What Vocal Range Does This Singer Have

What vocal range does the singer Origa have?

Mezzo-soprano

Does anyone know the vocal range of these singers?

A singer won't always sing their highest or lowest notes in their songs, so, I'm not going to try to list that part.

Minnie Riperton had a five octave range and was extremely good at singing in the whistle register.
Whitney Houston also reportedly has a five octave range.
Christina Aguilera is a Spinto Soprano with a four octave range.

I've never heard of the vocal ranges of the other people being listed.

What does the vocal range E2 - F5 mean for a male singer?

The vocal range from E2 to F5 spans three octaves and one note.

Having a vocal range of three octaves is extensive, provided that with minimal warming-up of the voice, the singer is able to sing E2 and F5 at any time and that E2 and F5 are never hit-or-miss notes.

A male singer with a vocal range from E2 to F5 could be a baritone.
However, the male singer's comfortable singing range generally determines the voice type. As such,

You are a tenor if you can sing comfortably from C4 to C5
You are a baritone if you can sing comfortably from A3 to A4
You are a bass if you can sing comfortably from F3 to F4

What singer had the best vocal range of all-time?

There have been a lot of singers, who have had great vocals. Elvis, was perhaps seen as best of the best in terms of vocals.

However, I think it is Mariah Carey. This may suprise you. BUT, she was awarded artist of the millenium, which means, from the year 1000, to year 2000, she had the best vocals. She beat singers like elvis presely, whitney houston among others.

She had a massive career. Had a breakdown, and had the biggest comeback of all times. Her last two albums, did exceedingly well, and she is the best artist in the world at the moment. Her vocals are superb, I dont think I disliked any song of hers, in her last album.

:D

What vocal range do you think I have?

Yes, you are right that it is hard to determine vocal range over the internet, but I can give you my best guess. The following songs are sung by Sopranos:

Any Kristin Chenoweth Songs (Glinda)
Over the Rainbow - The Wizard of Oz
Don't Rain on my Parade - Funny Girl

The following are Mezzo-Sopranos:

Any Elpheba Songs
Part of your World - The Little Mermaid
On my Own - Les Miz
Sixteen going on Seventeen - The Sound of Music

The rest of the songs can be either Mezzo or Soprano depending on what key they are in, but most are Mezzo songs.

Since you are a good belter, and most of the songs you listed are Mezzo-Soprano (Medium soprano) You are probably a Mezzo. You said you used to use your head voice when you sing and that just means that when you are singing in your head voice, it is the lower range of a soprano and they would be using their chest voice. Sorry If that's confusing but it basically means you are still a soprano but you are a middle soprano and you can't go as high as a soprano, but you can go lower than them.

Hope this Helps!

How to increase Vocal range?

I agree with the other posters, the increase of your range will come naturally as you work on the breathiness issue. To fix the breathy sound in your singing, you have to close your vocal cords. You know when you are picking up something heavy, and you kind of grunt when you do it? That is your cords closing. Try thinking of that right before you sing a note.

This is another excersise, it's a little silly, but it works! The same muscles that you use when you go to the bathroom (#2!) are the ones that help you support your breath when you sing. The other poster said to push with your stomach muscles, and that is partially right. But you want to push with your "poopy" muscles while keeping the rest of your stomach muscles relaxed. The higher you sing in the scale, the more pressure you are going to put on these muscles to support your voice. This is called "down and out."

I'm sorry for the gross illustration, but I promise you it works!!!!
