What rugby position should i play?

Hey mate you sound like a lock/second rower judging by all that.

Did you say you can't kick or was that a typo?

If you can kick put your hand up to be a fullback. One of the best positions on the field to play.

Alternatively flanker or no.8 would be a good place to start.

What do they mean??

Lock: You pack down in the middle of the scrum. The two locks bind together and put their head between the prop and hooker in the front row. Locks are usually lifted in the lineout.

Fullback: Well its like a sweeper in football. You cover the backline and make sure you are standing deep to cover any kicks. In attack you can slot yourself anywhere in the backline.

Flanker: You bind onto the side of the scrum. In the scrum you put your arm around a lock and you push into a prop. To make it short and sweet its your job to protect your team's ball and disrupt the opposition's. Great position to play because you get to tackle all day and you follow the action.

What position should I play in rugby?

You sound like a forward. Size is important but its not everything. Watch a game of top level rugby and figure out which position you will enjoy. Rugby is a state of mind. You need to be more than a machine.

What position should i play in rugby?

You need to tell us your age.

5ft9, 12 stone at age 14 is a definite prop.

5ft9, 12 stone at age 19 is probably a scrum half.

I will edit my answer when you add an age.

EDIT

Ok so 12 stone at 14 is quite heavy, 5ft 9 at 14 is quite tall too, so yeah I'd say flanker or second row. You're in the right place!

However if you fancied a change in scenery, you could try inside centre (12)

Im 5' 9" 220 lbs what position in rugby should I play?

5' 9" and 220 is good for prop position or even Hooker if you have good foot skills. However you could also be a lock or 8 man easily, flanker wouldn't be as good because you wouldn't be using your leg strength as much in this position. A forward position with your size would be great but with your speed you could be a forward but like I said, you would make the team better by being a forward with your size and strength.

What rugby position should I learn to play?

You should try to learn as many as you could, as you never know where you might be put if an injury occurs.

You haven't told told us anything about your pace and very little about your technical ability. I would put you at outside centre but this is a guess, because you have good hands and your tackling isn't really put under pressure.

See which position works best for you in training.

What position should I play in rugby. 170 cm 68 km?

since your 5 6 and 150 you might wanna be a center, or maybe flanker if you have good sport sense, and you can bench nicely. keep in mind both are very different positions. but with your experience on the O line in football the flanker might be a good idea

What rugby union position should I play?

We can't answer the question as asked, because you have provided no details of your physique, skill set or preferences. Which position best suits you as a rugby player depends on all these things as rugby positions are quite specialised, especially if you are taking it seriously.

What Rugby League position should I play?

Try Fullback. You don't get too much heavy traffic running at you at Fullback, you said you defend well, which is what a good fullback is relied upon, not make so many tackles as what the rest of the forwards/centres are doing on the frontline. And you've got a sound kicking game and can read the attack and organize from behind your defensive line and can pass both ways. Try it.
