What Is That Music Playing On The Loud Speaker On M*a*s*h

Why do some people play their music so loudly? Don't they realize that they're imposing their tastes on other people (who may not like it)?

I would argue that this question belongs under psychology, because that’s pretty much what this comes down to.Many people have either substandard or nonexistent situational awareness, and no, they don’t realize that they’re imposing their tastes on other people. I would say this is true for the majority of loud-music offenders. They’re kind of apathetic, and don’t fully consider the effects of their music. They might blast it because they’re hard of hearing, they consider their particular music taste to be a status symbol of sorts, they just plain like the song, or maybe even because they think others enjoy it (especially true of those who blast pop music and Christmas carols). Most of these people would probably turn down their music if confronted, but some of them are so lacking in empathy, they will not care what you think at all and believe, narcissistically, that their desire overrides yours. That brings me to the other sizable category of loud-music offenders: the one that wants to.. offend. They may have a grudge against society, or a statement to make, or want to show off their loud speakers, or want to shock people. In some cases it may be perfectly understandable if you got to know them, maybe even justified, but of course they still need to learn to be considerate members of society that don’t go out of their way to alienate themselves. It’s never going to happen, but one can dream. In the mean time, if someone’s playing their music too loud, tell them it bothers you! They’ll probably turn it down. If not.. well.. you can give ’em a pair of headphones if they don’t have one, call the police, or.. move :P

How can I play music on loud speakers with higher volume without buzzing?

Find the source of the buzz, then take a look at the gain settings on each link of the chain from the original source to the final loudspeakers or headphones.Ideally, remove or reduce the “buzz” at its source by repairing or replacing whatever’s causing it.Failing that, the effects of the “buzz” can be greatly reduced by turning-up the gain on each intermediate piece of equipment in the chain (equalizer? amplifier? mixer? effects boxes? whatever you have between source and destination) so that input level is as high as each piece of equipment can stand without malfunctioning (clipping, or distorting, or being physically damaged). If you hear scratchy noise, you’re “clipping” and need to turn the gain down. But generally, the gain should be “as high as feasible” on every stage except the final amplifier. Then turn the gain on the final amp down very low, fire up the music, and slowly turn the final gain up till the music is at desired volume.Doing the opposite (having gain on intermediate stages turned way down low, then cranking the final gain way up high) practically guarantees that your sound will be full of hum, buzz, hiss, and crackle, because you’ve shot your signal-to-noise ratio all to Hell. Just remember, “amplify sooner, not later, to maximize SNR”.

How can I stop my neighbor playing music so loudly?

Both neighbors on either side of me played really loud music late into the night until the early morning. And we’ve already spoken to them about it. One neighbor apologized, stopped doing it and then after a couple of months, started doing it again, although they don’t do it so late anymore. The other one threw a baby shower for her friends and was playing loud music from 9 pm til 7am. She had just moved in too. Which is strange, because as new tenants you would think that they’re more conscious about neighbors and try to respect rules. We live in a condo so we share walls and we have HOA rules. We didn’t get enough sleep and so the next morning, hoping to sleep in, she was still playing loud music, so I walked over to her door and rang her doorbell. She has one of those video doorbells. The music stopped, and I could hear her say “sh*t someone’s outside.” I rang the doorbell another 2 times (was standing there for 10 mins in my pjs). Finally the door opened. But it wasn’t even her. So I asked him “is Kimberly home” and he said “yeah. Can I help you?” Really? Playing dumb. So I said “you’ve been playing really loud music all night until this morning. HOA rules state that you cannot play loud music past 10pm until 9am. We could hardly sleep.” And he goes “oh I’m so sorry, we’re celebrating my wife’s pregnancy, you should’ve said something last night.” Apparently it’s my responsibility to tell them to stop playing music. So I said “how is that my fault? And your wife is pregnant? Maybe as soon-to-be parents you’ll value your sleep from now on like the rest of us.” It really pissed me off because she sent her friend, a guy who doesn’t even live there, to talk to me. Instead of herself. I think she thought it would intimidate me. It didn’t, because the guy just started stuttering/stammering when he couldn’t explain why they thought it was a good idea to play loud music in the middle of the night. It was pathetic. Bottom line, she has never thrown a party or loud music ever since.

Why do Muslims use loudspeakers on their mosques? Why do they promote their religion so much?

