What Is A Good Gaming Computer

What is a good "gaming computer"?

Hi. Alienware makes good gaming computers, as do most of the corporate manufacturers like HP and Dell and even eMachines. The question begs is how much you are willing to spend on this computer. I just bought the components from Newegg to build my new machine and with the hardware I got, it would be classified as a gaming computer.

What Matt is trying to point out is that when you buy the computer, ask the sales rep to make certain that the computer has what is called dedicated video. Most computers come with integrated video (video built into the computer) and this seriously reduces the gaming potential because the graphics hog system resources. With dedicated video, the computer would have more resources for the game. This may sound confusing, but just remember that you are looking for a computer with dedicated video. If you look over the features and see that the computer sports x amount of shared video RAM, then this tells you that the computer does not have a dedicated graphics controller and would not be well suited for gaming.

Also, most gaming computers have a lot of RAM, over 1GB (gigabyte). Mine has 4GB. Hope this helps.

Again, check out alienware computers - http://www.alienware.com/main.aspx - as they are more suited for making gaming machines. Last note: ignore the bias towards a certain brand (intel, amd, nvidia, ati); everyone has their personal preferences and love to shove those opinions down every throat they can find!

Edit: When you buy one, ask the sales people for a Windows XP install because though Vista looks pretty, it seriously degrades performance of the machine.

What would be a good computer to use for gaming?

You generally don't want to buy a computer as a single piece because that gets needlessly expensive.Currently, the absolute Max performance you can get from any hardware currently in circulation is a combination of:An NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan VAn Intel Core i7 8700K or an AMD Ryzen 2700XAs much RAM as you can fit on your motherboardAnd an SSD.However, if you can wait a month, you can buy a GTX 2080 ti which is supposed to be significantly faster than a Titan V, although you should probably check some actual benchmarks before buying it rather than just taking Nvidia's word for it.Also Intel is supposed to release the 9000 series processors sometime in the possibly near future, I'm not entirely certain. That said, the above components really aren't the best value for money, particularly the Titan V is overpriced, actually the prices of Graphics cards and Ram in General are very high right now.

What is a good gaming computer for an 8 year old.?

My son needs a computer to start out with. He is only 8 and loves to play minecraft. He wants to make YouTube tutorial videos for this game and I don't know what kind of computer would be best for this . He is only 8 so we aren't looking to spend a whole lot. Any suggestions on what we might need?

What is a good gaming computer?

Most important thing about Gaming PC is
a) Its ability to process High quality graphics
b)and how fast it can process it.

For that focus on your Graphics card more than your CPU.

I recommend

i) A mobo that supports DDR3 RAM and dual core processors. [I prefer ASUS/GIGABYTE.]
ii) If u r not going top do a lot of multitasking and mainly gaming then I would say go for Core 2 Duo
[C2D E8400 looks good.]

If u r o do lot of multitasking then go or a Core 2 quad. [$$$ That'll cost u a few more pounds. See how much u can squeeze. if u can afford C2Q q6600 looks good or q8400.$$$]

iii) Try t o save as much as u can on CPU and spend it on Graphics card. It's most important in gaming performance. Try to go for the newer Graphics card as far as possible. [ preferably nVidia 9800gt/hd radion 4850 or above.]

iv) Ram depends on the OS & Graphics card . I recommend WIN XP/ WIN 7. Better go for WIn 7 64bit. XP is good but back dated. Remember never Vista & preferably not WIN & 32bit. [For WIN 7 64bit & recommended Graphics card 4gb of DDR3 is good.]

v) SMPS; At least 600w or more. [A few of 1st Tire SMPS manufacturers are PC power & cooling>Seasonic> FSP.] [PC p & c Silencer 610 looks good.]

vi)For extreme gaming or overclocking and/or for hardware longevity use a separate Heat-sink instead of stock heat-sink. [Noctua NH-D14 is really good.

Can't tell u the exact price but u should be able to get them within your budget.

So go get them And GAME ON.

Is this Gateway computer a good gaming computer?

I went to Best Buy and saw this computer- Gateway® SX2841-09e Desktop
http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668741.php
If i were to purchase this computer, I would use it for gaming. The one game i'd mainly use it for is The Sims 2. The guy at our local Best Buy told us that it could easily handle the game, but the last time my sister bought a computer for gaming and asked about that game, one employee told us it was very unlikely with the laptop she purchased, but the computer crashed several weeks later. I'd like a second opinion. Thanks! :)

What is the cheapest good gaming computer under $300?

A gaming computer under 300 dollars ? Nope there isn’t one. You can get a decent gaming rig at 750 dollars.Perhaps you could sign up for NVIDIA GeForce Now if you have a very good broadband connection. You can game at ultra settings even on a 100 dollar PC/notebook. Not kidding !Go check it out.NVIDIA GeForce NOW Cloud Gaming: Now for Mac

Dell Vostro 410, good gaming computer?

Gaming is dependent on the video card. If your Vostro came with a higher end card like the 8800 GT, then it would be a decent gaming computer. If not, then not-so-good.

What games it can play will depend on the game itself. I'd say you could play most MMO's and RTS's (real-time strategy) but would have problems with first-person shooters.

Best Gaming Computers?

For gaming, definitely go with a desktop. It's hard to get decent gaming performance on laptops for under $1000, and they aren't upgradeable later on.

While the absolute best value for your dollar comes building from scratch, there are plenty of better deals. The first system isn't good for gaming- the graphics card is worthless and would have to be replaced, the processors is also rather slow.

Here's a much better (and cheaper) choice:

Building from scratch you could get something much more powerul. Or you could spend another $150 to upgrade the graphics card and power supply on the this computer. But for WoW and Empire Total War, it wouldn't be necessary.
