What controllers can be used to play Skylanders Trap Team on Wii U?
My son is 4 and really wants Skylanders Trap Team. I've read about all the accessories like the starter pack, trap masters, and different traps. But we only currently have a Wii and I'm wondering which controllers are used to play this game. I have Wii Motes (not motion plus), nunchucks, and classic controllers. Obviously I will be buying a Wii U and will get whatever comes with that. What other Wii U accessories will I need?

i think its just one. One trap per one character. I dont play skylanders sorry, but i am usually updated with games (even ones i dont play). So im guessing: one trap holds one enemy character (unless you delete it or something) and thats it. Each trap has a type, water elemental, etc., for a specific character you can catch. BUT, there was a SPECIAL trap, that could capture the main antagonist of the game, kaos. I think it was a preorder or limited edition thing… so prices for it may be high. so, you probably have to keep buying traps in order to capture more enemies.

My fiance and I are adults with careers, busy social lives, and no children, but we play Skylanders together because the co-op is fun and we both enjoy collecting things. Like you said, it's not like teens and adults who play the game actually *play* with the figures. Ours are tucked away in a storage bin. There's nothing wrong with continuing to enjoy fun, light-hearted games. What about the teens and young adults who play Mario, Kirby, and Pokemon? I see Skylanders in the same category, game wise, the only difference is the figures which isn't a big deal. There is this stupid age where people act as though if you're not playing a game that's full of gore and violence, then you're not playing anything worthwhile, and that's BS. After a couple of years, people grow out of that stage and remember that games of any genre can be fun. What you're dealing with as far as the kids who make fun of you, is a bunch of immature teenagers who are trying so hard to prove that they're "grown" that they turn their nose up at anything that doesn't have guns and gore in it. Whatever. It's your life, and bottom line, as long as you're not playing with the toys themselves, you're fine.
Can I use Gamecube controllers on my Wii U?
Yes. You will need the WiiU adapter for the controller AND it only works for Smash Bros. Skylanders Trap Team: Questions I have about the game:?
Hi everyone, I recently got interested in the game above as I like any game where you can use Figurines in a game but I have some questions about the game that I need help with before I purchase the game for my Xbox 360. 1: How many Trap Crystals will I altogether need to trap all the Villians? 2: Where do I go to download the DLC exspansion packs called Midnight Mansion and Sunset Spire? 3: Names of Unknown Villians to unlock special gates? 4: How to trap Kaos? 5: Do I need every single Skylander or 1 from each of the 8 elements? 6: How do I use the Portal Pad? 7: What does the Starter pack for the game contain? I will really appreciate any and all help with answering my questions. Just to let everyone know that I'm only just getting to know about the franchise above and I don't know very much about Skylanders as I was mostly interested in Lego before I got into Skylanders.

Only in Smash 4. If you have Smash Bros. for the 3DS, go to “Wii U” in the menu and on the Wii U select “3DS” from the menu. And bam, as many 3DSes as you have can be used as controllers.Of course, if you have enough controllers for everybody, you shouldn’t be using a 3DS.

It is worth it. There are 22 chapters in the game and you need to get 1 Trap Master from each element and 1 Trap from each element for complete gameplay. Of course they aren't required, they're just to unlock certain things. The traps are so you can trap and play as the villains.
