What Other Hair Styles Can I Manage

Why can't i style my hair?

Yep, Anonymous's tip is great. Use a blowdryer. Here's what I recommend you do to get your hair to stay up all day (yes, mine does fall down to my forehead naturally, and this is what I do):1) Wash your hair. Unwashed hair, besides, well, not being clean, is harder to style than washed hair. Washed and clean hair lays in its natural place and is easier to manipulate.2) Leave your hair damp and run a kind of paste hair product through it (Old Spice pomade, putty, and AXE control cream all work great. Experiment with different products to see what works for you, but make sure that they are pastes, not sprays, lotions, or gels; all of those are too thin).3) While your hair is still damp with water and product (not wet), blow dry it. Hold the hair in the place you want it and blow dry it until your hair stays in that rough shape when you stop holding it. Next comes the magic:4) Move your (now dry) hair around with your hands into the place you want it. If you want a more conservative hairstyle, you might dampen it with your fingers again and comb it. Once your hair looks like you want it, spray your entire hairstyle with a hard spray. The hairspray is the magic. Done right, it won't change the appearance of your hair at all (aside from making it slightly shinier); it'll just hold it magically in place. All of the above takes practice. Don't get discouraged if you don't figure it out in the first few weeks or maybe even months. Just keep trying different products and techniques, and you'll get it. :)

what can i do to maintain my hairstyle ?
oh and also, what do i do after my hair grew longer (awkward length)? trim it again or just leave it the natural way?

I am a male, 19 and I have silky hair. No hairstyle stays for more than 1 day. I want to make it stiff without using any artificial creams. How can I make it?

Sometimes when hair is too silky, the answer to making it style-able is to damage it. Years ago when I first started styling hair, conditioners became very popular. i noticed that with my hair and many others that if the hair was too healthy, it would not hold a good style. If I permed or colored the hair it became more manageable and would stay styled longer. So, how can you damage the hair but not change the color or curl? 1. You can run 40 volume peroxide through it, let that sit for about 20 minutes, then shampoo. This may lighten the hair a bit, but not significantly if the peroxide is not mixed with color.  If it does lighten too much for your taste simply re-dye it to your natural color as this will cause a bit more damage and give even more control. 2. you can run perm solution through it but not use curlers. This will break the bonds in the hair a cause it to swell, making it more manageable. You need to leave the perm solution on for at least 20 minutes, then shampoo and leave to dry. After you have performed one of these techniques, do not use conditioner as this will coat the hair and make it silky again.Good luck

Best way to manage thick curly hair for men?

I’m a 17 y/o male with 5-6 inches of black, thick, curly hair. My hair is kind of frizzy, but that might just be the Florida humidity. I shower every other day (recommended by my dermatologist), and use shampoo and conditioner for dry scalp. Whenever I run my fingers through my hair it feels very tight or resident, and a lot of shedding.

I always had short hair, but recently I changed my hairstyle and grew my hair out, and I then realized that my curly hair was very thick and frizzy. I’ve used products like leave-in treatments with coconut oil to control the frizziest, but it doesn’t really help that much. I don’t like how my hair looks or feels!

Am I not taking good care of my hair? What’s the best way to manage this type of hair?
