What It Mean When People Said That They Use 100 Server . For Example How Much It Cost For Each

What is the average cost of a dedicated server?

i want to set up a website for my small business, basically not expecting too much traffic...but the general consensus has been against shared servers. I need to get an idea of the cost of having a dedicated server? Including upfront costs and monthly outlays.

Why do people complain at chain restaurants?

Because I guess they were paranoid... felt that they purposely served food like that.

I went to Chick Fil A 2 months ago... and they gave me nearly burnt chicken sandwich....
I was like paranoid... felt like they purposely gave me that cause they don't like me or something...
I didn't say anything, I just went on and ate it....

Why would they give me nearly burnt chicken sandwich anyway? Don't they see the chicken is burnt... would they eat it? Would they pay for something like that?
Why would they served that to me? Don't they see the chicken is dark brown, almost charred... before they put that on the bun?
Do they think I will come back to this restaurant?
Do they have any common sense?

You should feel sorry for me... If I asked them to make it again, they might spit on it.
You should feel bad about us customers....

And the $2.50 for a cup of tea is wayyyyyyy to much... and they can't get a refill?

Most restaurants never refill my cup... The waitress kept ignoring...
i had to ask.... "can I have some more?"
Why should I ask...? It said on the menu... refilled drink.

Sigh.

What's high end servers and low end servers?

Low end servers are basic computers set up with an extra hard drive or two. They are the same basic machine you would buy for your home

High end servers are designed for much higher reliability. While they use many of the same components, they are built with redundancy and up time in mind. So high end servers have:
Hot swapable, redundant power supplies - if one fails, the other carries the load and you change out the bad one, with no down time
Hot swapable hard drives set up in a redundant RAID configuration - Here the data that is stored on the drives is duplicated on several drives. If a hard drive fails, the data is still there. You can swap out the drive, refresh the new volume, and never stop working
Extra Fans and cooling systems - Heat kills electronics, but it costs bucks to add those fans and coolers. Not justified on a home machine, easily justified on a mission critical server.

The surprising part is that the software is about the same across the line. Linux and Samba power a lot of file servers, Solaris and Unix have a bundle, while MS server software tries to run the rest.

Add to these specs other systems such as clustering with automatic fall over, uninterrupted power supplies (UPS), automatic bus transfer equipment and emergency generators and you can create a 99.9% system that only a missile strike or a klutzy programmer can knock out.

Hope that helps

Do waiters pay 8% tax on each table they serve, so if you tip less than 8%, it costs them money???

This is very misleading, especially the way you have written it.

Yes, waitstaff must pay tax on an assumed tip in many establishments but what it comes out to is reporting 8% as income NOT paying 8%. The person then must pay tax based on that amount. This does not include all waitstaff in every restaurant (McDonald's comes to mind), but it is a gripe of many.

The flipside to this is that it is only 8% and not 15% or 20% and, since the average tip (at least from my memory in the serving industry) is 15% or higher, there is a lot of room for leeway. Say, for example, that you wait 10 tables and each is a $100 meal. You have to report as income the assumed tip of $8 at each table. Now say that each of those tables tipped you $20. Nobody will ever know if you choose to only report 8% instead of 20%.

By law, you are actually required to report ALL your tips, but nobody ever did or does, so they (the govt.) decided to make it mandatory to report at least 8% of each bill or about half of what the average tip is.

In other words, since people weren't reporting any tips, now people are automatically forced to report about half of them.

What does the word "supplement" mean on an high-end restaurant menu?

Good question!!!

"Supplement" these days means that the term "a la Carte" has been eliminated, as a LOT of people do not comprehend that French term, of "Only, or One dish, alone"

Supplement these days means that: (and I'm using this as ONLY an example)

You go to Ruth's Chris' Steakhouse:

A Rib Eye is 39 bucks.............PERIOD. That means you get a steak, and THAT IS IT.....

Supplements mean that you have to order "a la Carte", or separately from the menu........

So: Steak, Prix Fixe (that means a fixed price, but STEAK only)

Supplements: baked potato, salad, etc.........BTW, at baked tater at Ruth's is 7 bucks.........I can buy 20 pounds of taters for 3 bucks, and go to our butcher, Tip Top Market, which has Harris Ranch Organic Beef and get 2 Rib Eyes for 35 bucks.....and fix them myself......to my liking......Enjoy!!

What are Dedicated Servers?

Whenever people are talking about improvements for the Call of Duty series, somebody always brings up Dedicated Servers. What exactly are they, and what difference would there be if they where in Call of Duty? What makes them better? Are there any examples of dedicated servers that you could give me? Thanks in advance!
