What is the best deer rifle for 13 year old. peferably low recoil, but has alot knock down power as well.?
When I was a kid I had a youth model Remington Model 7 in 7mm-08. Kick wasn't bad, and I nailed a couple deer at ranges >150 yards. (Note: for your first couple deer you're going to be too excited to notice even the sound of the shot, much less the kick!). Then again, by the time I was 13 I had switched to a full-size 30-30 so my brother could use the 7mm. So maybe (depending on his size), you should just get him a full-size rifle. That being said, now that we're all grown up, we still use the little 7mm-08 youth model as a nice lightweight carbine, so it's not obsolete just because there's not a kid to shoot it. My 2 cents: I agree with others that a .243 is just not enough power to be a reliable kill. As an ethical hunter, that's one thing you have to make sure of. 7mm is a fast bullet with a nice flat trajectory. Unless your kid is an amazing sharpshooter it's probably not wise for him to try for anything more than about 200 yards out though. And most calibers (but NOT the aforementioned 30-30) will get you that range no problem.
What type of rifle for deer hunting ?
For a smaller person I don't think there's any better caliber than a .243. They are very accurate and light recoiling rounds. Savage is making a new rifle called the Lady Hunter that is sized just for women.http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model... If you want to go with a bigger caliber(just in case you want to go after bigger game) you might consider a .308 or 30-06. Of course the recoil factor will be higher with either of those rounds.
Does a woman's menstrual cycle have an affect on deer?
I think your concern is a valid one. I have heard...but never seen first hand, the effects of a womans cycle on a Buck during the rut. I know back in the old days, it was common practice to grab up a freshly used tampon and hang it near the the hunters blind or tree stand during the " rut"( mating period). I've known several guys to use two or three..they always got their buck. I think if you wanted to go during your cycle...you can do the following: a) take a shower using scent masking soap and shampoo b) keep your hunting clothes in sealed tub with a scent masking wafer in the garage c) use scent lock clothing d) you can also use scent masking deoderant the deer have keen noses, so doing the mentioned above steps will greatly help keep you safe.
