How much does a MacBook Pro 16GB memory upgrade cost?

$200 See: 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display Apple usually charges more for RAM, but since you can't upgrade or replace it yourself, it is a good $200 spent, because 8 GB of RAM is just unusable for professional applications and workflows. Also, if you want a lot of things running at once or have a lot of tabs open, you are going to need the 16 GB of RAM.

Graphics card upgrade for 2011 Macbook pro?

*sigh* I feel your pain. A couple of years ago my iMac's video card failed. Took finding the right place locally to get it properly diagnosed. Long story short, finding a replacement and getting it installed was going to end up costing more than the machine was worth. So I ended up buying another iMac, several years newer than the one that had failed. I think you are actually in the same position. You probably won't be able to find an upgrade that you can put into that Macbook Pro, which is, after all, 7 years old. I would seriously consider looking into either a new Macbook Pro, or a refurbished or used one that's no more than a couple of years old. Check out Apple's website for such machines and also PowerMax.com. They are an authorized reseller of Apple products, really easy to deal with (you can talk to a live person!) and they often have used/refurbished machines.

Can we upgrade the RAM of a 13-inch MacBook Pro non-Retina to 16GB?

If it’s the model of MacBook Pro with the Hard drive still in it, then yes you can.Apple typically won’t sell it directly these days (used to), so I suggest a site likeCrucial- http://www.crucial.com orOWC- RAM, SSD Flash, External Drives and MoreI’ve bought RAM for my iMac from both places before with good result.Instructions for installation can be found here (or in other iFixit articles): MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 RAM ReplacementThat’s the mid-2012 model, but if you have the non-retina MacBook Pro with the internal hard drive, and the optical drive, then it is similar and customizable.I think it’s a little difficult to get it open, but otherwise should be fine. I want to say you can get it up to about 16GB on those models after market.Just be cautious with the installation, and if for some reason when you power up afterwards it doesn’t work, just pop it back out, and put the old back in. RAM replacement will rarely cause any damage or issue with the system as a whole. Thanks for the A2A! Hope this helps!

Why won't my MacBook pro recognize upgraded ram?

I have a 17" 2.5 GHz intel core 2 duo mac book pro (early 2008-late2008) and am trying to upgrade it from 4 to 6GB of ram. I know it typically won't go higher than 4, but I put 10.8.3 (mountain lion) on it which I read would recognize more ram. However when I install the 4GB stick it won't show up once I turn the computer on. It just says that it has 2GBs of ram and an empty slot. Any ideas what the issue could be?

How do I upgrade my MacBook Pro 2017 (with touchbar) to 32GB of RAM?

Apple clearly states that the Ram on their mobile devices such as MacBook, MacBook Pro are not upgradable. You given the chance to max out the Ram upon ordering your MacBook(Pro)as others have mentioned unless you have some type of application the needs more 16GB then that should be more than you need.by the time a typical consumer needs more than 16GB of RAM the MacBook (Pro) you have today will be close to obsolete. As I mentioned to another question if you can afford to max it out now go for it even if it’s an overkill you can expect a better price when you decide to sell it.

How can you change the RAM in a MacBook pro?

You can on some MacBook Pros. Just google your macbook pro and check if the RAM can be upgraded on your specific model. If the RAM turns out to be upgradable then you just screw up the bottomside of your macbook and insert the newly bought ram sticks in the ram slots. For more detailed information check the internet as there are plenty of guides out there.A MacBook Pro supports up to 16 GB of RAM.Note: Be sure to buy compatible RAM sticks. Also always buy two same ram sticks (a set), you don't wanna have two different ones in your computer; compatibility issues. Be careful with replacing your RAM, if you do something wrong you could lose the warranty or damage something.

Should I upgrade memory or processor in a MacBook Pro?

The processor doesn't usually add that much in performance for basic computing. Adding extra cores can help for certain things, but just getting a speed bump which is the typical upgrade for MacBooks is not that crucial. I would get the extra RAM. In your specific use case I would think it would be even more important. I don't know what large means, and it's a little less important with an SSD, but more ram is always better. I'm a document border, and on my pro I could have gotten away with 256. You might want to look at what your are actually using. You probably think you need 512, and maybe you do. But if you are using Dropbox or something similar, I would really look at your usage and how frequently you are pulling up older files. A little smart organization and a use case that almost always has you connected to wifi might allow you to save a bit on the SSD and upgrade both RAM and the CPU. This really depends on you, but before I got the 2016 pro and really started looking at it, I would have never considered a smaller hard drive. But I could have done it. I know I may have just complicated your depiction a bit and I am sorry about that, but it was eye opening for me when I looked at it. Good luck!

Macbook Pro 13 inch or Macbook Air 13 inch?

Bottom line, the MacBook Pro is just the better computer. There's a reason it's called pro! The pro isn't all that much heavier than the air, so don't get the air... It's not as good as the pro and it's not significantly lighter. Pro can also handle more than the air. If a pro is too expensive for you, the air would still be a fine computer. Pro is just better. All laptops heat up to some extent, especially if it's laying against your legs instead of a table. I would assume it would still be better than a pc, though.
