Hey Buddy,Welcome to IT.Big dreams, aspirations, tremendous energy.Keep all of it tight, you are going to get blown.Your first day 'Induction' and you would know what technology and which project you would be moving to, who decides that? Your interest or your knowledge? No!! The HR who has probably never met you would decide it on the basis of there requirement.HCL has a little work with Java core development. In ISD they have automation teams who do some coding and stuff but as they have less work it's very less probably that they would like to move you there.So best would be if you keep your arms open to any new technology that they offer you, each one has a huge scope. We call all these technologies as "tracks", some of which are Oracle DBA, SQL DBA, Windows System Admin, Cisco security, Cisco voice, Backup Admin on specialised devices, Active Directory, etc.Believe me there are many technologies which have better scope then JAVA in HCL ISD.One last advice, research about the technology that is assigned to you, check what possibilities and demands it has in future and then decide. HCL will give you opportunities to move to a different technology after 18 months.I always wanted to be a developer but got into Aon Hewitt as a SCS, developer cum tester. Somehow got interest in networking and joined HCL ISD, in HCL moved as an application database administrator. Got interested in Databases and wanted hard to be a professional Oracle DBA, again got a good chance and moved to Microsoft Exchange server Admin. Now waiting for a chance to get hands on Microsoft Office 365 which is a exchange server based on Cloud. \U0001f600So there are no limits to possibilities in HCL, only if you stay positive and accept all the challenges which comes through.All the best!!P.S : I'm not a writer or an expert with English, so please bear with me.
