What Nationalities Typically Have Curly/wavy Hair

What nationalities typically have curly/wavy hair?

So my hair is pretty crazy and unpredictable, probably because I'm such a mixture of nationalities. I'm Irish, French, Welsh, Lithuanian, Scottish and an eighth Native American. Overall I'm of European descent. Also this may be irrelevant but my dad has black, curly ringlets while my mom's is just blonde, thick and wavy. So my hair is just a really weird mixture of that. Lol.

What's my nationality?

european, north american, middle eastern, australian, anyone of these

Is having curly hair a sign of African genes?

It is a sign of human genes. Everyone in the world has hair that grows on the normal human scale. The 'first' people had tight curls and dark complexions. As people's complexions got lighter, the hair grew longer (for no reason except that the cells seemed to do that with less melanin in the skin). Although cells are never exact (because they are mainly fluid) there is a connection with lack of melanin and longer straighter hair. But there is always the chance that your cells might go in the curly direction because it is always there. When I was a child my mum was always trying to set my hair in curls (after the child star Shirley Temple) but with little luck. Now my 6 year old grandson has lovely curly hair, large dark brown eyes, long eyelashes and dimpled cheeks. You can never tell what your cells will do!

Why do so many people have wavy/curly hair?

Its to do with hair strand thickness. East Asians typically have the thickest hair strands and therefore usually the straightest hair that is why their hair is harder to curl.

The more thin hair is, the more it is able to kink/ coil or curl. Contrary to what most people might think Black people typically have thinner hair strands but the curliness makes it look more full & thick.

Typically white people's hair is not as straight as Asians & not as curly as Blacks so they will still have some loose waves & curls.

Edited to say; hair is made up of protein, the more of it that makes up hair strands strands (thickness) the more the structure is enforced/ rigid. There are loads of protein straightening treatments that go by this such as Brazilian & Japanese.

Edit 2: Alexandra, no I'm not on anything! Tomorrow I'll email you a cross-section picture of Asian, caucasian & black to illustrate what I mean. BW perm to relax curls & B hair breaks the MOST bc it's thinner & is static not thick

What race or ethnicity does curly hair come from?

Curly hair does not come from a specific nation or a race. It exists in every country of the world. In fact, it can be seen that the most important thing for hair is to make it look vibrant and shiny. The curls are very beautiful as the following. Then if you want to have a beautiful curls, you have to pay attention to the care for your hair. You will find: more care, more beautiful!

What ethnicity has curly hair?

Those are NOT races (nor ethnicities, really) that you mentioned, but nationalities (and one of the countries your mentioned ceased to exist almost 20 years ago).
You are - I'm guessing - a North American of predominantly European descent.
Curly hair has to do with the shape of the hair follicles, which is a hereditary trait.
The only peoples in the world who are genetically incapable of having curly hair are the peoples of Far-Eastern Asia, and the native inhabitants of the Americas.
I find it extremely humorous that North Americans of predominantly European descent will attempt to list countries that they try to claim as sources of their origin, and end up with a list of nearly a half-dozen (or sometimes more) countries.
Sure, your surname (last name) may have a particular linguistic origin, or you may bear more of a physical resemblance to inhabitants of a certain part of Europe, but that does NOT mean that you can or should identify that as your nationality (or more especially as your "ethnicity" or "race").
Trust me - you have ancestors from all over that continent, and probably a couple from other continents as well.
It is an exercise in futility that also comes across as extremely ignorant, and makes me laugh & laugh.

Do Mexicans have naturally straight hair? Or do Mexicans have kinky/nappy hair like black people have?

I am a 21 year old black/African American man.

I live in Michigan near Detroit.

I read somewhere online that hispanic women use relaxers to straiten their hair just like black women do.

There are so many different nationalities of hispanics other than the Mexicans.

I am very interested in the Mexican culture and I would like to marry a Mexican lady one day and have 2 kids mixed with black and Mexican.

Im black/African American and do any Mexicans have hair like me, which is curly also refered to as kinky hair, course hair, and nappy hair.

Does curly hair mean you have African genetics in your family?

some people who are not of african decent seem to have naturally curly hair, how is this possible when most other races of people have straight hair.Just very curious.Everybody seems to hate everyone who is different and it seems we are all more alike.
