What happens if you dye purple hair blonde?
So my hair is like a dark purple in some places and in other places it's like teal and green. I'm thinking about dying it a dark blonde but I don't want it to be completely green. So if I put blonde right on top of it will it turn green?

Depends if your hair is artificially pigmentated or virgin hair. If you've previously tinted your hair with dark hair color then blonde hair color will not lighten black pigmentated hair because color doesn't lift color. If you have new growth and use blonde color on your entire head, the roots will be light and the rest of the hair will remain dark. To successfully lighten hair from black, HAIR BLEACH must be used followed by a toner or semi or demi hair color.
What will happen if i put blonde dye in my brown hair without bleaching?
i don't intend to go blonde, but i want to put a bit of a "sheen" in my hair, y'know? it's naturally mid-brown, with golden highlights. at the moment it's semi-perm. dyed a richer brown, not darker, but more chocolate-y. i don't want to bleach my hair, i just want something sunnier

ok so rule number one !! color does NOT lift color so if you put a blonde hair color on already colored hair you would go some shade of blonde on your new growth ( the hair that hasnt been colored ) and the rest will stay pretty much the same color that is was ( brown ) the only way to lighten colored hair is to use a lightener and then to re color or use a toner depending on what color blonde you want .... go to a salon or your nearest sallys if you are wanting to do this yourself and they will help you find what you need ...
What will happen if I dye my black hair blonde without bleach?
Nothing will happen, you can't put a lighter dye over a dark dye. It would only turn orange if you had light regrowth or highlights. I did this a couple of years ago, I had brown hair with light regrowth and didn't realise you had to use bleach or stripper to remove the colour, so my roots went orange and the brown stayed the same colour. If you want the brown gone or just lighter, go to a hairdresser and ask for a full head of foils, that way it will be less damaging to your hair then stripper. Good Luck!

you'll look terrible (no offense). Blonde hair looks good on blondes, it looks horrific on everyone else. Women blow too much money changing their appearance, and it always looks ridiculously bad. Hair dye, makeup, high heels, push-ups... it creates an ugly, unattractive, corpse of a person in place of what might have been a great and beautiful person already. and what's worse, is American society has women convinced that their only value is in how attractive men think they are. Then, if that wasn't bad enough, they also have women convinced that men actually find this false appearance thing attractive. Here's a man's perspective on the subject: 1. if you dye your hair, you're telling men that you're not comfortable with being yourself, and that you don't accept yourself as you are. if that is the case, why should he accept you either? 2. women with dyed hair give the impression of being simple minded and superficial... no substance within, no personality, no wit, no fun (hair color is easy to change, a lack of interesting personal qualities is impossible to change). 3. when you dye your hair and spend all kinds of time and money on beauty products/services (make-up, facial peels, hair dye, etc.) you are imitating the worst behavior of the scummiest people in the world - celebrities like paris hilton and kim kardashian. they make good prison pin-ups, but they do not make good girlfriends. 4. hair-dye says fussy and prissy in all capitols. if it's not up to some backwards artificial societal standard, then you won't accept it. that means that chances are, you won't accept our flaws, whether they be true or implied, either. 5. also, if you're going to dye your hair... white is out of the question. it's unattractive. do you really want to look like some biker scum's "ol' lady?" go for natural colors that are close to your own hair color. if you're brown-haired, changing it to a light brown might be acceptible, but not suggested. we prefer our women to be the way they are. we don't want play-boy centerfold skanks, we want the girl next door. Ask any heterosexual man with an original personality and an IQ higher than his shoe size, and they will agree... the girl next door is what we want, not some makeup-soaked dyed hair brainless bimbo.
What would happen if i put blonde dye on black dyed hair?
If you put regular blonde dye on the black..nothing will happen. BUuuuut if you get a bleach..and put it on the black..then it will turn orange. I went from Black to bleach blonde...i bleached my hair 4 timez within a month and it went blonde. then a couple months later i bleached it one more time and now i'm bleach blonde:P Bleaching you're hair alot within the same month is a bad idea if you're very sensitive. like lots of people have horror stories about their hair falling out, or like ...getting a bad rash etc. but for me that didn't happen becuz my scalp isn't super sensitive:D
Can I dye my hair blonde over my pink hair?
girl, I know exactly what you're going through. I dyed mine purple when I was 13. A month later it was pretty pink. I wanted to bleach it blonde,so I did it at home. Well, let me tell ya...A LOT can go wrong doing it at home. It made my hair fall out and the bit that didn't was super dried out and orange. After that I vowed to myself that I'd never color my own hair again. Now that I'm 18 my hair is super long again and I just leave it my natural color now. Go to a salon! Don't do what I did. I know it's a bit expensive,but it's better than being in my predicament lol Good luck! (:
