What Is The Best Cat Fountain To Purchase

My cat has UTI.. What medication is best from petco I can purchase?

Most OTC fm pet stores are herbal remedies & they're worth a try. There's even 1 w. cranberries. But I think most of those are really only good for preventative for cats that get uti often. I'd switch immediately to a "urinary health" cat food. I'd also try to get kitty drinking lots of water just like us-it helps. I water down canned food & mine drink the broth. I had good luck w. a $5 decorative fountain that cats love to drink fm. Also, give water by eyedropper. You could tell your mom that cat antibiotics are very cheap if that would help convince her to go to the vet. But I have used my antibiotics on my cats when I was really desperate. Even if it's not uti-antibiotics won't hurt kitty. Most people have amoxicillin-give about 50 mgs ( 1/10th the usual pill strength for people) every 12 hrs. I know that vets also use cipro, ceclor, cephaloxin for uti----if u know anyone that has those antibiotics.? Do u have any left fm ur uti? -vets usually use the same antibiotics for uti that we people use.Good luck sweetie

What is the best kind of water fountain for cats?

Well, I don't have a recommendation for one, but I can tell you to steer away from the PetCo Brand ones. We bought one a while back and the motor burned out within a few weeks. We returned it and got another one. This ones motor lasted just under 3 months before dying. We couldn't return it since we had thrown the box away (cat decided to turn it into a fort and it was torn to shreds, lol), but I was really disappointed with them. I usually like their products but thought I'd warn you.

We're looking for a new one too. Good luck!

What is the best cat food?

One of the things you should look at when buying food is what the first ingredients are. If the first ingredients are poultry, chicken, turkey, etc... then odds are its better than the cheaper stuff (even stuff like whiskas). I haven't found the best food nutritionally at PetSmart or whatever but I've been buying the Eukanuba because it has a higher protein content for cats. A lot of the cheap food is mostly grains and what not and poultry by-meal. Grains sounds great and all but a wild cat for example rarely eats grains and it's not an optimal source of protein for a cat. You should do some research on google or whatever if you're that concerned nutritionally.

Ceramic or stainless steel drinking fountains for cats?

Hello. We recently got a kitten, and as is often the case with cats, he doesn't drink much water. We're looking to get a drinking fountain to encourage him to drink water regularly, but all the models we've found on Amazon and similar sites have gotten very mixed reviews. Some of them apparently break down shortly after arriving, while others are too noisy. Also, it would seem that the manufacturers don't sell pumps separately, preferring to oblige customers to buy a new fountain altogether when something goes wrong with the pump. Can any of you share your experiences with ceramic or stainless steel drinking fountains for cats, i.e. are you satisfied or dissatisfied with your purchase, and are there any makes and models you would specifically recommend, or to the contrary advise me not to get? Any pertinent information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
