What Is Friends-in-name-only

I need a name for a best friend in my book?

Basically the book is about a 16 year old girl who finds out she is an angel (sounds boring, but the plot gets more interesting with details). She is very quiet and modest (because she is an angel she is perfect in a way), and needs a best friend that kind of mirrors that, and is really outgoing. Any ideas for names? The girl's name is Falon "Fawn" McCormick. Thanks!

What do you think of my friend's name Florian Edward Cassidy?

Florian,
what a great name.
i am presuming your friend is a boy/male.
it is a masculine given name borrowed from the ancient Roman name Florianus.
thank f**k his mother left the anus bit out,
i think that would not work too well these days.

but if he was living in the uk most would shorten that to Flo

the only problem with that is
The name Flo is a Latin baby name.
In Latin the meaning of the name Flo is: The mythological Roman goddess of flowers.
in the uk, it is also a shortened version of florence, (which is a girls name)

BUT

there are many men called sue.

your friend has a great name, just dont worry about it.

if you do not like calling his name,
then make up a nickname for him.

BUT

there are a few famous people called Florian.
such as,
1. Florian Mayer (b. 1983), German tennis pro
2. Florian Zeller (b. 1979), French novelist, playwright
3. Florian Pittiş (1943–2007), Romanian actor

.

Can we have non-Muslim friends as best friends?

When you make friends, one is influential on other. and you know that Non-Muslims do not believe in right religion. So if you fear that you will be influenced by your Non-Muslim friend, then it is not OK to have him as a friend. But if you can influence him and guide him to right path, then it is Mustahab (recommended) to have him as a friend.

Friends influence each other, its a fact. You can not say that you are not influenced by your friends. Its not true.

60:8 Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just.

60:9 Allah only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith, and drive you out of your homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances), that do wrong.

How do I search for a Facebook friend in the UK only?

Yes you can, just to the following:

1) First, write the name of the person you want to search for in the top right corner of the page. (and then click the magnifying glass).

2) Now you are on the page which shows 10 results.

3) Above the first picture, and below the different tabs (All result, people, pages, groups, etc...)

You will find it say "Show Results", and then "All Networks"

Just click on the arrow and choose "Other Network" and write whichever location or network you want and choose from the list.

Then click search again (but not the one on top right).

Hope this helps?

Yeah, in facebook, neither United Kingdom, nor Great Britain, not Scotland not England are networks (Wales and Northern Ireland are) because they only have the biggest cities for them.

The network u can search for are for example: Manchester, Liverpool, London, Glasgow, Edinburgh...

Why does my friend point out my flaws?

If this friend of yours really said that then just stop now. No TRUE friend would call you lesbian or hairy for no reason. Thats just straight up rude. Why does your friend point out your flaws? Because theyre just friends in name only, not a real friend. I used to have a friend like this and I ended that friendship before the insults and couId take a toll on me. You know what else this can be considered as? Bullying. I would suggest that you stop talking to her because I know that stuff like this can lower your self esteem by a lot even if you dont think it is. Words have more power than you think.
