What Next Gen Console Would Pair Well With What I Currently Have

Next Gen Consoles?

I highly doubt a portable xbox type of deal will be released. It would have an already established competition between the PSP and DS. Where would it fit in? - It wouldn't. Although a new console would be an interesting addition, although far too early of a release currently. Graphics haven't evolved that far beyond current gen consoles to warrant the idea of even releasing a new gen of consoles. Although if you are concerned about keeping up-to-date with the latest possible graphics you should have a pc and not a console. Consoles will always remain a few steps behind a pc.

Are any of you guys have a next gen console or getting one im getting a nintendo wii?

well, considering i already have a 360, i might get a PS3. i would get a Wii, but i really dont care for their controller design or their line up of games. the only promising games for it would be the new super smash brothers and the new legend of zelda game

Next gen Gaming Consoles? (READ ALL)?

Forum after Forum and discussion after discussion i hear more and more about "when are the next consoles coming out?" and being a Systems Analyst this topic intrigues me. Time after time we see company's like NIntendo, Sony and Microsoft plugging through countless hours and dollars into R&D and the design of the next system. I never quite understood that to the fullest other than marketing propaganda. Ive always said why not Upgrade the existing systems..now stick with me. I know alot of people would read that and think yea thats what the next systems do. well yea but instead of a whole new system with all new architect why not do 3 simple and cost effective upgrades that can seriously prolong the life of a current system until a major tech breakthrough comes around and would push the next gen console to the sheer edge of reality,

What about i really talking about here? well think of it in terms of a modern PC..3 main upgrades can turn a mediocre PC into a more gaming friendly machine and in regards to that im talking CPU ( Processor ), GPU ( Graphics ) and RAM..lets take the XBOX 360 for example and assume the Motherboard can do this.

Currently the Xbox 360 has a
-3.2GHz Tri-Core CPU
-512MB (Shared) GDDR3 RAM
-500Mhz CUstom ATI Graphics Chip (512MB Shared)

i would suggest this
-3.6Ghz Quad-Core CPU
-1-2GB of Custom System RAM
-More upgraded GPU with Tessalation Support, native 1080p with higher core clock speeds and dedicated 512Mb+ GDDR5 RAM

or whatever not a complete overhaul but basically a plug and play style Upgrade like a PC can do. I know all if not most the hardware is all custom made which could really throw a monkey wrench into my idea but a simple upgrade to a upgrade friendly Motherboard design incorporated into the 360 or PS3 could allow for a simple yet effective upgrades that will scoot the system along for another 3-5 years until like i said earlier.

IDK just pissing in the wind here maybe or am i on to something?

What next gen console should I get?

Lets set the record straight.

1. Kinect is not on 24/7. You can turn it off. Also, I'm guessing it will be off when the xbx1 is off.

2. You can play used games but it might be more difficult in terms of buying/selling used games. Ms said it will be up to the distributor on whether or not used games can be sold or bought. No 3rd party have said that used games will not be allowed. Also, only certain distributors will be able to buy/sell used games. So it might not be possible for you to buy a used game from your friend or ebay.

3. You have to pay to play multiplayer online with the ps4. You need a psn+ membership for online play.
-------------------------
To answer your questions:

1. The hardware are very similar. Both will use 8 core CPU. Both will have 8 gb ram. Sony will use ddr5 while ms will use ddr3. Ddr5 is currently the fastest on the market so this basically allows ps4 games to turn off and instantly restart where you left off.

2. I don't know if its been confirmed or not but its safe to say that cross party chat will be on the ps4. You're supposed to be able to call on your friends to help you out even if they're playing a different game so I would assume you can chat with them anytime they're online.

3. Xbx1 exclusives: titanfall, halo 2014, dead rising 3, forza, ryse.

Ps4 exclusives: drive club, ff 15, infamous, kilkzone, knack.

Some games like knack might be time exclusive.

4. Sony said ps4 will not be region locked. All signs point to xbx1 being region locked. Region unlock only applies to games. I don't know if the ps4 will be able to play movies from other regions.

Why is Xbox 360 a next generation gaming console?

properly that rather relies upon on what factor you're finding at. in case you look on the processor numbers then the PS3 is the S**t yet once you look on the GPU shape then you definately will see that the 360 makes use of a unified shader shape this means that it could carry out vertex and pixel operations on any of its 40 8 pipelines which means it truly is head over heals greater helpful than the PS3. For me i glance on the properly-known of the hardware and the properly-known of the producer. Microsoft: mutually as no longer the superb employer obtainable they very own the main used application in the worldwide and are continuously revamping there look. Sony: released root kit infested Cd's in 2006, had exploding batteries, cant look to make an frequently occurring properly-known(beta max, mini disc, umd. they did no longer invent the CD that develop into Phillips.) submit to in suggestions that i very own 2 Xbox 360's and at present love them the two yet that does no longer recommend that what i'm asserting isn't authentic. now we could look on the consoles them selves at launch the Xbox 360 had themes with in simple terms below a million% of all consoles bought the PS3 is lacking a video scalar so it can not output at 1080P no patch can restoration this. I go away it to you in simple terms rember the 360 has had a a million year head start up so it truly is off and dealing easily, it is likewise greater much less high priced.

Consoles you recommend ?

