What Is A Good Primer To Use For The Whole Face

What is a good face primer?

I have oily to combination skin. and my face has a uneven skintone to it too.
I was wondering if this Loreal perfecting base primer (anti-redness) will work for me. I have rosey cheeks and it says it dies down the redness. Would that facial primer work well for me?
if not, any suggestions?

also! what is a good summer face moisturizer. Right now, I use cetaphil, but it feels thick sometimes, I was wondering what moisturizer I should use during the summer months? I want a light coverage but still makes my face moisturized.

thanks a bunch!

Can I sleep with mineral infused face primer on my face?

No thats not a good idea. Use a hydrating face mask that you wash off before you go to sleep and then apply a hydrating moisturizer that absorbs before you go to sleep.

A primer is like wearing makeup which isn't a good idea at night when you want your skin to breath.

Can you use face primer as eye primer?

While it may help to use some face primers as an eye primer as opposed to using nothing at all, it will not work better than a primer designed for use on the eye. This is because the skin on your face is significantly different from the skin on your eyes and what each product is designed to do is different as a result. Most facial primers are designed to prep your skin and prolong your makeup wear by filling in your pores and fine lines (usually with a silicon base), some including pigment to give your foundation extra coverage or a glow. You'll notice if you put a facial primer on the back of your hand, it will absorb quickly and leave your skin smooth and soft, a perfect canvas to smoothly apply facial makeup.Eye primers work a bit differently. Creating a smooth and moisturized canvas on your eyes will actually cause eye makeup to slide around, making you more subject to creasing. Since the skin on your eyes is not near as porous as the skin on your face, a facial primer will likely not even fully absorb. If you put an eye primer on the back of your hand, you'll notice a big difference in texture. It will be tacky and it will not absorb. This helps it to act as a glue for your eye shadow to adhere to. Rather than soaking into the skin, it acts as a barrier between your skin (and its oils) and your eye shadow. If you're not interested in investing in an eye primer, concealer has much the same texture and some people swear it works just as well as primer. If you have particularly oily eye lids though, concealer may not cut it as many concealers have oils in them.

What can I use as eyeshadow primer?

There are literally hundreds of eyeshadow primers on the market. Urban Decay, NYX, Elf, Avon, Mac and the list goes on……I personally don't care for any of the ones I've tried. They leave my lids feeling heavy or my shadow cracks and flakes off. Maybe I'm not doing it right, though goodness knows I've watched enough YouTube that I'm sure I am…Maybe I just haven't found my magic formula…But there are so many things I'd rather spend my money on. Like that liquid lip that I KNOW is gonna be KILLER. So, what I do, is use good quality eyes shadows that don't have fall out. And I apply a bit of my concealer to my lids with my beauty blender (don't set it with powder) before I apply my shadow. That works for me.

Can I use primer and a moisturizer?

I recently got the e.l.f. primer as well. I've actually only been using it for my eyelids and around my eyes so far to help keep my eye makeup looking good. I do put my moisturizer on first. My moisturizer is light. And I use the primer on top of it. It seems to work out okay. I haven't tried the primer on my whole face yet. I use a Vitamin C serum followed by a hyaluronic acid moisturizer. If I were to put the primer all over my face I would probably just use the C and skip the other. Maybe you could still use your moisturizer but use less of it. If your skin is oily I assume you're using a moisturizer made for oily skin. I think the primer is suitable for all skin types.

Do you use a primer before a makeup application? If not, why?

I don't use primer daily, especially the blurring pores type of primer (like porefessional from benefit) because I don't know why but my skin gets clogged really fast even after single use of primer. I've tried several of them. I've read that using primer itself doesn't really cause clogged pores as long as you cleanse your face and exfoliate them regularly but I guess it's just not for me. I prefer to use spray type like Mac Fix+ to help my makeup last longer before and after applying makeup. Keep in mind using priming and setting spray won't help much with the appearance of pores and skin textures. What I personally like is to spray my stippling brush/sponge with priming water (you DIY it using glycerin and rose water) before applying foundie which help to make your extra matte foundation to spread better, easier, and help them last longer. So, yeah if you're talking abt cream/solid primer, I don't really use them, but if your main concern is to only make the makeup last longer then there are ways to achieve them other than using silicon/water based primer. If you're dealing with skin textures, then silicon-based primer is the key, sadly I haven't found one that doesn't break me out. I hope you find yours!

What is a primer in makeup?

The main purpose of a primer is to allow your makeup to adhere to your face and increase the longevity of your makeup. There are eyeshadow primers which aim to give you maximum pigemtation out of your eyshadow, make the eyeshadow application smooth and easy, prevent creasing and increase the longevity of your eyeshadow overall. However, foundation primers are a bit more complicated, in the sense that there are all kind of face primers out there made with different formulations and aiming at different skin issues. For example, you have primers for dry skin, oily skin, large pores, photography, colour correcting etc. What you want to do, is identify what you want out of a face primer first. Do you want to blur out your pores or give your skin a burst of hydration before applying foundation, or mattify your skin? etc. etc.A good example of different face primers which address different issues is the Makeup Forever brand. They have a whole range of face primers. They all have for aim to increase the longevity of your makeup but each of them are aimed at specific skin issues. They have a hydrating one, a smoothing one, a mattifying one, a replenishing one, tinted ones, colour correcting ones and so on!You can also get good face primers at drugstore level. Just browse around, the packaging should specify what type of skin or issue it is aiming at.I hope this helps!

What is makeup primer?

Makeup primer, like everyone else says, is basically a product that helps you keep your eyeshadow, foundation, etc. on all day.
There is a face primer which helps your foundation last all day & also your concealer.
There is an eyeshadow primer that helps your eyeshadow stay on all day and not crease.
There is also a lip primer but it's not really that necessary. It just helps your lips before your apply your lipstick.
With face primers, they're usually clear, or transparent and you apply it throughout your whole entire face.
With eyeshadow primers, they can be creamy or liquidy. You just apply it like eyeshadow.
Primers help a lot so I recommend buying them.
Hope this helped!

Can a Guy wear primer?

Primer isn't what your looking for to cover acne scars. I think you mean concealer. If you use makeup correctly, people will never know that you are wearing it.

In the sources I put a link to a youtube video on how to put on makeup for guys. I also put a link to a Wiki How on getting rid of acne scars. And, as an added bonus, if you are a little shy about using make up and want a hidden place to store it, I included a link on how to make a book safe! I hope this helps! Good Luck :)
