What Should I Do About My Job Answer

Should I walk out of my job?

my job is extremely stressful, offered no training when I was told 3 times during the intervoew process that training is 2 weeks and I would shadow another employee. In total, I shadowed one employee to a site and he basically told me "This is a computer" then gave me the keys to a work van. Another time after complaining about the quality of my training, I shadowed another employee, i tried to ask questions but they just said "ugh you'll learn about the job as you go". I am a decent technician. I spent 4 years in the service as a 25B. I know the technical side of the job but any time i have a question about what I should do in a certain situation or how or how to log into internal systems (for filing paperwork, FTP software and such). I didnt even have my login info for the mailing system until 3 months after I'd started the job after reporting it countless times. This company has awful reviews and I'd read them before I'd started but I though "I've been through hell, how hard can it be?" Mentally, I can't take it. Not to mention the hours! I work 12-14 hours a day 5-6 days a week. With no overtime. I feel l feel Like I am going to explode. Its come to a head, (well almost) and I and at my breaking point. I'm a technician with a van and equipment, the company is based 1500 miles away. But its at-will-employment. What may happen is if or when I quit. If anyone is familiar with this kind of thing. I just dont want anything to do with this company.

How do I answer the question "Why do you want to leave your current company," when I think my current employer is struggling in a small industry and want to ensure that my answer does not come off as an outright criticism of it?

Personally , the interviewer obviously knows. However, some things I have found are useful1. My current company was a great place to start my career, got to learn a lot, now I think I have what it takes to move to a smaller company , take more responsibility, drive bigger things. My current company is a little too big, and probably won't give me that much of opportunity2. I feel that I have mastered what I have doing and with the tech market moving fast, I think it is better to be active, work with younger people and check out what's going on. A new job gives me an opportunity to deep dive into something new, something challenging3. It obviously makes sense to take advantage of this question to praise the company (esp if you are speaking to a startup co-founder). eg. xxx is a great product that even I use, and I have some ideas for it, and I would love to see them go live.I think money is an implicit answer, but i would not say no, if asked if it was about the money . Or you can say "Well, money's not the driver for this decision, but obviously, I would like to work hard and earn some more money if given an opportunity". Speaking about the culture of the old company , is a careful thing. You have to make sure that you don't screw your own image . For example I interviewed a guy who said " I have worked really hard so far, I want to join a big company so that I can get into a 9-5 routine and take care of my kids "

How do I quit my job at Macy's?

I started working for Macy's a little over a month ago. I am a recovery and I find the job really stressful and gives you all kinds of hours.

I'm a full time high school senior, I take extra classes and I also volunteer at a hospital 3 hours a day for 3 days a week. When I was hired, they said it would be a minimum of 15 hours a week and it wouldn'texceed 30 hours a week, on my work permit (for school) they asked for my maximum amount of hours to be 25. Since I started, they always gave me 32-38 hours and I honestly can't handle that.

I've been getting really sick lately and was diagnosed with Pneumonia on Christmas and in the past 3 weeks, this would be my 9th day calling in sick because I'm still really contagious. I had what I thought was a cold, which was really an ear infection, then I had a strep throat, which led to the flu, which led to Pneumonia. I have NEVER been this sick before until I started working at Macy's.

You can try to find why you hate it and solve these problems. If you think these problems can't be solved, change it and find another jobs. But please remember, find a job which do you like. Or you will meet the same problem...Good luck!