If you have a lot of friends who already have an XBox 360, access to a broadband internet connection and a means to pay for XBox Live, you should get a 360. Frag sessions in Halo 3 are a lot of fun especially with friends. Add a slew of other games from the 360's wide selection, you can have a lot more fun.

Cut back a bit if you're thinking about the Playstation 3, until the more anticipated games such as Metal Gear Solid 4 ship. If you're willing to wait for them you can get a PS3 now and get some hours in playing Resistance: Fall of Man, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Rainbow Six: Las Vegas.

If you don't mind that your new console can't play either of the new-fangled versions of DVD coming out and that you like playing with family and friends who come over, get a Nintendo Wii. It's loads of fun for all ages and it's a hit when friends come over. Wii Sports comes bundled with the console and with it hours of playability. After a while, you can take a break from bowling to play Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princes, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Mario Party 8, Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, Warioware: Smooth Moves and Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party. Also, since you say you've already got an XBox and Playstation 2, if you get a Wii, you practically also get a Gamecube.

I personally own a PS2 and Wii, I love them both (but after my PC) and come next year I'll be getting myself a PS3 too.

Gaming console help Xbox one or ps4?

The Xbox 1 no longer has DRM, or a used game policy, but I'm still not getting one why? Well for one Sony is going to be charging this time around for online play but it's cheaper then Xbox gold. Because their charging they're stepping up their online service. Free games, and game discounts. The Wii U doesn't need to be payed for. Nintendo and Sony have a better selection of games then Microsoft.
PS4-God of War, kingdom hearts, Shadow of Colossus, Gran Turismo, and more including more Japanese games. Half of the Xbox Exclusives, will be available on a PC.
Wii U-New super mario bros, X, Bayonetta, Donkey Kong Country, Super Smash Bros, and much more on the way. Nintendo's first party titles tend to be an experience not found on other consoles.
Xbox 1 also lost Indie games for download while the Wii U and PS4 have them. Also Wii U has Wii Ware games, and Virtual console games. And is compatible with every wii game and accesory.
Ps4 isn't but can have downloaded games transferred through cloud.
The PS4, Wii U, and PC are all cheaper then the Xbox 1, and games like assassins creed, call of duty, and the Batman series will be available on all consoles. Including the Wii U.

How are video game console generations defined? Who defines them?

Video game console generations are defined by the dominant game console in their marketplace. Anytime there’s a significant shift in the marketplace leader to a new hardware model, that signals a console generation. As such this can be very arbitrary. For a little while processing word size was the best indicator of a generation shift, with clear divides between the 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit eras, but that has become increasingly less relevant as time has gone on and we’ve more or less hit the point of diminishing returns at 64-bit machines. What’s more, a new hardware model hasn’t always reigned in a new console generation. In the interim of 1976–1983, for instance, Atari released the Atari 5200, which was meant to replace the 2600 — but the 5200 never caught on while the 2600 continued to sell quite reliably. As such the 5200 is considered a 2nd-generation console alongside its predecessor. Interestingly the 2nd generation has quite a large field of what are now virtually unknown consoles as a consequence of how difficult it was to displace the 2600.The console generations are as follows:1st (1972–1977): Magnavox Odyssey2nd (1976–1983): Atari 26003rd (1983–1987): NES4th (1987–1993): SNES/Genesis5th (1993–1998): PS1/N64/Saturn6th (1998–2005): Dreamcast/PS2/Gamecube/Xbox7th (2005–2012): PS3/360/Wii8th (2012-Present): PS4/XB1/WiiUThe vehicle that has popularized this means of categorizing console generations is no doubt Wikipedia’s page on the subject. To that end it is not by any means appointed by an official consortium — it is simply a convenient and clear means for the page to convey the history of game consoles, and one which happens to have a sense of verisimilitude.

What game console supports most games?

If you are looking for highly polished, great looking and great playing games, the Wii U is for you. Nintendo tends to make extremely polished games. They do not push graphical boundaries and realism, but they always provide an interesting experience. Out of the three consoles you are considering, it is the most powerful and the one that will be supported in the future, as it is recent. The Xbox360 and PS3 have aging hardware that will get supported less and less in the future. Most multiplayer communities have moved on, with a few exceptions. They both have an incredibly large selection of games, especially if you're willing to get the games on Ebay; it will be harder and harder to find games for those systems in the future. For a gaming experience that will last forever, a bigger selection of cheaper games, AAA and indie games alike, the PC is your best bet. The average price of games I buy on PC is less than 5$, both AAA and indie games. Humble Bundle and Steam Sales provide extremely cheap and awesome games. If you like boxed copies of games, the PC boxed games market is long dead. It might also be a more expensive gaming investment, but the cheaper games usually make up for it.Essentially, ordering them up, I would suggest:1. PC2. Wii U3. PS34. Xbox360I put the PS3 over the Xbox360 because it has the more diverse selection of games, but I'd do research on the type of games you like and they're availability on both systems.

What next generation game system should I buy?

I think you should save your money for more Wii games. They should release some more soon. You are so lucky you live in America, because your Wii is NTSC format right? My Wii is PAL format so NTSC format games don't work on it. A PS3 is cool, but you have a Wii so I don't think you need it, unless you're rich. I think you have too much consoles, I only have a DS and a Wii, but my PS2 broke.

You should buy Super Mario Galaxy or Super Paper Mario for your Wii. Oh yeah, and buy Super Smash Bros. Brawl when they release it next year.
