What Is A Good Song To Sing When Auditioning For Ugly In The Musical Honk Jr.

I'm auditioning for Honk Jr., and I need an AWESOME song. HELP!?

StageAgent.com has a great database of audition songs (http://stageagent.com/Shows/Songs/). You can search for songs by voice part and age-range. Then, each song page has a link to pages on the associated show and character. Break a leg!

I'm auditioning for HONK! jr, a musical?

I would really like to try out for Queenie. Auditions are on the 13th of Jan. and I assure you, I am very existed. I am 13 years old and in 8th grade. HONK! Jr. is our school musical this year. I looked it up a bit, and it looks like a blast. I've been in 5 musicals before, and I had decent parts. Does any one have any tips or tricks to nail the audition? What kind of song should I sing? If I get the part, how should I act?

Good audition song for Honk Jr?

I am auditioning for Honk! Jr. at the end of this month and I would like to play Ida. Our directors don't like us to sing Wicked or You're A Good Man Charlie Brown. I am a strong soprano and I sing songs like Popular, My New Philosophy, and Thank Goodness very well. My back up audition song is Every Tear a Mother Cries from Honk! Jr. but I would really prefer to sing something else! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Audition for Honk Jr.!?

Okay, well Ida is a really big role, and Penny isn't that huge.

Ida has a few solos (she's a strong soprano), including "Every Tear a Mother Cries", "Hold Your Head Up High", "The Joy of Motherhood"...as you can probably tell,s he's very motherly! It's a really great role.

Penny has no solos. She sings with the chorus, of course, and is the swan who falls for Ugly. It's a very sweet role.

For this specific show, I have only one word for you: CHARACTER! Some roles in this play may not seem too good, but if you give them character, they can be really fun!

Guys and Dolls: Musical Help!?

My school is doing the production of "Guys and Dolls Jr." this winter & spring. Last year we did the play "Honk!" and one of my best friends got the lead "Ugly" let's call her Carly. Carly since about 4th grade has been getting attention about her plays. No one expected her to get the lead last year but she did. Anyways last year I did poorly on my audition, had a voice crack and I got ensamble. This summer I've been taking voice lessons to improve my singing and I'm MUCH better then I was before. Ever since early November I have been practicing for hours each day hoping to get the role of Adelaide. Guess what. Carly is also auditioning for Adelaide and everyone just assumes she will get the role (she told me she has barley looked at the songs!) I told my friends who I am auditioning for, (if you're not aware Adelaide is a lead) and they all laughed saying I had no chance beating out Carly and some other kids. Help! What should I do? I am also considering the role of Nicely-Nicely or Benny and I am singing the song "Adelaide's Lament" and doing the scene with Adelaide and Nathan. I also have a pretty good New York accent! :) (Btw I forgot to mention: The director said she is looking for a blondie to play her! Me nor Carly is blonde). Thanks!

Honk Jr. the musical character?

Most of these parts are pretty heavy with singing in terms of solos etc. But I would recommend Maureen and Dot for you. Ugly and the Cat could be played by a woman but they are the main characters as hero and villain and have lots of solos and lines. Drake, Greylag and the Bullfrog are men, Jaybird could technically be a woman but doesn't sing.
Maureen has a few verses with Ida as a duet and a few solo lines in "Joy of Motherhood" and probably some in "Look at him".
Dot isn't as big a part as Maureen as she doesn't show up in the barnyard, she;s only in one scene but she gets some solo lines, small verses and a monologue.
They're both fun and are probably your best bet, break a leg!
