What Millitary Is Better

WHICH MILITARY BRANCH IS BETTER? WHICH ONE HAS THE BEST BENEFITS? WHAT ARE THEY?

Pay rates and fringe beneifts are identical in all branches of the US Military.

Its all a matter of preference.

Marines and soldiers tend to have the worst living conditions in time of battle, since you'll be out there on the ground carrying your house and food and cloths and your weapsons on your back.

People in the Air Force live in a barracks of off base near an air port and do the least amount of travel but they have the best family life.

People in the Navy get to travel the most and see the world, if they are stationed on a small suface ship, that is anything smaller than an Aircraft Carrier.

Aircraft Carriers and Submarines travel a lot, but they rarely visit foreign ports. Aircraft Carriers are known to go to sea for a year at a time without ever pulling into port.

However, you'll have more room and more creature comforts on an Aircraft carrier than any other type of Navy ship.

Submarines have the least amount of space when you are at sea but you'll get to live in a barracks or off base when your boat is in port.

Submariners call their sub a boat, not a ship.

Submariners get the best food in the military.

The Air Force is the closest thing to a 9 to 5 job the miliary has to offer.

However shore duty in the Navy is equally as good.

The recruiters will tell you about the perks of the military and they don't talk about the hard things and difficult things.

A very common phrase in boot camp is, "My recruiter never told me it would be like this!"

Boot camp is usually the worst experience you'll have in your life.

It usually gets better after that.

I was in the Naval Reserve six years and served on active duty for two years. Most of that two years was serving aborad a destroyer, with home port in San Diego, and while I was on active duty my ship made one cruise over seas which lasted about 7 months. That was during the Vietnam War.

My ship came home from that cruise 37 years ago last month.

I thank God every day that I was able to come home without a scratch.

Which military branch has better life on the base?

Air Force. I was a military brat turned Active Duty. I lived on Army bases much of my childhood, and thought it was OK. then I joined the Air force, and I was amazed. State-of-the-art gym facilities at most large bases. My dorm in Italy had marble countertops with a kitchen and walk-in closet! The Air Force is run more like a corporation than a dictatorship. You are allowed to ask questions and the military jobs equate more to civilian jobs so the transition out of the military is easier. They teach you how to manage people instead of barking orders. Also, while I was in Iraq, I lived in a tent with only 7 other people, instead of 19 or more! I had my own 5"x6" space with a bunk bed, big screen TV, and locker. We had a microwave and coffee pot in the entrance to our tent. Many of us also had hardline internet and DSN telephones in our tents as well. This is hard to come by in the other services.

Why is democracy better than military rule?

Military rule is not better than democratic rule. It’s just different. Military rule works better than democracy during emergencies and life or death situations. A soldier can’t afford to sit around taking a vote when the enemy is shooting. Likewise democracy works best during peace because a civil society is more fair when not ruled by tyrants. Military rule is a tool of civil society not the other way around. You can see this in many countries around the world. Just think about which countries are more stable and the citizens are more free. Is it the ones ruled by a democratic government that have a subordinate miliary? Or is it the autocratic military governments that supress their citizens to the will of the government?

I want to go into the military as a sniper, which branch would be better?

Some things to keep in mind:1. Snipers are almost always drawn from non-commissioned (no officers) members of the Infantry. (Yes, the Navy has snipers with the SEAL teams but I'm an Army guy so I'm going to approach this from the Army perspective.) That means in order to be even considered you will have to not only join a ground force like the Army or Marines etc but specifically the "Black Cadillac" (combat boot) marching straight legged Infantry. If you are confused as to what the Infantry is, the Infantry is the fighting force. Your duty isn't to fix trucks or operate tanks, it's to fight, mostly on foot, and to close with and destroy the enemy.2. Snipers are drawn from the BEST of the Infantry. Sniper positions are competitive so you need to not only be a good shot but also a highly ranked solider with your unit. You need to be in top physical shape, a "team builder", a potential future leader, and a master of your craft (basic soldier skills and tactics). Yes this sounds like a lot but for those that are selected to be snipers, they all hit those boxes.3. Don't get ahead of yourself. I am assuming you are still a civilian and have yet to start your journey in the military. We have all seen plenty of wide eyed enthusiastic recruits walk through the gates of the base to only be put on the first bus back after the pressure is turned on and the screaming starts. In order to be even considered as a sniper candidate you will likely have to be in for at least 2-3 years and have completed all of your basic and some of your advanced training (mountain, winter, mounted and dismounted warfare, basic and advanced recce etc). All of these courses are extremely hard and make basic training seem like Sunday tea. What I am trying to say here is you got a long way to go and you should be focusing on finishing your basic training and your basic infantry training. If you haven't washed out by then (and plenty of people do wash out) then start to think about what you need to do to become a sniper. If you are switched on your chain of command will be more than happy to help you with that goal. You are probably not unlike many people who aspire to great things in the military - enthusiastic, and with your heart in the right place but trust me on this... You have no idea what you are getting yourself into. Like I mentioned previously, focus on finishing and excelling at your basic and basic Infantry training and then evaluate where things are stacking up.Good luck.

