How to make a video game walk through on pc with commentary for youtube?

Use Fraps to record gameplay and then audacity to record voice. Before you click on minecraft go to audacity and click record and then go to minecraft turn on fraps and wolla. Once you finish recording sync up the voice with the gameplay using a editing program like sony vegas, WMM etc. Then upload to YouTube.

If I were to make a gaming video on YouTube which game should I play?

It depends. If you want to attract a lot of users quickly , you'd have to play multiplayer games, MMOs , MOBAs like battlefield , COD, Destiny or DotA.Or you can play other regular AAA games. Try to give commentary which is enjoyable. Make your videos entertaining rather than doing needless side quests. Prepare compilation videos of epic moments in a game, top 10s , thing like that.

When recording gaming videos, should you be commenting during gameplay, or is it better to add in commentary when you edit your video?

It depends on your intention for the video. If your video is supposed to be "first impression" when playing a new game, then you need to record your feelings at the moment they happen, not in retrospective. If on the other hand you are trying to demonstrate something, then the narrative will have to be carefully planned both in advance and in post-mix.I recently watched a gamer play through SOMA; it was a 7 hour long play through and quite obviously, he never played it before, so he was missing critical clues, missing side doors with plot-relevant info behind and so on.But I also recently watched Total Biscuit making a point about reselling of "used games", and that's a video where he clearly recorded the audio separately from the video game footage being shown.

Any tips of what to talk in a gameplay commentary?

If you're doing commentary on video games, I think these are the following subjects you probably would want to talk about the game.

How you got it - maybe it might be a sequel to a game that has been long awaited or maybe you saw the game in a store and thought it looked good, it would be good if you could give a short explanation on how you got the game.

Relationship with the game - was it a long game from your childhood that you never completed, is it your favourite game, is it a sequel to a long awaited game, does the game/series have a cult following, or was it just your favourite game of your childhood. These could interest games and give them an insight of why you own the game.

Do you like or dislike the game? - does the game have great gameplay, an interesting story mode, great social multiplayer, lots of replay value or is it just a commonly negatively reviewed game (eg. on-foot racing games like Rayman Arena/Rush or Sonic R) that you just happen to enjoy? Give reasons why you enjoy playing the game and why you play, or still play it.

Information - give information on the gameplay or the game, (eg. a tricky area, an easter egg, some trivia) to give players more information about the game. You could be doing a walkthrough, or just be doing free roam, but for all you know, a person who needs help may stumble across your gameplay video and thank you for it.

Review it - is the game worth buying? If yes, why? If not, why are you playing it? Of course if you enjoy a game then recording a standard game session or walkthroughing the game may only be second nature, but if you dislike the game, what influenced you to play the game? Is it a game you disliked when you where younger, and finally wanted to get the game over and done with, or do you want to test out the game to see if you prefer it now? What features make the game worth purchasing? How much does it cost and what is it's replay value? All these factors make the game better or worse.

What equipment should I use if I want to start recording video games on PS4 and also be able to do live commentary?

You can use the built in PS4 software to do that anyway. The PS4 comes with screen capture software built in and can be activated by tapping the Share button twice quickly. To activate the Audio capture software that also comes, you'll want to get either a headset or microphone to plug in.You'll know the microphone works if a message pops up saying “Microphone switched to headset connected to controller” (If plugged in via the auxiliary input.)For USB I'm willing to bet it's the same but I'll have to double check. But you can tap the share button once to access the share menu. From here go to “Sharing and broadcast settings” Then “Audio sharing settings” To set the microphone settings. You need to have Microphone audio in video clips for microphone audio in videos. And broadcasting turned on for live streaming. That's how you do it if you are on a budget.

How do they program the highly detailed commentary in sports games such as FIFA, PES, NBA 2k14 and NFL?

Making game is not an easy process to start With but making AAA rating games is even longer process but in these sorts of games we know that there are most of time limited number of possibility of things to happen like in nba you could go for layup or dunk shot when near now there would be some direction to from where we start then weather there was player in path of not and how was shot finished and who took the shot now after you identity all these condition one by one they record 2-3 comments for each condition like that was hammered down by lebron etc. Which would be played when we play all the names of player are recorded and most of the times the commentary is same for same shot barring the name now many player have there signature shots or moves which have different recordings and some special chunks are corrected by the input of beta testers and so the "detailed" commentary as we see is executed
