Are there any shows similar to McLeods Daughters or similar to Heartland that you could recommend? ?
There's a movie called Montana Sky based on the novel by Nora Roberts. It's one of my favorite books and made a great movie. Very similar to McLeod's Daughters in that it deals with three sisters coming together to the family ranch in Montana after their dad dies. Like I said, very similar, but the rest of the story plot is a bit different. They have to stay together for one year in order for them to get their inheritance while dealing with a terrifying threat. Still has that ranching aspect tho. It's amazingly similar to MD right down to some of the names being the same. (The book came out in 1996...the same year that Posie's MD movie came out) The book is still available at Amazon, too, it you're interested in reading it as well. Rancher Jack Mercy's funeral is where his three daughters Willa, who runs their Montana cattle ranch together with her dad and loves the land and that way of life (shades of Claire from MD), shy Lily and Hollywood Tess (shades of Tess from MD), all from different mothers, meet. The notary and neighbor Ben McKintock, who has feelings for Willa, are to supervise the reading of the will in which Jack stipulates that the girls only inherit 1/3 each of the $24,000,000 estate...but they must live there together for one year...no exceptions. Love and Romance ensue along with a terrifying enemy that threatens their new found way of life.

The Secret of Roan Inish is set entirely in Ireland, with Irish actors. Children's movie about selkies (half-woman, half-seal creatures) and a baby gone missing. My Left Foot - Based on a true story about Christy Brown, who learned to do all the things we do with his hands, with his feet. The Snapper - w/Colm Meaney (from Star Trek). His daughter gets pregnant and refuses to name the father and wants to keep the baby. The Van (another w/ Colm Meaney). Friends are fired and decide to have a mobile fish and chips van. The Commitments - Only one of the best rock and roll movies. EVER. Father Ted (TV series) about a bumbling novice priest, his cranky older boss and the village drunk, the eldest priest. VERY FUNNY. The Quiet Man - a very famous John Wayne movie. Ballykiss Angel - a sort of drama/soap set in Ireland.
