What Is A Good Protein To Drink After Working Out

Should you take protein powder before or after working out? ?

In general you need protein both before workout and after workout.

Cos if you have blood amino high during workouts - the muscle repair starts while you workout and that could be a edge for muscle gain.
But you do not need a fast acting protein before workout. You need a good protein source. For me eggs and some dairy products works great with few slices of bread.

Post workout drink is the most crucial. The 30 minutes after workout is called as anabolic window. If you provide a high quality whey protein along with fast acting sugar like dextrose, your insulin level spikes up. Insulin is a very anabolic hormone used for transportation. So when we have fast acting protein like whey in the post workout mix along with fast acting sugar, the protein is transported fast into the muscle along with the sugar. Hence the glycogen storage gets filled fast and the muscle repair is through fast and you recover and grow fast.

So post workout is most essential.

If I have one meal a day and work out and drink a protein shake after I work out, will that help me lose weight?

Why Meal TimIf I Have a Protein Shake After My Workout, When Should I Eat My Mealing MattersRight after a tough workout, whether it's muscle-building or endurance-based, your body has a window in which it optimally uses nutrients to repair muscles and refill your energy stores. The exact length of time of this window is debatable, but the American Academy of Dietitians puts it between 15 and 60 minutes. A shake is most convenient in this short window because it's more portable than whole foods, doesn't necessarily require refrigeration, is easily tolerated even when you have a low appetite and digests quickly. Make sure that your shake contains 10 to 20 grams of protein and 0.45 to 0.68 grams of carbohydrates per pound of your body weight for optimal recovery.Meal TimeWhen you've exercised hard, follow up your protein shake with a whole-food meal within an hour or two. The meal should include carbohydrates, which continue to help you replace glycogen, the energy stores in your muscles, as well as another serving of protein. A paper in a 2010 issue of the "International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism" notes that consuming small amounts of protein, equal to about 20 grams, five to six times daily may support the processes that contribute to muscle growth throughout the day. The combination of carbohydrates with this protein in the immediate hours after your workout positively affects your future exercise performance -- especially if you'll be working out or competing again the same or next day.ARTICLE SOURCE:Related:"Stay attractive up to forty years""Some of the men’s health risks""Smoking snacks take away your sex!""Scientists have determined the exact size of the penis!""Run regularly to stay healthy and reduce weight"

Is it safe to drink whey protein without working out?

What is whey protein? Is it safe ?Whey protein is produced from milk. The manufacturing process removes most fat and milk sugars (carbohydrates) and leaves you with a convenient powder which is packed with protein and amino acids, making it very easy to add extra daily protein to your active and sporty lifestyle. Within the whey protein category there are different types of whey protein.Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC)The amount of protein in whey protein concentrate can vary between 25-89%.Whey Protein Isolate (WPI)WPI is the purest form of whey protein available and contains between 90-95% protein. It is a good protein source for individuals with lactose intolerance as it contains little or no lactose. WPIs are also very low in fat. The cost of a WPI will be slightly higher than WPC due to the purity and higher protein content.Hydrolyzed Whey ProteinThe long protein chains in the whey protein have been broken down into shorter chains called peptides. This makes the whey protein more easily absorbed by the body and may reduce the potential for allergic reactions. What is a good protein source after working out(except powder)?

if u consume a can of tuna in water, ud be eating a raw 24 grams of protein for each... and u can also add a banana milkshake of 1/4 litre skim milk. that be adding another 8 or so grams of prot, besides ud be consumig the potasium from the bananas to help not to have cramps and also teh lactose can help u feel filled up a longer period of time so u dont have to face those bloody starvation periods some of us get just after lifting.
with this combination (though its not very yummy i know), ull be consuming a lil over 30 grams of protein in one sitting, which is pretty much as muchprot as the body can handle on each take.
if u go over that 30 or so margin, not only youll be wasting money and adding inches to your stomach, but you will also be creating a danger of having an hiper proteic diet which can lead to liver and kidney diseases (not nice, believe me... my ex gave me hepatitis A, and it wasnt fun)
so, to sum it up:
prot per take: 30 grams aprox (recommended 5 meals + one take after lifting = 6 takes total)
the one i suggested:
tuna can: >1dllr
1/4 ltr skim milk banana milkshake: bout 50cnts
you can substitute the milkshake with nuts, or the tuna with half a chicken breast or 150grams of pork meat (the meaty parts, not the fatty parts)
hope u find this of some help, and keep up the good work
-get that pump-no pain, no gain-

Can you drink whey protein before a workout and straight after a workout?

Protein Supplements can be taken both Preworkout and Postworkout, but taking them before Workout provides better Results than Post Workout.Scientific Explanation for the same has been provided below:1) Pre-workout protein, specifically the BCAAs will fuel the muscles during training. This is key because exercise causes the breakdown and oxidation of BCAAs. Providing BCAAs to working muscles will prevent the need for your body to catabolize the working muscle itself.2) Pre Workout Protein Supplementation starts protein synthesis during rather than after your training session. It increases amino acid delivery and uptake by muscles during training which in turn enhances the Results.3)After Pre Workout Protein Supplementation muscle protein synthesis stay elevated for 2 hrs approx. This means that blood amino acids levels are elevated during your training session in addition to a carryover of elevated blood amino acid levels after your workout. This elevation of blood amino acids will also help prevent excessive post-workout muscle breakdown following the training session. Thus, As per recent Scientific studies taking Protein Supplements Pre Workout are more beneficial rather than Post Workout.