Which Is The Best Military Branch For Women?

Each branch has pros and cons for the individual. There is no "one" best branch that is a one size fits all. What might be good for one person (male or female) would not work for the next person.

I grow weary of seeing people stating that you should "Join the Marines" or "Navy is the best". Especially since the individuals who make these statements don't know you...don't know your personality or limitations and could be leading you to what ultimately could be the worst place for you. The best suggestion anyone can and should give, is that you do your own research into all of the branches of the military...talk to active and former members...and talk to recruiters.

I have found a good website which is well put together for you to explore all of the military service branches. Check this out. http://www.military.com/Recruiting/Conte...

Good luck...and be sure to come back with your questions.

What military branch is better for a aircraft mechanic?

Actually the Air Force WILL pay for your A&P license, and you can get it pretty easily if you work in the right career field. Tuition assistance covers 100% up to your Masters degree in addition to a separate 2-year certification program. Some bases offer A&P prep classes also.

The AF is the obvious choice - its the best choice. You will not get a guaranteed chance to work on aircraft pertinent to civilian airframes in another service. You will also not get as much support from your management to go to school in services other than the Air Force. The AF has the highest education rate for a reason....

Which military branch has the best food?

Lisa,

The Silent Service - US Navy submariners.

The Navy ensures those who serve beneath the waves eat the best. This is especially true of the Trident subs. I ate shrimp, lobster tails, ribs, prime ribs, superb lasagna (better than Olive Gardens by far), cornish hens, and a lot of other great food.

Which military branch is best for families?

Each branch as pros and cons. Every family has different desires. I would suggest going to talk to all four of the local recruiters. You might not be eligible to go into a certain branch ( they have various criteria) so that would automatically narrow down the choices. It is a GREAT option (any branch) for families. Medical and dental coverage is outstanding. Benefits like life insurance, commissaries, and cost of living adjustments are awesome. There are wonderful resources for military families, from counseling, to how to budget for babies, to GREAT home loan options thru the VA. We live really, really, well and have four children. We are not hurting for anything. HOWEVER, we also spend a lot (and I mean a lot) of time apart, and we move often, far from family and friends. Your spouse needs to be ok with a tremendous quantity of time apart, putting her as a solo parent a bit of the time, and possibly apart from family or current supportive people in her life. You have the danger element covered I would assume, as you were a D. Sheriff...some spouses would have a hard time with the current trend of military deployed to the war zones. You will run across some people who have never moved or not often moved while in the military, and that don't deploy. That in my view is not the common route of military personnel.

We are partial to the Marine Corps. It has served our family well. The deployments are generally shorter than some other branches (not always, but generally by several months from my experience) and the branch is smaller, giving you a smaller community of peers. And of course there is the "Few, The Proud, The Marines...thing....

Also, in the Marine Corps they are going to more civil service for the MP's...you might want to look into that option...I have no idea the criteria, just that they are changing over to that. You might could google that. I know that the Army also uses "public" employees for some of it's security.

And bravo for wanting to do what it takes to be a good provider for your family...that is to be commended!

God's speed in your search.

Which branch of the military is considered to be the overall best?

There is no best branch of rhe military. There, however, is a branch of service that is a best fit for an individual.I think that each branch of service has its pros and cons.I think that the Navy has the nicest duty stations collectively followed by the Army. The Army generally pays out the highest reinlistment bonuses. You are more apt to die in the Marine Corps or the Army than the Navy or the Air Force. The Navy and Air Force have more career fields to go into that can yield high salaries in the civilian market place with the hub skills acquired. The Army is probably the best branch to go into if one is wanting to go into healthcare as one doesn’t need to be a Corpsman (medic) first and they have certain fields that the Air Force doesn’t have.Air Force probably has the more attractive females :)If one is wanting to go into special ops, they will have the most opportunities to do so the Army. The Marine Corps probably has the better combat training, but has older outdated and hand me down equipment and are generally treated as rhe most expendable of the service members.Marine Corp by and far has the greatest camaraderie. The Air Force has the best housing arrangements.
