What Does It Mean If A Package Is Being Processed

What does "Processed Through Sort Facility" mean for USPS?

Some sorting areas are small. like the ones behind the scenes at you local Post Office. The clerks do the final sort so  the mail is ready by house number for the carrier to go to each house and deliver the mail. The main hub for mail processing is where the big machines automatically sort the mail with the use of scanners to read the addresses and every letter or package goes to a bin ready to be sent off on truck to the next destination or your local Post office. The large facilities run 24 hours a day with the lightest work done during the day, if needed to clean up for the afternoon shift. The afternoon shifts take care of all out going mail and prepare it for the planes and truck to get it to the next destination. If you are near a mail processing plant you might be able to get a tour of this building to see how the mail is actually worked. The Post Office does provide tours for certain groups like (the boy Scouts).

What does it mean when a USPS package is processed twice through the same sort facility?

I had a package that was supposed to be delivered today that was sent via Priority Mail USPS. When I tracked the package early this morning it had just been processed through a USPS sort facility, and the last tracking entry was that it departed the sort facility(@4:08 AM - today/friday) so I figured it was on track to be delivered as scheduled since the sort facility was near my house(I know it has to go to a post office first). However, when it wasn't delivered I checked the status again and it says it was processed again through the *exact same* sort facility it was before. Can anyone tell me what this means? Its not an emergency per say but, I want to make sure it isn't being sent back to the sender or anything because I need to have the package before I leave for a trip on monday.

What does "this order has been processed mean"?

I ordered beats off of monstercable.com, and the order said "Has been processed" since Wednesday. Today is Thursday, and I still have not received a tracking number. Will my order be here by tomorrow (Friday) or will i have to wait all weekend till Monday? :/

What does being processed for delivery mean?

Last week i have recently purshased an item through ebay thats from the UK and Saturday i had tracked it using the Royal Mail and it said your item has arrived in Kennedy New York and it's being processed for deliveryand i have tracked it Sunday and Today. What is that so post to mean. When will i get my item. Thank you.

My package says Processed through Sort Facility ISC NEW YORK(USPS)?

If your package is coming from another country, for delivery in the USA, when it gets to ISC New York it should be cleared for delivery. You may not see more scans for a day or so because it will be in transit. Packages only get scanned when they pass through the sorting machines. When in transit they are in large containers and there is no way to scan them. You package could be in a container at an airport waiting for a plane, on the plane or being transported to a Distribution Center. Sunday evening, in most places, packages get sorted for Monday Delivery. Since today is Sunday, your package may be waiting at a Distribution Center for the overnight crew to arrive and run the sorting machines. When sorting is complete, trucks take the mail to the local post offices for delivery, before the sun comes up. That depends on how far you are from New York City.

When USPS website says your package is being processed by US customs, what does that mean? How much longer?

It means it as arrived in the United States and is being processed, checked by customs and immigrations - this is standard procedure and normally takes 2-3 days.

Your package should be with you within the next 7 business days.

How long would it take us customs to process my package?

Customs can take as long as they want/need to clear a package. Most things go through in a couple of days; however, I've known a few things to take as long as 8 weeks. Delays can occur if the customs paperwork is filled out incomplete, incorrectly or is missing altogether. There can also be a delay if there is a question of whether duty (tax) is owed or even if the item is legal (should not be a problem for you).

What does it mean if my package is at the USPS regional destination facility? Will I get my package tomorrow? The distribution center says it's an hour and a half away from my house.

If it is at the regional distribution center, then is being processed to its final destination…which is your local post office. Only your local post office will be able to do the final delivery. THE IMPORTANT thing to check is when it gets to the distribution center. After a certain time, it might get processed there to be delivered to your local PO, but it will be the next day before that happens (they don’t send multiple trucks to all places every day). Wait and keep checking the status. If the status changes to being delivered to your local PO during the night, then it is likely to be delivered the next day. Otherwise, it will be the day after.

USPS says "Processed Through Sort Facility" when will my package arrive?

how do you know it shipped on the 2nd? was there an entry that stated that.

It looks like it shipped probably yesterday (late) or early this morning and was sorted at the nearest sort facitity and sent on its way. I would give you a 50-50 chance of it arriving tomorrow (7th) and a 95% chance that if not tomorrow then on Friday.
