What Does A Mold Rash Look Like

Is this mold?

Hi there.

Me and my wife moved into a new apartment about 1.5 weeks ago. And after only a couple of days i started to have rashes on my face, which has never happened ever in my life.
We reported this instantly to the management company and I told them that there might be mold present. He respond with saying that i'm just probably reacting to our sheets or laundry detergent, (We've been using the same detergent for over a year).

I bought a home mold test kit from Home depot which turned positive withing 24 hours after sampling the air from the central AC, and I also have these pictures of the ceiling covering the AC and from the bathroom.

24 hours prior to the mold inspector arriving, the on site manager in the entered our apartment, without any notice, and removed the covers that had traces of the leak & mold that was coming from the AC. And when the inspector came, he only sampled the air, and left after 5 minutes. Their air test turned negative.

Luckily, i still have pictures of the covers from before and the bathroom.
Now the landlord is trying to do everything he can to get rid of us because we're "annoying tenants that complains about mold".

Just to clarify i'm not wrong. This is mold isn't it? And what should our next step be?

What does a mold rash look like?

Black Mold Health Effects:

Mold spores are released in air. Hyphal fragments become airborne when stirred by any of the external forces. These airborne particles are so small in size that human eyes cannot see them. When individuals inhale moldy air, these particles enter into the system and easily make their way to lungs and other respiratory organs.

Black mold health effects may turn up to be very serious. Initially it looks like common allergic reactions to cold or dust. But ignoring the early symptoms can be dangerous.

Some of the symptoms of mold and mildew allergy are stuffy and runny noses, watery eyes, difficulty breathing, skin rashes, headache, irritation of throats and nausea. There can be other reactions of mold exposure too, it is better to consult a physician to know the exact cause of allergies.

Troubles can begin suddenly. Individuals may feel congested as soon as they enter into a mold infected room, basement OR come into direct contact with any moldy piece of fabrics, curtains, leather jackets, carpets, wallpapers and other similar household materials.

Should such symptoms occur, become careful. Mold infection is accompanied by a musty odor. This odor is the clue; it helps individuals identify the exact location of contamination. Humid places and the locations that had water damage are preferred by molds and mildews to grow in. Mold removal is the only way to get rid of such sticky molds.

Mold in Diaper rash shea butter?

I tried making a cloth diaper friendly diaper rash cream and I used raw Shea butter as the main ingredient. I used raw Shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter, aveeno colloidal ointment ( mixed with a little water to make it pasty) and a little bit of lanolin. Now it's been a week or so at room temp and there was lumps and mold looking stuff in it. Could it have gone bad? What ingredient could have caused it to do that? How do you store it once it has been mixed with other stuff?

Mold allergies?

Very possible.

You can find out for sure by a blood test at your primary care doctor's office - or skin testing at an allergist's (skin testing is expensive).

You definitely sound as if you are suffering from allergies - the question is - what are you allergic to?

The testing narrows that down for you.

In the absence of formal testing, you can treat allergies with OTC (over the counter) medicines.

Claritin or ALavert are excellent low sedation alternatives.

Since these are once a day meds - take them at bedtime and if you were to have drowsiness - it would be gone before you wake up.

Also, make sure there is no mold in your home!! That can be a major trigger for allergic symptoms!

If your symptoms are significantly less when staying elsewhere (hotel or friends' home) that might lead you to believe that your home may have a mold contamination problem.

Last, there is a nasal irrigator which works incredibly well called a "Neti Pot."

It is so effective, inexpensive, and safe - it was even on the Oprah Show.

This works by washing away the "allergens" (the particles which adhere, or stick, to your nasal mucosa) and by getting rid of the swelling in the nose.

If you use this Neti Pot - buy a container of sea salt rather than the packets they give you - works just as good and is much cheaper.
