What Is The Best Replacment Tanning Bulb To Buy

Two bulbs in my tanning bed don't work?

One of the transformers, also called ballasts has probably gone bad. It is also possible that one of the wires has come loose inside the bed. You should probably call an electrician who has experience with tanning beds, because some of the voltages inside the bed may be very high. Good luck.

How often do you need to replace tanning bed bulbs?

Price depends on what type of bed. 10? 15? 20? For a 10min bed the bulbs usually run between 20-30 when you get to 20mins its usually 10-15.

You should replace the bulbs every 10,000 usage hours. They can usually go a little longer than that, but they aren't as effective.

I love tanning beds! At one point I was addicted. After having a baby it really helped with back pain.

Could i put a tanning light bulb, in replace of my regular light bulb?

Tanning promotes melanoma. So if that's where you want to go, sure, go for it. But it is not safe.

I'll let Lisa G tell you more about it.
Do you see this girl (woman in her 50's now) who used to go in a tanning bed.

Google her and see what she looks like 2010.
"Plastic Week: Lisa Gastineau On The Dangers Of Tanning Beds"

She had 2-3 melanoma moles removed, one by her nose. She had nose surgery just to get her nose straighter, so she can breath again. She got those moles from a tanning bed.

I DON'T think you can predict your future.

Who cares if you have white skin, at least you will look beautiful when you get in your 50's, and girls with whiter skin will look YOUNGER looking in their 50's if you know how to preserve your skin.

Here are 2 girls older than Lisa G. and they still look like their in their 30's.

What are the pros and cons of Planet Fitness' tanning beds?

Planet Fitness does not have their own line of tanning beds and the beds they have are comparable to most other gym tanning beds. They use long tubular bulbs that generate UVB (the burning ray) These bulbs lose their ability to tan the skin before the bulb actually burns out so they are supposed to change out the bulbs after using for specified number of minutes. Quite often these bulbs are not changed on a regular basis and result in burning when the new bulbs are in and the tanner stays the same amount of time as always.Additionally, the beds are to be sprayed down with a disenfectant and left to dry. Due to the quick change in customers, the beds are not left to dry but rather wiped dry; not giving the product long enough to do a thorough job. Or, worse yet, the cleaning responsibility is left to the last user and then you never know if the bed has been cleaned or not and in that case, clean it yourself before you get in.Remember to never overexpose. Burned skin is damaged skin and physiologically will not turn from a burn into a tan.

Can you lie on your stomach in a tanning bed?

Yes. I used to do that for the same reason. I would do 10 minutes on each side (stopwatch). It is uncomfortable. Put elastic strap on goggles to hold them on. Since the bulbs on the bottom are closer to you, that side will be more intense. I mainly wanted to get less exposure on my back, so sometimes would just put a towel down for half the time and lie on it, on my back.

I'm thinking about buying a tanning bed,but i have a couple questions...?

I work in a tanning salon so I've got a lot of information to throw at you so here it goes......
First you need to decide what you are tanning for. For home use beds you have two options a regular bed which is 100% natural light. This is just like laying out in the sun and it takes a little longer for a tan to develop and gives you more of that red tan. An example would be this bed right here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001N3OHPC?ie=UTF8&tag=good00-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B001N3OHPC. We actually have these beds in one of our salons and for a regular bed they develop color pretty quickly even for somebody with fair skin. The other option is a bronzing bed and is the most popular kind of bed in tanning salons these days. These beds are designed to promote color much faster without burn and the color lasts longer, also it produces that bronze tan that most people want after they tan. Here is a great bed that we also have in our salon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002HELWAE?ie=UTF8&tag=good00-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B002HELWAE. The main difference between the two beds it that regular beds will get your skin ready for sun exposure vs the bronzing bed be more for cosmetic and will give you better color, but not necessarily condition your skin to be out in the sun. For the big questions, How often do you replace the bulbs. Tanning bed bulbs brand new are good for 600 hours and if you are buying one brand new the bulbs would be new so they would last you for quite sometime. I work in a small tanning salon that sees about 50 customers a day and we have to change our bulbs about every 12-18 months. If you used it just for personal use you could probably use the bulbs for 2 years possibly longer. You want to have them changed when they get down to about 100-150 hours left because you won't be as happy with your results anymore. Also as far as cost goes, it would be one of the cheapest things you have ever owned. Running a regular bed for 20 minutes cost us $.10 so once again for personal use you wouldn't even notice a difference in your electric bill. It will only be a couple of dollars a month. I hope this helps Cassie!

How do I know if tanning salon changed their light bulbs regulary?

I noticed that it is important for a tanning salon to change light bulbs almost every month. But the current place i go to doesnt seem like doing so. How can I tell if they are? if i ask them they can always lie about it. Also if its extremely hot inside a tanning bed or stand-up tanning booth can it possibly indicate that light bulbs are old? I am just curious if i have to somewhere else instead of wasting my money because so far having olive skin from birth i cant tell if i got any darker. Best answer with a website source or something will get all 10 points!
