What Is This Magic Trick Called

What was the show called where they used to reveal magic tricks?

I remember watching it when I was young (late 90s? early 00s?) and theyd reveal how they do all these magic tricks.. and then there was another show where it was just magicians and then at the end of the show theyd guess your number and stuff through the tv, im trying to find videos on youtube of it to show my friend!

How is this magic trick done?

This trick is most commonly known as the Voodoo Ash trick. It is a very simple trick to perform. First you must know how to force a card. The most simple way to force a card can be learned by going to http://www.unityroundtable.com/hinduforce.html which teaches you how to do the Hindu Force. You can also use what is known as a Svengali Deck and can be purchased at any magic store or on Ebay.

Once you know what your force card is going to be, write the name of that card on your arm with some magicians wax or a bar of soap. This will leave a small amount of residue on your arm that the ashes will stick to.

Now all you have to do is force the card, have it written on paper, burn the paper and then rub the ashes on your arm.

Another cool trick to do using this technique is to perform a trick called "1089".

Use the wax or soap to write the numbers 1089 on your arm. Then ask a person to write down any three numbers, then reverse those numbers and subtract the smaller from the larger. Then have them reverse the numbers of that answer and add the previous answer and the new number together, the answer will always be 1089 but they don't know this. Now just have them write the answer on another piece of paper, burn it and rub the ashes on your arm.

What is your favorite magic trick?

What's my favorite trick? That depends. Are you talking about my favorite trick to see performed, or my favorite trick to do?

Let's start with my favorite tricks to do....

If I'm working close up, my favorite trick is a standard magic store piece called "The Odd Ball." Most people think it's a silly kids' trick, but I've worked out a presentation that makes it into something special. That's really the secret is to take an ordinary trick and make it into something more.

If I'm working for a children's party, I like a trick called three card mommy which involves mixing up mothers. This one is based on a trick by David Kaye. The presentation is my own.

For stage, my favorite piece to perform is one called the twister.

By the way, my favorite card trick is called the Gemini Trick. It can be done with a borrowed deck and I can customize the presentation to nearly any situation. It has no sleight of hand.

My favorite trick to watch is a tougher one. My favorite tricks are part of full acts. They don't really stand alone. I love Mac King's who act, but couldn't pick out one trick that's a favorite. I love to watch Fred Kaps FISM act but I don't have a single trick that makes it work for me. I love Jeff McBride's water bowls, Rick Thomas's levitation, Jon Armstrong's Telephone Card Trick, Doc Eason's Sam the Bellhop, Arthur Trace's Pop Art, David Minkin's Going Back in Time, Francis Menotti's Torn Card, Eugene Berger's Card Warp, Tina Lenert's Char Woman, Joycee Beck's Signed Dollar Bill,

Where can I purchase an old magic trick called Pharaohs Serpent?

When i was a young lad, they sold a magic trick in most Joke shops called "Pharaohs Serpent" the packet contained three small cone shaped pellets, when you lit them, they would swirl around like a serpent. Does anyone know where I can buy them.

Who remembers/has the old magic trick/toy called 'The Educated Pencil'? I think AMAC of England made it.

i have heard of it but never actually seen one. im still working my rubix cube iv had for 3 years...

What is to a magic trick as a punchline is to a joke?

What is the "Ta da" part of a magic trick called. "Finale" is not the word that I'm looking for as it is not a magic trick on stage, but just a small magic trick like the ones between friends and the ones with the "pick a card" and stuff. What is the finale of such a trick called?
