is stating he had multiple dirty UIs for Meth even before his surgery. Does any of the meds, or combination of meds, cause a false positive for Meth? I support his claim that he did not take Meth. His behavior and outlook, prior to his arrest, has been exemplary and I saw no sign he was back on Meth. Thank you so much for this help. I do not want my roommate to be unjustly incarcerated.

Dextromethorphan is a morphinan, which means it's structurally similar to morphine, codeine, oxycodone etc, however it's effects are entirely different. It's structural similarity may cause a false positive for opioids on a cheap and simple 5 panel test, though it will not cause a false positive on a lab test. If it does cause a false positive, you can always request that further testing be done in light of the fact that you took something that could cause a false positive.
