What Kind Of Car Amplifier Should I Get For My Subwoofers

Can I use a subwoofer without amplifiers in a car?

You will always need an amplifier to run the transducer. The amount of amplification you may need will depend on what you pretend to do.Think of it this way. A loudspeaker power capacity is its capacity to handle power. Loudspeaker drivers are not self-sufficient and they have no power, they can handle power up to a certain limit.A 1000W woofer will work from 0W to 1000W, depending on its sensitivity. You should be able to have the loudspeaker “work” with 1W. So connecting it to your head unit directly would make it “work”. Would you be able to get good results? Probably not. Usually, the subwoofer needs twice the power you are feeding to the rest of the speakers in order to get “acceptable” results or be effective enough for you to notice it is there. Also, the woofer would need to be connected to a mono channel, if you connect it to either the left or the right channel of your head unit, you may not get all the information depending on how the recording/mixing was made, and you do not have an amplified sub out mono channel on the head unit. So, the result will be poor. But you have to consider that even your head unit has amplification inside (almost all do, some are only preamplifiers and will need external amplification for all speakers). Your car speakers would not work otherwise. So, without any amplifier at all, not even the one from the head unit, you can have the sub in the car, but it will be as useless as would be all the other speakers in the car without one. Unless you are an inventive person and manage to find a different use for your loudspeakerBut you have plenty of options on the market that “do not need” a separate amplifier. Just look for an active subwoofer, that is a subwoofer with an enclosed amplifier, one that does not need a separate one. You can find those in all sorts of shapes and with different specs. Just chose one that fits your needs.

How do you hook up car subwoofers without an amplifier?

Dude, you don’t. The subwoofers usually have 10″ cones and massive magnets to get all the surface area moving. You need some serious power to drive that and you will need at least 1,000 watts of power to drive your system and perhaps even multiple amplifiers with crossovers to optimize the sound.

What kind of amplifier should I get for my 12'' Infinity Sub-woofer?

I have a cheap 180 Watt Sony X-Plod Car Radio. The speakers are 190 watt peak power.

These are the Subwoofer details.

What kind of car amplifier should I get for my subwoofers?

I just got the older Kenwood KSC 7701 - it's two 10" subwoofers, 2 tweeters, and 2 mids all in one big box. Both the speakers run at 200 watts and 4ohms each. Should I get an amp that runs 400 watts? I have a '93 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I'm also looking to replace the stock radio. What would be the best amp for these subs that'll produce the best highs and lows thats only around $100 - $200?

What kind of car amplifier should I buy?

Quite literally, any amp will work if it either has a built-in subwoofer crossover, or you have an external one. Run each speaker's voice coils in parallel to make each speaker a 2-ohm load, and they'll end up getting as much out of the amp as it's capable of. Just make sure to keep the amp cool (mounted in the open in the trunk or hatch, or in a fan-cooled amp enclosure)

Depending on the size of the enclosure and the interior of the car, 150-300W per channel would be more than enough.

Is an amplifier necessary for a car subwoofer?

You can buy one of those powered subwoofers where you run the power wires and speaker cables straight to the subwoofer, but they do not put out as much and not as accurate. All other subwoofers do require some sort of amp. If you try and power the subwoofer by just splicing off the rear speakers like the guy below me has suggested you will eventually mess something up. Subwoofers are designed to receive a certain amount of power, and you can blow them by either over powering them like too big of an amp, or under powering them like no amp at all.

What amplifier should i get for my Mutant MT1210 12" subwoofer?

I need to know what wattage of amplifier to get for my 12" subwoofer here are the details:
â– Peak Power: 800w
â– RMS Power: 200w
â– Size: 12" (30cm)
â– Type: Subwoofer
â– Sensitivity: 32-2000Hz

What amplifier should I get for 2 Kenwood KFC-W12PS subwoofers?

This one is a much better option than the one "BadMoFo" suggested.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22732_Kenwood-KAC-8105D.html

The reason I say this is one I can assure you that Kenwood is an extremely reliable brand. Secondly, the amp he recommended is not CEA-2006 compliant so it will not put out rated power so you may only see 200 watts RMS out of that amplifier.

Is it possible to run a 2nd subwoofer of my Sony amplifier?

You have to be more specific. Do you know how many models of amplifiers Sony has ?Is it a mono power amplifier ?Is it a stereo amplifier? What are the specs and model of your amplifier ?Is it a car amplifier ?Does it have “sub output” amplification ?Etc…Is it possible to run a 2nd subwoofer of my Sony amplifier?Possible? Well, maybe! How, will depend on quite a few factors. Without more information on what amplifier and what loudspeaker you are trying to connect to it, your question is not answerable.