The sound in question is called an 'Azaan'. It is simply a call for the Muslims to make their way to the mosques for the prayers, as we are supposed to pray in congregation.Let me break your question into three parts to address it in a better way.1) Why do Muslims use loudspeakers on their mosques? The use of loudspeakers is to make sure that the 'Azaan' reaches far and wide and maximum possible Muslims are able to hear it.2) It's so irritating. At least 4-5 times a day they make a loud noise.I agree that some of the people find it irritating but it is not always the same case.I wish you go through these two videos that support my case.a)Azaan Dubai Mall & Mall of the Emiratesb) Reaction of a non Muslim to 'Azaan'You may argue that the woman may have been pretending, but my dear friend kids don't lie.The call of Azaan if given by someone who has the understanding of Arabic language and its proper pronunciation, is certainly not irritating. Here is an example of such an Azaan with proper pronunciation.3) Why do they promote their religion so much?'Azaan' is definitely not for promoting the religion, it's simply a call for prayer as I mentioned earlier. However, we do preach our religion (I suppose that the word 'preach' is better than 'promote' to exactly define what we do). There are many Muslim speakers who have taken up that job. Why we (Muslims) do so is because we have been told by our prophet (of course is particular way without any compulsion) to preach. Also the constitution of India permits us to do so under Article 25(1), which guarantees to every person the freedom of conscience and right to profess, practice and propagate religion. Similarly, most of the countries in the world give that right to their citizens.Hope you don't feel irritated now :)

Two loudspeakers are placed above and below each other, as in the figure below, and driven by the same source?

540Hz.
Wavelength = (v/f) = 343/540, = 0.635185185 metre.
Divide by 2, = 0.3176 metre (rounded).
Path length to each speaker = sqrt.((8^2 + (2.84/2)^2)), = 8.125 metres.
(8.125 + 0.3176) = 8.4426 metres.
Sqrt.(8.4426^2 - 8^2) = 2.6877 metres.
Subtract (2.82/2), = increase in height of 1.28 metres (2 decimal places).

A loudspeaker on a pole is radiating 100 W of sound energy in all directions. (Intensity Levels)?

A loudspeaker on a pole is radiating 100 W of sound energy in all directions. You are walking directly toward the speaker at 0.80 m/s. Assume you are 20 m away.

A) What is the sound intensity level?

B) What is the rate (dB/s) at which the sound intensity level is increasing?
Hint: Use the chain rule and the relationship log10x = lnx/ln10.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

What causes speakers to pop?

I'm presuming you're not asking about the subtle clicks and pops one might hear on an LP but instead something a bit more violent sounding.A speaker makes its music by moving back and forth. There are physical limits to just how far that speaker cone can extend (called excursion). When that cone extends past its designed excursion range it will start to make a popping sound. As you might guess, this sound is generally undesirable and potentially damaging to the speaker's driver so some steps should be taken to avoid it.Causes can include:Playing your music too loudNot using a proper crossover (meaning the range of frequencies being sent to the driver are below the range it can handle at the desired volume)Turning your equipment on or off can sent a significant spike of current to your speakers. Sometimes this can be avoided by turning off your amplifier before other components.Your speaker is already "blown" (permanently damaged) and will make popping sounds even at normal listening levels. This is a common problem particularly in car stereo speakers. It is most often due to some combination of 1 and 2. In this case, the speaker must be replaced. I blew more than my fair share of car speakers as a teenager when my love of music far surpassed my understanding of audio components. Trying to coax more bass out of a small speaker by turning up the bass control on the radio, and then turning up the volume, was the recipe for many a speaker's demise. The pops described above result from the physical limitations (or damage) of your speaker's driver(s).  There is also an electronic cause for a similar effect which is called "clipping". Clipping is similar because there is still the lack of smooth soundwave reproduction but the problem is in the signal itself.  See Clipping - what is it, and what does it sound like ? Metallica's Death Magnetic is a recognized example of a recording with audible clipping.  I found the recording to be totally unlistenable, despite my fondness for the band. With a little research to see if I was crazy, I landed on a few sites which confirmed others heard the same. Unfortunately Death Magnetic and its malady was but one of a growing many. The related movement to combat this is known as the "Loudness War". Worth a read - Loudness war

A loudspeaker of mass 19.0 {kg} is suspended a distance of h = 1.20 {m} below the ceiling by two cable?

A loudspeaker of mass 19.0 {kg} is suspended a distance of h = 1.20 {m} below the ceiling by two cables that make equal angles with the ceiling. Each cable has a length of l = 3.90 {m}. What is the tension T in each of the cables?

i have no idea what to do. I found the angle of theta which i got to be 17.9 by (sin^-1(1.2/3.9)). Then i took 19 and multiplied it by the force of grav 9.8 and got 186.2. Then sin17=186.2/hypotenuse to get 605. This said it was wrong tho..and ideas what i did wrong?
