Ways to reduce the use of pesticides in your home or yard???

a little research into what's the name of the bug that's bugging you, then planting or making available, living areas for the bug that bugs your bug!~!!.... natural predators are our best defense..... ladybugs agains aphids, for example... that little wasp against hornworms *fergot it's name, sorry.........there's a bunch more.... then, too, for bugs like aphids and spidermites, just a good blast with the hose does a fair job... at least it gets the numbers down to where the predators have a better chance against them!....

I like the garlic, too... and the marigolds and the wormwood/artemesia plants.... that heavy scent puts off a lot of bugs, too... and there's more, so looking it up will get you more ideas that way....

typical home remedy... soapy water sprayed on some bugs is a death sentence!... but be careful with the soap... use ONLY a natural oil type soap*, not an antibacterial detergent dish soap!!!!j....I keep my old slivers of Ivory soap in a mason jar of water in the greenhouse and use that when soap is called for.... or get you some insecticidal soap and keep that handy!...*baby shampoo, Murphy's oil soap, that kind of thing!........... for the hard bugs, Neem oil is a doozie... on the soapy stuff.... remember that it has to CONTACT the bug.... give it a while to work and then spray it off the plants and the dead bugs with it.... also remember that, like with aphids, the next generations will be along in a few days, so you'll need to spray again... and again... and again... for a while to get ahead of them.....

also.... a FEW bugs is okay to have... it keeps the predators well fed!!... don't ever try to eradicate them ALL or the predators will move out , too, and then you'll have an unbalanced MESS!!!!.....

Cleaning human urine out of carpet

Our cleaning service has cleaned the carpets and "extracted" them more times than we can count. Two of our managers are there now changing the carpets. But we know it's only a matter of time before it happens again. This happens on a regular basis. Just today I had to throw away two pair of denim shorts that has been urinated upon and left in the fitting room.

How to get stains out of bathtub

Step by Step:
Step1 Determine what type of stain it is that you are trying to remove from your bathtub. Is it a red or brown stain that might be rust? Is it a blue, green, or white stain? You may be dealing with limescale. Different stains require different removal methods.
Step2 Start out simple. Clean your bathtub with a soap scum removing bathroom cleaner. Soap scum can trap dirt and oils and can be hard to remove. Even if soap scum is not your stain problem, it will make cleaning your stain easier if the tub is free of residue.
Step3 Try removing your stain with a magic eraser type sponge. These sponges remove all sorts of stains without the use of any kind of cleaner. Lightly dampen the eraser sponge and rub gently at the stain. If it looks like some of the stain is coming off, keep at it.
Step4 Remove stains using baking soda. Just sprinkle the baking soda on the stain and scrub at it using a sponge. A little elbow grease may get out your stain.
Step5 Remove rust stains from your bathtub by using salt and lemon. Sprinkle a size-able amount of salt over your rust stain and then saturate it with fresh lemon juice. Let the mixture sit for several hours or overnight.
Step6 Use a pumice stone if all else fails. A pumice stone is a piece of gray lava rock material that you scrub directly onto the stain. The rock will not scratch your bathtub and removes most stains. Do not use a pumice stone on chrome.

Air drying Jeans outside?

Less than 30 minutes and they will be stiff. If you dry clothes outside why not use a home made detergent also. Grate 1 bar of soap, dissolve into 4 cups of heated water, have a mix of 1 cup of washing soda, and 1 cup of borax mixed in 3 gallons of water on hand. Pour the dissolved soap into the 3 gallon mixture, stir really well and allow to sit over night. Use about 3/4 cup of this mix to a load of laundry.

You will not get the soft feel you get with commercial brands but it's a great detergent. It came to mind because your jeans will be stiff as a board anyway:)

What is the best shower cleaner?

You can try this. St. Ives body wash, I don't think it matters what "scent". I've never actually put it to the test before but I just remember once being at my moms house, the bottom of her tub always looks so dirty because her husband is a mechanic and it's so hard to keep it clean when he showers. Their body wash, the St. Ives had been knocked over in the bottom of the tub, letting the soap spill out. I noticed after picking it up and rinsing the bottom of the tub out, there was a clean line on the bottom of the tub where the soap had been. I just remember this because I thought "if it does that to a tub, what does it REALLY do to your body?" LOL.
